Templates Overview
We offer three types of templates to save time and build repeatable processes for your project.
Templates are pre-designed and standardized documents for managing various aspects of a project.
Our three types of templates include:
- Featured templates provided by ProjectManager that contain prepopulated data to help you understand how the software can be used for your projects
- Custom templates created from an existing ProjectManager project
- Templates uploaded from Excel, Microsoft Project, CSV or XML

1. Use a Featured Template
Need a jumping-off point for your templates? We have 12 different in-software templates including construction schedule, construction proposal, punch list, new product development, IT project plan, agile sprint planner, product launch, marketing campaign, event plan, product launch, implementation plan, issue tracking log, change tracking log and a blank slate.
To access featured templates, start by creating a new project. A popup will appear where you'll be able to name your project. Click "start with template."

From there, scroll through a list of our featured templates. Once you've found the right template, click "use this template."

Visit our page on how to use featured templates for additional information.
2. Create a Custom Template (Available on Business & above)
Business and Enterprise customers can create custom templates. Custom templates are useful if you've already spent time creating a particular project and want to use it again.
For example, maybe you're a manufacturing company that makes kitchen cabinetry using repeatable processes. Simply create the project once and save it as a custom template to use again in the future.
To start using a custom template, first create a new project and again choose "start with template."
Locate the drop-down menu and select "custom templates" that have already been created. If no custom templates have been created, they won't appear in this section.

For more information on how to create custom templates, visit our corresponding page.
3. Upload Templates From Excel, MS Project, CSV or XML
If you already have a saved template in Excel, Microsoft Project, CSV or XML, upload it directly into ProjectManager.
To do so, locate the Gantt chart's import icon on the preferred project.
