Recurring Tasks
You can use the recurring task feature to create and edit a series of repeating tasks.
If you have a task that you'd like to repeat regularly, there's no need to create each task individually! You can use the recurring tasks feature to create and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
How to Create a Recurring Task
You can turn a task into a recurring task by updating the recurrency settings in the task card. Recurrency is located under the task name, between the task due date and priority.

To create additional instances of your task, click recurrency to open the recurrence pop-up. There's no recurrence set up by default, so the pop-up will look like this (with Does not repeat selected on the right):

Choose How Often Tasks Should Occur
Click the arrow in the box on the right to view the recurrence options. You can choose from:

- Day - Use "Repeat every X days" to indicate how many days should pass between each instance of the task. Note that this count includes ALL days, not just workdays

- Week - Choose which workday(s) you would like the task to occur, as well as how many weeks should pass between the scheduled tasks

- Month - Choose to schedule your recurring task based on the calendar date or the workday/week, and how many months should pass between tasks

- Year - Choose how many years should pass between each task

Choose When the Series of Tasks Will End
Under "Ends," you can select one of two options to determine when your recurring task series will end.
- On - Select the radio button next to this option to end the task series on a specific date. Click the calendar icon (set as today by default), and choose the date when you wish the recurring task series to end.
Note: If there's not a task scheduled on that date, the series of tasks will end with the last task scheduled before that date.

-
-
- After - Select the radio button next to this option to schedule a specific number of Tasks in the series. Next, enter the number of times that you would like the task to appear in your project.
Finally, click "Save" to use the entered recurring settings to schedule additional instances of this task, and watch the tasks appear in your schedule! Click "Cancel" to close this pop-up without saving if you do not want to add recurring tasks at this time.
How to Edit a Recurring Task
You can edit a recurring task just as you would any other task!
Updates to any of the below fields will be applied to ALL future tasks in the series.
- Task name
- Description
- Priority
- Tags
If you update any of the below fields, you can apply them to all future tasks in the series, or only to this task.
Note: If you decide to apply the update to one task, that task will become a standalone task, and will no longer be part of the recurring task series.
- Planned start date
- Planned finish date
- Planned duration
- Assignees
Updates to any actual fields or CUSTOM fields within a task are ONLY applied to that task. Comments and attachments are also applied to only the task where they are added.
How to Edit Recurring Settings
You can change the settings for your recurring task series at any time by opening the task card where you would like the changes to begin. You can update any of the fields in the recurrence settings, and the changes will be applied to all future tasks in the series. These tasks will be part of a new series.
If you have previously set up a series end date, updates you make may cause the number of tasks in the series to change. In this case, tasks may be added or deleted.
If you have previously set up several occurrences for this task, and you do not update that number when making changes to the recurrence settings, additional tasks may be created so that the newly created series has the set number of occurrences.
