Project Closure Overview
How to close out a project that's no longer needed.

There comes a time in every project when the final task is completed and you no longer need to keep the project open. When you reach this point in the project, you have several options.
Click on the name of the project and you'll see the following project menu:

Copy the Workflow for Future Projects
In the case that you've established a specific automated workflow within the project that you're closing out, you can save it to be used in the future as long as the project hasn't already been deleted.
Note: Workflow automation is only available on Business and above.

Share the Project Internally
If needed, you'll be able to share the project with a team member who's established in the software. Please note that once the project is deleted permanently, the project will no longer be shareable.
Copy the Project
If you're going to need another version of the project in the future, you can easily make a copy. Give it a title and add a description. Add a start date and specify the information that you want to be included in the future. Read more about how to copy projects.

Save the Project as a Template
If you want to use the project as a template, simply give it the name of your choice and specify the information you'd like to include. To save your project as a template, click the name of your project in the top left to open the menu and click "Save as Template." Read more about custom templates.
Note: Saving projects as templates is only available on Business and above.

Soft Delete Projects
If you delete a project using the project settings menu, the project is still recoverable via the Portfolio Projects page with a status of deleted. It will appear as a light grey color. If needed, you can hard delete the project directly from this page as well.

Permanently Delete the Project
You can delete the project or any of its data if you no longer need it. Keep in mind that once the project has been deleted, it cannot be undone. Read more about deleting projects.
View Project History
You'll also be able to view the project history from the project menu, seeing specific information on who added certain tasks and made adjustments throughout the project life cycle. Read more about project history.
