Non-Project Tasks
Create non-project tasks for simple to-dos, as reminders to schedule meetings or to ask team members a question.
A non-project task is any task that is not part of a project.
Create a Non-Project Task In Two Ways:
-
If you create a task using the "+new" button at the top of your screen, you can opt to not add the task to a project and the task will become a non-project task.
-
If you create a task in your home section and you do not assign it to a project, it becomes a non-project task. To do this, click on "home" on the left-hand menu and add a task using the list, board or calendar views.

How Do These Tasks Behave?
A non-project task behaves just like a project task with some exceptions:
-
A non-project task is private to the person who created it and the users to whom it's assigned.
-
You'll be able to schedule a non-project task on any day, regardless of working days. Non-project tasks are designed to be as flexible as possible! You may need to create a reminder on a non-working day or a global holiday.
-
You'll notice that the same fields are present on a non-project task except baseline and custom fields. No baseline or custom fields can be set for non-project tasks.
-
On the team page, a non-project task will not be visible unless you are assigned to the task or you created it.
-
Non-project tasks can't be summary tasks or have subtasks.
If you log hours on a non-project task, you will be able to see the task on the timesheet and the timesheet report, just like a project task.
If you decide to move a non-project task to a project, you'll be able to move it to a project you have access to. Once you move the non-project task to a project, that task and all of the data fields will be available to everyone who has access to the project.
