Inclusive by design means thinking beyond the “average user”. It is about recognising that people use your digital products in different ways, on different devices, in different environments and circumstances. Instead of designing for a narrow group and adapting later, we design for diversity from the very start.
Inclusive design and accessibility go hand in hand, but they are not the same. Accessibility (A11Y) focuses on removing barriers and supporting diverse needs. Inclusive design looks at the whole picture: abilities, language, trust, culture, confidence, context, and even emotional state. It is a mindset that helps you reach more people and deliver better experiences for everyone.
