of course it didn't crosspost this one. from DW:

the lovely and talented j00j gave me the idea to do this--so i have stolen some language from their post:

Thanks to Livejournal's security breech and failure to communicate it, I've removed LJ accounts from my access list, as well as Dreamwidth accounts that haven't updated in about 99+ weeks.

If you've been reading but not posting and have changed your DW password, let me know and I'll add you back!

(they had links to the LJ story--i do not.)

i know that some of you recently came over here from LJ--i didn't change your status, obviously, even if you've never posted here. i am still subscribed to most of you so that if you suddenly revive your DW account, i think i'll see it on my reading page.

this will crosspost to LJ. i'm going to do something similar over there though it might take a bit because i don't recall that LJ has a centralized area where i can see how long an account has been dormant, the way that DW does. and of course i can't stay subscribed if i unsubscribe you. but since this post will be my first public post in about three years, and since cross-posting is turned back on, if you come hunting my LJ to see what's up with me, hopefully i'll look active but locked down and you can drop me a note.

LJ only note: it is incredibly cumbersome--it might be quicker to just delete access to any filters or something though then you might get a note that i added you when actually, i restricted your access to public posts. i did delete some people, already, though. meh. we'll see--whatever i did, the password breach is why.

as a lot of you know, i am a huge baseball fan, and that was my gateway into sports talk radio, and specifically. our very fine local sports talk radio station, 670 AM, the score.

one thing that i like is that when something non-sports related but important is going on, there are several of the hosts who will take time off from sports to discuss it. this morning, jason goff, a black radio host, talked about the shootings of alton sterling and philando castile and what it's like to feel like your stories, your tragedies don't matter:

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2016/07/07/watch-jason-goffs-poignantly-addresses-tragic-shootings-in-baton-rouge-falcon-heights/

it's about 21 minutes long. there's a link to a place where you can find just the audio but there's a video on that page. he doesn't know what to do about the situation and i don't either, but these tragedies matter.

i received this notice in my e-mail, today:

Tomorrow morning in Springfield, the Human Services House Committee will hold a hearing on State Rep.Greg Harris' (D-Chicago) vital records bill. The Alliance will be in Springfield speaking in support of HB 6073. If this bill passes, it would amend the Illinois Vital Records Act, which would remove surgery as a requirement for Intersex and Transgender individuals. This would allow individuals to change their sex designation on an Illinois birth certificate and would make it consistent with other Illinois and federal processes.

i'm going to take a couple of minutes to get in touch with my state rep to let her know i support this bill, and you might want to do that, too.
