Yes, Under the juvenile justice act,2015, a juvenile can be tried as an adult, but only in a special situations if a child is between 16 and 18 years of age and has committed a heinous offence such as murder or rape, the juveline justice board conducts a preliminary assessment of the childs mental capacity and understanding of the consequences if it finds sufficient maturity the case may be transferred for trial as an adult.
