The Supreme Court of India expanded the interpretation of Article 21 (Right to Life and Personal Liberty) in the Ramlila Maidan incident case to include the right to uninterrupted sleep as a basic human necessity and the surprise action violated the fundamental rights of the people who were sleeping.
