A lawyer can represent multiple clients in the same case only if their interests are the same and there is no conflict between them. For example, co-accused with the same defence or family members with the same objective. The lawyer must take clear consent from all clients and keep communication transparent. If any conflict appears later, the lawyer must stop representing all or some clients to maintain fairness. Advocates must always follow Bar Council ethics and avoid situations where one client’s interest may harm another’s interest in the same case.
