I really like it though, comment if you like it and pimp it if you do. In this part Sam arrives at Stanford and meets her roommates and Jess
Summary: Sam goes to Stanford, John and Dean go on a hunt.

New Horizons Pt. 2

After breakfast Sam headed back upstairs to her bedroom to make sure that she had everything she needed. She had filled the three suitcases that John said that he and Mary had taken on their honeymoon. That probably was one of the biggest gifts that John had ever thought of giving Sam. As unpleased as he was that she was leaving, he was happy that his wife in some small way was going to be with his daughter. Dean entered Sam’s bedroom and grabbed two of the suitcases and started to head downstairs.

“Hey what do you have in here, Shoes?” Dean asked.

“Nope, deadly weapons.” Sam said. Dean turned around and gave Sam an “I don’t think so look” and walked downstairs. Sam closed the final suitcase and zipped it, put on her backpack, and picked up her purse and suitcase and headed downstairs behind Dean.

“So I guess we had better head to the bus station.” John said.

“Yea, I guess so.” Sam said. Dean, Sam, and John all headed outside suitcases and other luggage in hand and walked outside. Sam the last one out locked the door behind her and turned around to see Dean and John smirking.

“What, do I have something on my face?” Sam said. Dean and John separated and behind them was a 2000 Ford Mustang.

“Are you freaking kidding me?” Sam said, “I don’t have to take the bus.”

“You don’t have to take any bus.” John said.

“We just wanted to make sure that you could get to us as fast as you needed to get to us, in case you were in trouble or in case we were in trouble.” Dean said.

“Just promise us that you’ll keep up on your training.” John said.

“I Promise.” Sam replied. Sam embraced her father and then turned to Dean.

“So I guess you won’t be such a brat, since you’ll be educated and all.” Dean said.

“I guess so, but I still think I’ll be a pain in your butt.” Sam said.

“Hey I got you something.” Dean said.

“You’ve decided I’m more of an asset dead. Gee thanks Dean.” Sam said mockingly. Dean pulled out a jewellery box. He opened it and took out a silver necklace with a blue vial on the end and etched on it were four initials Dean’s, Sam’s, John’s, and Mary’s.

“Dean, when did you have time to get this?” Sam asked.

“He didn’t have time; I’ve had it since just after you were born. Your mother had it made. She wore it for awhile but decided to put it away and give it to you when you were going to go away to school.” John said.

“Dad, I don’t know what to say, you didn’t have to give me this. I would have understood if you wanted to keep it.” Sam replied.

“Your mom wanted you to have it; she said that specifically before she died.” John said.

“Thanks Dad, Thanks Dean.” Sam said. She embraced them both and hooked up the necklace around her neck. I guess I’d better get on the road.

“You know who to call if you need us.” John said.

“Of course, I’ve got all the phone numbers on Speed dial.” Sam said. “I can’t even believe you got me a car.” Sam opened the trunk and Dean passed all her luggage to her. She then went to the drivers’ side door and opened it, gave Dean one more hug. “Love you guys, see you at thanksgiving.” Sam said.

She closed the door and drove off in the direction of California.

“It’s too bad that she had to leave today because I didn’t tell her we would be leaving for a hunt today ourselves.” John said.

“Dad, you didn’t even tell me that we had another hunt, Dad. I thought we wouldn’t be moving again for another two weeks.” Dean said.

“It’s better that we get ahead of things now, they aren’t going to be waiting around for us to hunt them down. “ John said.

“But Dad, how are we going to let Sam know where we are.” Dean said.

“She’ll be more worried about her first week at Stanford than anything else right now. We can call her from the road.” John said. Dean shrugged his shoulders and gave in.

“I guess she’ll be okay without us. I didn’t think that we’d be hunting again so soon.” Dean said.

“We had to give Sam a more normal life so that she could get into Stanford. It didn’t help very much that we moved around so much.” John said.

“I guess we should still consider hunting as our life.” Dean said. Dean and John went inside to grab their bags and weapons and hunting supplies.

###

“Winchester, Samantha, Winters, Amelia, Winthorpe, Rebecca are all in Room 307,” Called a Residence Advisor. “This will be your home away from home from the next 8 months make sure you respect each other’s space and privacy. They will also be your study partners, your classmates, and your sisters. Do make the best of this. Under the most extreme conditions there will be changes if you can’t get along at all. So please don’t make a mess of it. I don’t want to be your mother or fill out enough paperwork to fill a dump truck. Here are your keys. Welcome to Stanford.”

“Well that settles it; this has got to be the best suite ever. Nice big bedrooms and a huge common area, kitchen, and a bathroom.” Amelia said as she dropped her bags on the couch.

“So should we draw straws for rooms or just all decide that whatever room we get we get.” Sam said.

“I think we should look at all the rooms and make sure they’re all to our liking and then decide for ourselves which one we like best and then put our stuff in our room. If all else fails then we could always switch after two months.” Rebecca said.

“It sounds good to me.” Sam said.

“Alright let’s go check out the rest of this suite.” Amelia said.

After an hour they all decided they loved the same room. They then said that they would do a switch every two months so they all got a chance at the room. They suggested that since Sam was the first one called that she would take the room first. They then set up their rooms to their liking. Sam decided that this was an opportune moment to close the door and get some privacy while she hid every hunting accoutrement that she had in your possession all around her room. She then made her bed and set up her laptop and books changed into a pair of jeans and a tee shirt tied up her long light brown hair and re-opened your door.

“Hey gals are you hungry, I don’t know about you but I haven’t eaten for a couple of hours. Do you want to go grab something to eat?” Sam asked.

“Sure Sam, Amelia lets go,” said Rebecca.

###

Later that night the girls returned to their suite.

“Hey I think I’m going to go to bed girls, I’ve probably driven the farthest and I’m really tired. I don’t think I can keep my eyes open any longer.” Sam said.

“Hey that’s alright Sam; I have to give my boyfriend and mom and dad a call.” Amelia said.

“Sounds like a good idea, I’m going to go finish unpacking.” Rebecca said.

“Goodnight Roomies.” Sam said. Sam walked down the hallway and entered her room and closed the door. She opened her duffle bag and found a tee shirt and sweatpants. She put them on then found her bedding and pillows and made her bed then she collapsed down onto the bed surface and fell into a deep sleep.

Sam found herself immediately in what she assumed was the first home she lived in as a child. She knew the history of the house but never really remembered much of it because she was still a baby. She walked down the hallway and into the first room. She saw her mother, Mary sleeping.

She walked down the hallway further into the next room. There was Dean fast asleep underneath football sheets. “Football, eh Dean; Dad sure did have big dreams for you.” Sam whispered as she walked over to him and kissed him on the forehead.

She walked back down the hallway towards her parents’ bedroom. She walked into the room and the baby monitor started to make noises. Mary rose out of her bed took a breath of concern and began to walk down the hallway into the nursery. Sam followed in behind her and realized that it was her room, the pink wallpaper, pink chair, pink crib. Then she looked at the man standing in front of the crib. She noticed that Mary sighed and turned around and headed back down towards the master bedroom.

Sam noticed that the lights in the room and in the hallway behind her started to flicker. She then looked at the Man standing in front of the crib again. “Dad?” She said. The man turned around and his eyes flickered yellow and back to their normal dull colour, the man then smiled a sly smile Mary then ran back into the room, the look of shock and realization of fear was strongly apparent on her face.

“You monster, move away from my baby now.” She said as she rushed in to protect her baby.

The demon then flicked his hand back and Mary flew back across the room and her body hit hard back on the far wall. He then moved his hand upward and Mary’s body slid upwards towards the ceiling.

“No, this isn’t happening.” Sam said.

Mary then let out a horrific scream. Sam then heard loud heavy footsteps coming upstairs. Sam turned around to find the demon had disappeared. John rushed into the room to the crib. He had a moment of relief that Sam was fine, and then blood dripped down from the ceiling onto his hand. John then looked up at the ceiling and cried out, “NO! NO!” He then fell backward onto the floor and saw Mary, blood dripping from her stomach and stuck to the ceiling. Sam looked up at the ceiling, “MOM! NO! This isn’t happening! MOM! NOOOO!” Just as she screamed her last moment of shock the dream burned up from the edges and flames burst into her eyesight.

“NOOO!” yelled Sam.

“SAM, SAM, Wake up, Sam!” Rebecca yelled as she shook Sam awake. Sam was awake with a start and sat straight up breathing heavily. She then refocused herself and realized that she wasn’t back in Lawrence anymore. She was back in her dorm room at Stanford.

“Sam, are you okay?” Rebecca said. “I could hear you from the other side of the suite with both our doors closed.”

Rebecca put her hand on Sam’s forehead. “Your head feels like its 3 billion degrees Fahrenheit. Do you want me to call the campus doctor?”

“I think I’m going to puke.” Sam said as she bent over the side of her bed and puked all her dinner out into her wastepaper basket and then she passed out.

Twelve hours later she found herself in the student health office lying on a hospital bed. She had an IV in her left arm and a heart monitor wrapped around her right arm.

“Hey you’re awake.” A tall blonde hair blue eyed guy said.

“Hey, yea, I guess I am.” Sam said as she sat up. When she did the room began to spin.

“Hey careful, careful, you’ve been out for half the day give yourself a minute to readjust to reality.” He said.

Sam sat up slowly and slid back so she was sitting upright.

“Hi, I, uh... Where are Rebecca and Amelia?” Sam asked.

“Wow, you’re more concerned for your friends then you are for yourself.” He said.

“I just wanted to make sure that didn’t go way out of their way for me.” Sam said.

“Trust me they did the best they could. They called the campus doctor and he and I came and got you and brought you down here to make sure you were going to be okay.” He said.

“And what is your name exactly?” Sam said.

“Jesse, but people just call me Jess, 2nd year Heath Sciences, head of the campus emergency squad. It’s nice to meet you Sam.”Jess said.

“Nice to meet you too.” replied Sam.

“So you aren’t doing drugs or anything like that.” Jess said.

“No, I haven’t even been close to that stuff.” Sam said.

“I don’t know how to explain what you went through. You haven’t had anything like this before have you?” Jess asked.

“No, nothing like this before, not that I’m aware of.” Sam said

“So, I’ve checked your vitals and your temperature and the doctor suggests that you take some extra strength Tylenol over the next couple of days. But otherwise you’ll be fine. I called your roommates and they’re going to be here tomorrow morning to take you back to your suite.” Jess said.

“I’m starving.” Sam said.

“I’m surprised you would have an appetite after you heaved up your last meal.” Jess said.

“You have no idea what my appetite is like, 99% of the time, I’ll eat ten times the amount of an average guy.” Sam said.

“I guess you’re not the average girl then. I’ll go and get you something to eat.” Jess said.

“Thanks for everything. I bet you don’t get people in like me very often. I bet you deal with a lot of drunken college students.” Sam said.

“Yea, you are definitely not what I expected you to be.” Jess said.

I really like it though, comment if you like it and pimp it if you do,
Summary: Sam goes to Stanford, John and Dean go on a hunt.

New Horizons Pt. 1

“What else do you want me to do, Dad? Do you want me to be in the line of fire every time we come upon some dark force and we don’t know how to control it or kill it?” Sam asked as she continued to pack up her bag.

“Sammy, I just want you to know that Dean and I will always protect you, your protection always comes first.” John yelled back. “This is the best way you and Dean can protect me, by letting me go to Stanford, I’ll be out of the line of fire and I’m 99% sure that no crazy demon will come and find me.” Sam said.

“That’s not a sure thing; there are tons of crazy demonic forces out there.” John responded.

“Dad, I can’t just stay and keep putting in these crazy nights where for the life of me I feel like I’m going crazy, I have no stability.” Sam said.

“Isn’t family enough stability? We’re the only family you’ve got.” John said. Sam stopped packing and rolled her eyes and turned around to look at her dad. He had just spent the last four days on a hunt and he had the scratches and bruises to prove it. He looked tired and worn out. He hadn’t had a clean shave in months and his hair was as crazy as it hadn’t been brushed for the entire time he was gone.

“Dad, I... I love you and Dean so much, don’t you think I’ll be ten times more helpful away at school. I could be your Watchtower and let you know where to hunt and how to hunt. Plus going away to school and eventually Law School could help this family out of a ton more legal scrapes than we get into. Plus, I’m only in school for eight months out of the year. For the four months of the summer. I’m all yours.” Sam said.

“It just feels like I don’t know what you’re getting into and it feels like it’s so far out of my control. I need more time.” John said.

“There’s never enough time when you hunt. There isn’t a moment to spare. Time is so important during a hunt.” Sam said, “This is the best time for me to go. Dean is in impeccable shape and so are you once you clean up and rest for a few days before the next hunt.”

“You’re leaving so much sooner than I thought you would.” John said.

“I know, but time flies when you’re having fun, even when you’re hunting. We’ve had the past two months to figure out all the logistics and you’re still being an old stick in the mud.” Sam said. John looked at his daughter and realized that she was right; Sam had wanted this for years. She studied even when they didn’t have time for school with his hunting schedule. Dean had wanted it too even though he was so much more excited about fighting off the next freak show.

“Just be careful, Sammy.” John said.

“I will Dad; I’m going to make sure I have the right protection with me at all times.” Sam said. Sam walked up to John and embraced her father. “If you need me, you’ll know where to find me.” Sam said.

“I know, Blue, I know.” John said. “Now go talk some sense into your brother so he knows you’ll be okay.” “Thanks Dad.”

Sam smiled and finished the hug and walked outside.

###

Dean was outside washing the Impala with his car stereo blaring and wasn’t paying attention to Sam coming up behind him, he was starting to sing and dance with the music when Sam came outside to talk to him. Sam smiled as she walked up, she slowly and stayed at his backside and then full on sprinted and jumped on his back.

Dean freaked out momentarily thinking it was some crazy demon but then realized that it was his 6’2” sister with freakishly long arms and legs wrapped around his torso. Dean smiled slyly and dropped to the ground backwards, and crushed Sam by sitting on top of her.

By falling backwards Sam had dropped to the ground harder than she expected. She smacked her head hard on the pavement. It had hit hard enough that she blacked out for a couple of minutes. When she came to, she saw Dean looking down at her with a concerned look but smug look on his face.

“Sammy, why did you jump up on me like that? You know you’re a huge oaf of a girl now and I can’t have you jumping on my back any more.” Dean said.

“So now I’m an oaf, at least I’m an oaf who isn’t afraid to put her life in danger for you, mister.” Sam replied. “I never asked you to put your life in danger.” Dean said.

“No it was always just implied, it’s in the Winchester coat of arms.” Sam said.

“Sam, don’t be such a cocksucker.” Dean said.

“Nice comeback, honestly.” Sam said.

Dean helped Sam back to her feet. Sam dusted off her jean shorts and checked her head, arms and legs for scratches and bruises.

“You’ll be fine Sam. Now it’s just those Stanford guys I’m worried about.” Dean said.

“Are you more worried for my sake or for theirs?” Sam replied.

“Theirs.” Dean said as he grabbed a handful of Sam’s hair and pulled and then jumped in his Impala and drove off.

###

Later that afternoon Dean found himself in one of his frequent drinking spots as of late to see if he could get his hands on some good hard liquor and maybe fancy his sex drive. He didn’t have to wait long until he saw a girl across the bar with blonde hair and ample cleavage. He had asked the bartender to buy this girl a drink and waited for her to receive it and then walk over to him and get close and personal. He then proceeded to flirt and buy her drink after drink until she was hanging all over him and shoving her bosoms in his face. He enjoyed every moment of it. Dean then half dragged half walked her out to the backseat of his car and did her until the cows came home.

Hours later after he had his fill he drove her home and dropped her off on her doorstep and then drove off. It wasn’t that he didn’t enjoy doing it. It just didn’t feel right with jetting off without hanging out with his sister on her last night before she moved to California. He drove back to the apartment and quietly messed with his keys and found the front door key and unlocked the door and entered the apartment.

There Sam was on the couch sleeping with the television on. He noticed that a blanket had been placed over top of her but it had slid off her and now half of it was on the floor. He walked over to her and repositioned the blanket so it covered her entirely. She hadn’t looked that peaceful in months.

All that worrying about not having a life, being able to go to school, and being a part of the “family business” had stressed her out to the point where some nights you knew she was having nightmares. She would scream out in these nightmares, act out what was happening, and even wake up breathing heavily and sweating, sometimes it got so bad that when she woke up she would be weeping. John knew some of what was going on but he didn’t push it beyond dreams. He didn’t want to freak her out even more than she already was, when she would have the nightmares. He and Dean would take turns each night to make sure that she would be okay and comfort her when she wasn’t. Sam would never want to talk about them. She would play them off the next day and say that nothing happened but both Dean and John knew that it was happening. Just as Dean was about to turn the television off he heard Sam say, “Hey, if I had known you wouldn’t have gotten home until now I wouldn’t have waited up.”

“You didn’t have to wait up.” Dean said.

“I know, but I wanted to make sure you were ok with me going away, and you taking on the brunt of the responsibility and making sure Dad would be ok.” Sam said.

“Isn’t that what the oldest kid is supposed to do?” Dean said.

“That so isn’t the point, Dean. In this family there is so much more responsibility attached to it.” Sam said.

“I know. I’m just messing with you.” Dean said. “Hey how are your dreams these days, any more nightmares?”

“No, not lately, the past couple were back in Yuma, when we were dealing with those unruly poltergeists.” Sam said.

“You’ll call me if they get bad again, right.” Dean asked.

“Of course I will, I’ll have to learn to somewhat manage some of the time, but I’ll let you know if they get bad again.” Sam said.

“Do you want to head back up to your bed?” Dean asked.

“Yea, I guess I should. Since you’re home now, you can be on watch then.” Sam said.

“Of course, I can do that, I have to be ready to go in the morning.” Dean said. Dean helped Sam up from the couch gave her a quick hug and kissed her on the forehead and shoved her upstairs. He then turned on one of the side table lamps and turned the television off and pulled out one of his knife blades and cleaning cloths and started to wipe down his blade.

“Hey Blue, Up you get. Stanford waits for no man.” John said.

“OR Woman!” Dean interjected.

Sam moaned and opened her eyes. She flung her legs over the side of her bed and grabbed her robe and walked into the bathroom. She looked at herself in the mirror and laughed at her crazy morning hair. She opened the medicine cabinet and pulled out her hairbrush, toothbrush and toothpaste and proceeded to brush her hair and teeth. She then washed, cleansed, and moisturised her face and put her usual amount of makeup eye shadow, mascara, and lip gloss on her face. She then braided her hair in the usual style, French braid front tied back with the rest of her hair loose and free. She then slipped on her slippers and headed downstairs. In the kitchen she saw her brother topless in his boxers and her father ready to go blue jeans, black t-shirt, socks.

“You know I would have thought that Dean would have been ready to get rid of me at this point, I’m such a nuisance.” Sam said.

“It only takes me like two seconds to change, Give me a break Sammy.” Dean said.

“You better get ready Dean, or Sammy here is going to eat your breakfast too.” John said.

“You’d think for a second that we were almost a normal family.” Sam said. Both Dean and John looked up from what they were doing, John attempting to make pancakes, and Dean trying to read his latest e-mail, to give Sam the look of, do not even bring that conversation up again.

“I know I’m sorry.” Sam said. “I guess I’ll go get ready so we can give Sammy the send off she deserves.” Dean said.

“Don’t be a jerk Dean, just do it.” John said.

“Pancakes, Dad, I can’t remember the last time I had homemade pancakes, that’s great, Thanks Dad.” Sam said.

“Oh, that’s not the only surprise Sam, you just wait.” John said.

Things That I Have Found Today Have Been Great!

So I spent 85% of my day today re-organizing my one book cart so that my Library Helpers can put the books away appropriately! Never Want to do that again, I have A TON of cataloguing to do!

I don't know if people have seen this video or not but it is awesome. It has pictures from the Life of Christ and it's put to Come Thou Fount it's very very good and very very well done. I like this version of Come Thou Fount.

I was also browsing the Time Out For Women board and found this blog posted about who we LDS people are Just for the Record

"I'm Pretty Sure Girls are Smarter Than Boys Because They Picked Us To Marry!"

Well I can't think of a better way to begin this blogging session without the 'QUOTE OF THE WEEK' It came from the principal at the one school I work at and he was talking to the kids on the Chess Team. I was like seriously, the greatest quote of the week!

I have been thinking a lot about my last post and sure I was a little hurt and maybe a little bitter I think I've just got to learn to get past it and forget about it. I've come to realize that I don't want to have any regrets and I don't regret what I wrote but It disappoints me that I felt that I SHOULD write it. Sure I value their friendship maybe a little more than others consider it but if they don't want to have me out and hang out with them that's perfectly fine. I can definitely think of other things to do from now on when things are happening. I can find a zillion things to do whether it be to go visit other people who want to hang out with me or find time to expand myself and get a better understanding of who I am.

The funniest part of all this is I can definitely think of other people to hang out with. I'm finding the more and more I'm out and working the more I'm talking to them and in the near future inviting them out to something awesome! Whatever it might be.

Anyway, this weekend should be exciting all the same. Elder Earl C. Tingey is Speaking at a fireside tonight and I think he's a pretty amazing speaker. I really value the last CES fireside broadcast that he spoke about The Simple Truths from Heaven - The Lords Pattern
Even if he talked about marriage there are a lot of things that he said in it that RING TRUE!

I can't think of anything else to write about right now. I'm just finding that slowly I'm coming out of being who I have been for so long that it feels nice that I care more about myself and what I can offer than judging the things that are beyond my control.

Musings of a Toe Hurtin, Library Door Chairperson, Idol Thinker

So Apparently I did something today and my large toe on my left foot is now probably bruised beyond measure.. and it hurts like no tomorrow

Apparenlty someone thinks that LDS people are better at singing than anyone else here. It's a good article but, I think may people will stick to the theory that we can sing and dance. We are Multi-Talented sometimes.

So There are currently two people who I do not enjoy at my job mainly because they either think they know everything or ask the dumbest questions.

For example the door to both libraries lead out into the hallways which is no big deal when the door is open and no one is in the hallway, however, I have learned to close the door when it gets super noisy in the hallway. I also close my door if it is warmer than it is in the hallway or cooler than it is in the hallway so that I can maintain the temperature of the library so either way it's open because i say "Welcome" or "Closed, But You Can Come In!" I just either want to keep the noise at a minimum or the temperature at a good temperature. So yesterday the school's boilers didn't work at all which made the school "ICE COLD" so when it did kick back in I wanted to retain what LITTLE heat I had left and this Bullying Teacher (Who doesn't bully, but teaches about bullying) came in and said "Why Is The Door Closed" I replied "Because It's warmer in here than in the Hallway" and she basically looked at me like I was crazy!

I have another story about an EA here at this other school but I'll leave it for another day.

So Things I am Looking Forward to

1. TOFW (Time Out for Women) approx 67 days until then, still looking into hotel room, should do it soon!

2. I Get Paid Tomorrow (YAY!) it's not a big pay but it will go towards some wonderful things including helping Dad and buying gas for my car!

3. Juno - 21 Days Until DVD comes out!

4. Still Reading A Perfect Gentle Knight - Kit Pearson (All Sorts of Love for this Book)

5. (a hard days night, pride and prejudice (BBC Version), Breaking Dawn, Sisterhood of the travelling pants - paperbacks!, new camera) - list of things to purchase

6. I want to dress up my blog a bit but don't really know how, and I do want to take new pics.. but I don't know when, I'll have to figure that out!

7. The School Day is Almost Over - 3 minutes left.

8. I put all the books that have been catalogued on the "New Book Rack" today! GO ME!

9. I found 33 books that I will shortly be cataloguing via AMICUS (also known as the cataloguing lifesaver) so I don't have to do all the cataloguing myself!

that's it for now. how is everyone else!?!?

So When Did you See a Cow Walk to Toronto

So a cattle truck tipped over this morning on one of the major highways to Toronto and caused utter chaos this morning for those on their way to work. Some news stories can be found here. The Results of the Cattle Crawl can also be found there. They rescued three cows and shot the forth because it was charging at people. Which In regards to animal cruelty in is sad but what else are you supposed to do when a cow is charging after you besides RUN! apparently they just didn't get to the tranquillizer gun in time and ended up shooting him.

Thank You, American Idol!

Well, I was driving to work this morning and I normally have my radio off because I like to think about things and not every day of the week but maybe three out of the five days of the business week or I have my MP3 Player plugged in and I'm listening to that.

So I'm listening to the radio station that I normally listen to on my way to work and this guy goes on about how he was reading someone's bio who was probably one of the top 10 or 12 or whatever and he says that Jesus didn't have anything to do with him/her getting to American Idol. We shouldn't take the time to thank Jesus publicily and it's not necissary for us to thank him and pray and go to church and stuff.

I literally was like, Seriously on a Radio Station at 8 am in the morning you want to say that God shouldn't be thanked when people are starting to be successful and they have a strong faith in the Guidance from God why shouldn't they thank him!

OH here's a fun link for the day about SHOUTING IN EMAIL and how to prevent it

Other than that it's been a pretty uneventful day. I didn't want to get out of bed this morning because it was so warm and after an entire day in the school with COLD I didn't know what to expect when I got to my second school today, FORTUNATELY it's nice and not to warm so I can function so much better today.

Fortunately it's also the last day of the week since tomorrow is GOOD FRIDAY! Which Is Excellent!
I don't get it!

So I was recently hired in January by the school board in my region as a library technician and I recently received an email from one of the computer technicians with the school board who told me that my H: drive was oversized so I was at the one school I work at yesterday and got rid of and deleted old files. Then I emailed the computer technician back and told her that it was taken care of and I then received an email back stating that it was at the other school.

So today when I was at the other school today and found file after file, file folder after file folder and image after image on the computer that the previous to the previous library technician had probably put on the computer.

My question to you is. if you knew you were going to be at a different school than the original school you were at the next year wouldn't you delete all the files you didn't need anymore so that the new person to the job wouldn't have to go through all the files, folders, etc. and not know what was important and not know what to delete and waste her time figuring out what to do next.

I emailed the previous to the previous library technician to see what she would have to say we'll see what happens and I'll post again with the results!

(original post accidently deleted)

Not Afraid to Share a Bit of Myself

So I was walking into Wal-mart Tonight and there was a booth set up for Girl Guide Cookies and of course the first thing I thought was I miss not only eating those cookies but selling those cookies. I might even consider getting some this year so that I can hold onto a little bit of some goodness that was amazing. It's unfortunate that the original maker of the cookies didn't continue making them for the Girl Guides.

Last Night

Last Night I attended a YSA fireside in Brampton and the speakers were the Former Temple President and His Wife and they spoke about how important Education Is and also Public Affairs of the Church in regards to Correcting Incorrect information as well as promoting the church in a positive light through positive things.

On December 15, 2007 Elder M. Russell Ballard (whom I have personally come in contact with in at least the past 6 months through another YSA (Young Single Adult) Fireside spoke at the Commencement at BYU-Hawaii and spoke about the fact that we can make such a huge impact on what we say and what we present online about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We can't afford to present messages that defile this church in any way or present untrue thoughts or comments because all we really want to do is present that this church does good, it helps people, it supports people, and it provides a good positive way of life. The talk can be found here.

One quote that doesn't cease to amaze me is this

"Now some of these tools -- like any tool in an unpracticed or an undisciplined hand -- can be dangerous. The Internet can be used to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and can just as easily be used to market the filth and sleaze of pornography. iTunes can be used to download uplifting and stirring music or the worst kind of anti-social lyrics, full of profanity. Social networks on the Web can be used to expand healthy friendships as easily as they can be used by predators trying to trap the unwary. That is no different from how people choose to use television or movies or even the library. Satan is always quick to exploit the negative power of new inventions, to spoil and to degrade and to neutralize any effect for good. Make sure that the choices you make in the use of new media are choices that expand your mind, increase your opportunities, and feed your soul."

Now with all this said, The Temple President's wife showed us a brief clip from the website about where do we come from and spoke with us about the fact that even if the church look my look difficult to access on the outside it doesn't hurt to ask someone, phone someone up to clarify something that has transpired, ask if something is available because from that doors will open and opportunities will arrive in any situation religious or not.

Now With that being said, I don't want you to think that I'll shove my religion down your throats I just want you to know that I am normal and I like watching movies, writing in my blog, good music, watching Heroes, Pushing Daisies, Gilmore Girls, and having friends. But I do not mind answering any questions. I don't have all the answers but I'm willing to at least give it a shot and try and find an answer or even ask someone else to help me find the answer. I do want you to know that I will not judge your questions and it's my hope that you judge me in return.

We are all different and we all have the opportunity to share what we have to offer. This post is in reference to that I'm sharing a part of myself that not only should be shared but this experience can provide you with insight to a great Sunday I had :)
