Time to unwind
It’s been a year.
A year of highs, lows and some in betweens.
This year I released two books (parts three and four of the Wilder Hearts series), which are doing pretty well, and finding new readers.
I also finished writing book five, which my beta readers are now devouring. I adore this couple, my most adventurous pair, and I can’t wait for you to meet them.
I started two secret projects, which I will share more information about next year, and it was SO fun to meet new characters, explore new destinations and most importantly fall in love all over again!
I got my books into several (lovely) independent bookstores and I’m looking forward to getting into more in 2026.
Here’s the series so far, all together for the first time!
Behind the scenes, I was dealing with job insecurity, tendonitis, and a torn rotator cuff.
My manager at the time (and mentor) said some very wise words to me, admidst the turmoil. You are where you’re meant to be.
And I didn’t really understand that at the time. I thought how can this be true?
However, each of those things taught me something.
I was forced to reflect on what I wanted and needed from a job, and what I would do to make sure I got it.
The tendonitis and rotator cuff injury meant that I was forced to slow down. Less racing around. Less taking on more than I could handle. And less time writing (it can be all consuming).
I also had my own mantra. Trust the process.
So that’s what I did.
And it worked.
As we head into the last few days of the year, I can look back and see that I learnt a lot.
I was fortunate enough to secure a new job, with an incredible team, and an equally supportive manager. After all I’ve been through this year, I’m so grateful, and I’m working harder (but smarter) than ever, training my new team and building new working relationships.
I am also not taking my health for granted. I’ve learnt what my body is capable of and the value of building rest, relaxation, and regular exercise into my routine.
And most importantly, I do believe that you are always where you are meant to be.
And right now, I am unwinding, and spending quality time with my loved ones.
I hope you are too, and I’m so grateful for you.
Wishing you love, light and happiness over the festive season.
This tree is at Leeds Castle, near Maidstone, in the UK and it is breathtaking. I adore Christmas trees, and I wanted to share this one with you.
