so today marks my tenth year anniversary on livejournal. well not on livejournal per se but on this community. I am pretty sure you cannot see that original post anymore, due to the whole photobucket shebang but I have a tiny teensy shot for you of it that will be deleted as soon as you open it here :3 be aware that I mean this was 10 years ago, hopefully i've improved my icon making skills since then!

lots have changed in the past 10 years (except my college situation which it's still a damn mess!) Nicole left livejournal so this community has become my own, eventually I will switch communities cause this one doesn't really feel my own anymore.
but that said I wanted to celebrate this achievement I decided to somehow recreate that post (and I'm actually pretty shocked at the caps / images i've choose: cause they're pretty close!)

Okay so I got back into icon making and I signed up for way too many challenges at some point I wasn't even sure if I was gonna finish them all and yet here we are.
So basically my Tom Hiddleston situation was extra bad this year, I basically watched every movie with him and shows, and seriously I would have paid good money to see him doing Hamlet in September but alas I didn't have the chance.
I feel like the combo Tom Hiddleston + Shakespeare is a match made in heaven tbh so my claim for character20n20 was ofc the hollow crown which I strongly suggest you all to watch if you haven't already.

yeah!
it's me! after more than an year, damn it feels so weird to be back but I (kind of) am. I don't even remember how to make a post on here /oh dear.
okay so I stopped making icons at some point, mainly because I didn't have a laptop that worked. Now I do (YAY!) I also decided to invest in a graphic tablet (though I'm still a bit rusty) but anyway I have, obviously, an icon dump to show you.
Most of these icons are really old, like an year old!
I suddenly felt the urge to go back to icon making so I am kind of experimenting once again: which basically in my language means it's a huge mess!
In my last post I shared the intention of switching communities, which I'll do at some point, I need to get everything ready first. ugh time's not on my side unfortunately.

So I am literally obsessed with ~~Constantine~~MATT RYAN. It's such a shame the show got canceled after only 13 episodes (which i have rewatched three times already since I came across the show in July!) FYI there's a petition here hoping that someone else will pick it up. I MEAN after that Arrow episode last week we all know how valuable John is, amirite?
that said, I finished my claim for character20n20 which is rather shocking I KNOW! I am not totally fond of most of these, but that'll do for now.

whoa. it feels like i've been pregnant, considering how long it took me to make a new icon post. NINE MONTHS! insane if you ask me. but lots have happened in these months (truth to be told: I'm still trying to figure out my life but ehi!)

So, long time no see uh?!
I guess we can say i had a icon maker block, that's still there. I just have other ways to express my ps creativity (if we wanna call it that way lol)

i was on twitter and i wanted to make a battle with someone so i just tweeted it and i honestly didn't expect to receive a reply from ofthesea who's, if you don't know that, the first icon maker i started to follow here on lj. (and for follow i mean: commenting her posts and snagging all of her icons)
so i was really shocked lol mainly because i've been wanting to make an icon battle with her for AGES. and i am really glad we ended up making it :D

so i've been neglecting lj for too long (the whole layout even changed what is this fuckery?) so I decided it was time for an update.

Allright this is basically the best challenge ever.
When I asked to absolutelybatty to make this battle I thought she'd say "no thanks" and instead she was super cute and adorable and I made her wait way too much for it (wifi problems and all that jazz lol) but I mean in the end it was kind of awesome, though looking at her icons hurt so much cause DAMN the pretty things she makes! (she also made the coding so I basically haven't done anything at all :P)

(my AU one is kinda tricky. cause it's a "they live happily ever after" au as a family - despite being cursed and all that lol)

it appears to me that the only show I can icon lately is Ouat (which is why me and absolutelybatty are making an ouat challenge: like fav icon maker ever and she said YES! I am still fangirling over it lol)
these are for my claim over once20in20 and it's weird to see there's little of Hook, and so much of Regina, I guess you can say I am rewatching Once Upon a Time from s1 and well Regina was a total bamf (still is though!) but i never actually made icons on her.

This year I didn't have enough time to make a best of 2013, but I still wanted to do something ~cool cause I really miss being on lj (I actually need to come back a bit more)
So I decided to make a post of all my fav icons during this year with a bit of a explanations and my next year resolutions regarding icon making :)

JANUARY

nothing special about these icons really. Though I actually used lots of light blobs setted on screen back then. You might say I had an obsession.

FEBRUARY

slightly better post if you ask me. I started to pay more attention to colorings and to work with the cap before even adding a coloring on top. Also that was the phase when I made lots of contests in italian forums lol

MARCH

the most uninspired month of the year tbh. I actually made these icons for a challenge and ugh I still dislake them all.

APRIL

sort of productive month where I started using textures FOR REAL. Though I kinda use the same coloring for all of these icons so not really that special.

M A Y

best month of the year for my muse. Idek why but ehi I still like all the icons I made during may not only I made an amazing battle with sky_magenta but I also entered two different challenges.
I think the whole concept of this month was: e x p e r i m e n t. both with colors and textures.

SEPTEMBER

still one of my fav batch of the year. It was really hard to pick just 3 icons, still I was trying to improve my use of lights but I was pretty much obsessed with the same texture lol also the amount of negative space in this batch is scary

OCTOBER

this is the batch of elite communities basically. Nothing special here, except for oh look LIGHTS again. Also I tried to use the graphic tablet tecnique (without having one ops)

NOVEMBER

this was just the post of the huge mess. really. there is no link whatsoever to these icons, they've been randomly put in the same post. but ehi i kinda like them because they express how much I don't want to be scheduled in one type of icons only and how much I want to improve at icon making, by using different tecniques and experiment more.

DECEMBER

actually I should have posted it sooner but I kinda forgot about it /sorry but these are the icons I made this month (all OUAT related I am afraid) and half of these xmas related icons :P

resolutions for the new year:
- make one icon a day. (that's gonna be a challenge)
- trying to find new shows to watch and to icon (if you have any good one to advice go ahead!)
- improving my non use of text, cause I suck at it.
- COMMENTING on other people's posts.
- using different tecniques.
- make more icon battle.
- and more 20in20.
