Okay, this is SO cool!!!!

For those of you who don't know, I do a LOT of writing. It is my number one passion. I love writing fiction, but I do a lot of writing on the side for profit, such as SEO writing, essays, and reviews. Well, my husband and I recently put together our collaberative online concert review website, as he does photography for shows and we figured we could work my writing into it as well.

Our site is 1013 Music Reviews. 1013 is our anniversary date, just as a side note. I have written the majority of the reviews on the site and the other night, we went to go see the Swedish heavy metal band, Ghost. My husband is a HUGE Ghost fan, so this was great for him. We got lots of photos and did the review.

Well, today, Ghost's publicist got back to us and said she just loved the review! Totally made my day! She had a lot of nice things to say about it and I was just so happy because a professional involved with the actual band said they enjoyed it.

Got a job!!!!

Yes, got one. It's serving at The Macaroni Grill. They have benefits (which I really need) and good pay. Plus, it's close to home and they have a lot of training. So keeping fingers crossed that I do well and this works out.

In celebration of such good news, I have decided to do a few wallpaper requests.

DETAILS:
The first five people that make requests, get them. After that, requests close, so please do not ask after that. They may open later, but for now, I can only do five requests. You may only make one request.

Tell me your favorite ship or character or fandom creation. It can be of any fandom or real life ship or fake one that you simply adore. It can also be slash or femslash, I have no issues there. That's all you need to do. Except if it is something like a book that doesn't have an official cast, which in that case, I'll need you to send me a specific cast.

After that, I'll put my media player on shuffle and use lyrics from the first song to pop up as the lyrics in the art.

Please note: I pick the images for the artwork. Please do not send me specific images of characters (for example) as I pick the images I can use to make the wallpaper look the right way.

Hi everyone,

Crossover

My Tears: This is a pretty simple piece of Dean and Buffy having to split up, due to his life on the road and their clashing lives overall. I used these words to work in Buffy's feelings,, as well as the darker tones.

Something Fatal: “Meet The New Boss” is the only episode of Supernatural past season four that I watched and the only reason I liked it was because Castiel was all evil. I don’t care for Castiel, but his evil version is fun as Hell. So when I came across the caps of him in this episode, due to my Buffy/Supernatural crossover mood, I thought of how fun and psychotic it would be if Castiel were to kill Buffy. It would be like how she felt when Angel killed her friends because of how much she cared for him when he was good.

Sushi Pajamas: This is just a fun piece. I love the whole sushi pajama line in the episode, so I just wanted to do a silly wall based around the line.

Walking Away: Here’s another angsty, more lonesome piece. It was late at night when I made this and it really fit the setting I was in at the time. I just wanted to show Buffy thinking of Dean leaving time and time again to go on the road. I didn’t necessarily mean to make it look as if they were broken up or anything, rather, just apart for large amounts at a time, which hurts both of them. I used the blue tones to enhance the mood.

Doctor Who

Have No Fear: This piece is based upon the scene in Doctor Who in which River in forced to murder The Doctor. The thing about it is that it is shown in two different timelines, so River sees herself kill him without knowing it is her. I used the brighter more crazy colors than I usually do because I wanted to emphasize the chaos and panic of the scene. Also, to emphasize that emotion, I hid the reactions within the attempted regeneration of The Doctor, so everything is very blurred, as it would be if a person saw a loved one die. I used the nursery rhyme of The Sandman, as I really liked these lines. The Doctor knew what was going to happen and made it so no one interfered with what would happen. He made it seem okay, as if they had nothing to fear.

The Man Who Fell to Earth

A Place I Know Well: I decided to do a piece on the film, "The Man Who Fell to Earth". The movie is based on Thomas Jerome Netwon (played by David Bowie) who is an alien from a dying planet. To help save his family and planet, he goes to Earth to obtain water. He is an extreme loner, despite his bizarre relationships and eccentric as all get out.
I used the imagery I did in this piece to portray both sides of him - his real alien look and his human disguise. Through this, I hoped to show his loneliness, as he doesn't belong on Earth and misses his family terribly.

Twin Peaks

Lust for Flesh: In this piece, I continued on my Twin Peaks kick and used the lyrics about the Phantom being a murderer in reference to BOB. I'll shorten this for those who haven't seen it - Twin Peaks is about the murder of Laura Palmer, who was killed by BOB. BOB is evil incarnate and possesses people, making it difficult to ascertain who exactly killed her. I used the image of BOB to show him in his true form, the image of Cooper to show the person who gives his life, and pretty much his soul, to finding her killer, and the image of Laura to tie it all together. I used the happy image of Laura versus that of her dead body because I found the image of a happy girl who was eventually killed much sadder. It shows that she would have had a life to live more than that of her dead image.
I used the black and white on the more evil imagery to really purify Laura's soul and the happiness of her fake life, rather than the horror of what was really going on.

Spare a Thought for Me:This is based upon the characters and coupling of Donna and James in the show. These two are a pair you are really rooting for in the show, as they were best friends with Laura, who was murdered, and are mourning her death throughout. However, when Laura's cousin is murdered in the same fashion, James can no longer handle living in the town and leaves Twin Peaks, as well as Donna. The scene is so sad.
I used the blue colors to show the sad mood and also added in a lot of caps of the town to show how the town is a large reason behind why they are so sad.

For those wondering what the hell is going on with me, as I know some of you have, my job has kept me SUPER busy, as has my writing. I have been working for a month, but don't get my first paycheck until the 31st, due to the whole getting paid every two weeks and having to wait a while for the first one. That way, when people quit or leave or whatever, the company still owes them a check. It's kind of a fucking crazy job. It's all based around me dealing with those who do not want to pay their bills. Not those that CANNOT pay them, but do all they can to not have to pay them. It's ridiculous. I am all about personal responsibility and want to always make sure my bills are paid, as it is my responsibility. It makes me sick when there are people out there who literally think they should be able to just get loans or charge stuff and never pay the fee (I'm not even talking interest) back. Hate it. You're not children.

So when I come home and still have about five to six hours of the writing as my second job to do, sleeping is my next priority. Hence, the lack of communication, arts, caps, and more...

American Psycho

Something Illusionary: This wallpaper depicts the character of Patrick Bateman in the book "American Psycho". I'm a huge fan of Bret Easton Ellis' work, so this wallpaper made me happy. For those unfamiliar with the book or film, Bateman is a Wall Street yuppie that can essentially do no wrong. In his spare time, he kills people. And no one believes him, even upon confession, because he doesn't LOOK like that type of person. The movie really does the book no justice because there is like, 3% of the violence from the book in the film. It's crazy. But for this piece, I used a lotus especially because a lotus symbolizes change. It's like, one of the easiest symbols to use in art.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Supernatural Crossovers

Collateral Damage: On a Buffy/Dean kick. Roughly based upon Dana's Tumblr piece HERE, only with some different imagery when it comes to Dean, and a different storyline in my head, this piece is based upon the aftermath of what happens to hunters and slayers - the bad aftermath. Buffy is hospitalized with her mind gone and Dean mourns her lost life.

Lost in the Dark: Based upon Buffy coming back from the dead and Dean seeing her for the first time since her death and also based upon Dana's original Tumbr piece HERE. I went with these lyrics because I felt they really fit Buffy's whole feeling when she was lost throughout this time period and how Dean would have felt when he was without her.

This Can Never Be: Basic couple pairing piece, not too much to it. I liked the wording because it shows that due to the lives they lead, the two can never have a happy life. Hence, all the blood.

Doctor Who

Animie Amy: I love animie art - I just think it's so pretty and really have been working on trying to learn how to make animie art in Photoshop. This is like, a third attempt, so it's getting a bit better, but still kind of sucks at the same time, lol. It's based upon Amy Pond in Doctor Who. She's super pretty and fun to play with in art. Love the red hair.

Millenium Trilogy

With No Cause: This is based upon the character of Lisbeth Salander from the Millenium Trilogy. By now, I'm sure people are pretty familiar with her character, but in case you are not, I thought she would be good for this challenge because she has a very rough exterior, but is incredibly broken inside. Her outsides are basically her armor, wrapped around her to keep herself safe and keep people from harming her, as she has been physically and sexually abused by nearly everyone in her life since she was a child. The piece was inspired by those that used the same image repeatedly in the past. I always wanted to do a piece like that and this seemed to work out well.

Miscellaneous

Breathe: Made for a challenge at the Buffyforums regarding spirituality. This is based on the afterlife option. I am Catholic, but I really have a love for Buddhist ideals. The idea that we move onto a different life after death is something that I really feel to be true. To show that off, I decided to show Sarah Michelle Gellar as a typical woman in two different lives. I thought these two images were pretty different, as she appears to be pretty culturally different in each. I used her because she is kind of the heroine of this forum. Plus, she's beautiful and fun to art. I used this line because it just popped in my head and seemed to relate well to the afterlife and different lives because they are lives we live and breathe.

Sons of Anarchy

Always On My Mind: For this piece, I went with Jax and Tara from Sons of Anarchy. For those that watch it, they get this. The two couldn't be more different, but are totally in love. Jax is a criminal in a motorcycle gang, basically going nowhere fast. No matter how much people like his character, they have to understand that because half his time is spent in prison or committing crimes. Tara, on the other hand, is a pediatric surgeon who has done all she can to stay away from Jax, but ends up moving back to the small town they grew up in and getting back together with him. That's why I used these lyrics, because no matter what, these two came back to each other.
I used the brush of the brown flower because I don't consider their relationship in any way healthy. I love both characters, but I find it sickening that they raise little kids in such an environment, especially when they see nothing changing in the future. Maybe that is from growing up around real gangs versus the watered down version on this show, I don't know, but it changes my outlook on them a lot. It's another reason why I put a lot of brown in this, as a sign of decay.

Supernatural

A Broken Girl: I personally always liked Bela. She had that whole badass girl thing going and acted as if she cared about nothing. However, on the inside, she was just a frightened little girl, as she had been severely abused as a child. So I found her to be great for this challenge. I used a decaying flower as a metaphor for her over the years, as her innocence was entirely stripped away from her.

Deception, Misery, & Shame: This piece was for a challenge at the Buffyforums. So, I wanted to try to utilize the idea of a couple piece in this challenge. Although Sam and Ruby are not considered the typical couple, I still consider them a pair - a really opposite, messed up pair. She's an evil demon and he is a hunter, so he's supposed to kill her and doesn't. Instead, he trusts her, befriends her, and goes as far as sleeping with her.
As she turns on him, showing herself as a liar, I decided on the theme of deception in this piece. A color that symbolizes deception is turquoise, so I used that color along with colors close to it.

True Blood

I'll Attack: This is based on the fifth season of "True Blood" and the scene in which Sookie basically fought off Pam. She was trying to get some info out of Pam (not saying too much to avoid spoilers) but Pam threw her across the club. Those familiar with the show know how strong the vampires are and Pam basically threw her clean across the room. I personally like Pam WAY more than Sookie, but I still loved when Sookie turned it around on her and used her fairy powers on her, sending Pam flying into the other side of the club.
The reason I felt this fit well with this challenge is that Sookie rarely uses her power. So she seems to have been pushed to that kind of "screw you" edge where she wanted power over the individual making her a victim. These lyrics seem to fit very well too because they speak about someone attacking against someone who hurts them. I used the colors I did to emphasize both the anger, passion, and fantasy involved in this scene. The sparkly texture was kind of accidental and I decided I really liked it because her powers stem from fairy roots. Finally, for those that don't watch the show and wonder why part of this is so light is because Sookie really lights up when she uses her fairy powers. I originally was going to darken it down, but it took away from the overall feel.

Twin Peaks

The Memory of Me: This is based upon the character of Laura Palmer from the TV show Twin Peaks. For those who haven't seen it, the whole basis of the show is the question of who killed Laura Palmer. Laura is known in the small town as the homecoming queen and the town's little golden girl. She is perfect. However, beneath her looks, she is emotionally tortured by years of sexual abuse, pushing her into a life of drug abuse and prostitution. These are all things that come out as the show progresses, making the character incredibly interesting. I used the anemone flower as my flower because the anemone symbolizes the forsaken. I feel she is very much a forsaken character because no one cared enough for her to help her, to the point where she was murdered.

An Image Below: Made for a black and white art challenge via the Buffyforums. Okay, I have been on the craziest Twin Peaks kick lately and I wish someone else on here was nuts about it like me because this would be more fun. But I have decided to do art of it anyway because I love it. I thought this would be excellent for this challenge because the whole show is about murder, and what does black symbolize more than death?

For those who haven't seen it, Twin Peaks is all about a girl that was murdered, Laura Palmer. It is found that she was not murdered by one of the people of the town, per se, but by a demon that possesses the people named BOB. BOB is pure evil. He is only pictured a few times and in this case, he is shown alongside Leland Palmer, the father of Laura, and a very respected man in the town. When he looks in the mirror, he sees Bob and his entire persona begins to change. He then proceeds to kill Maddie, Laura's cousin, which is what is shown in the piece. Throughout the scene, the character of Leland warps to that of BOB to show who is actually responsible for her death versus who is committing the physical act.

X-Files

How Can I Resist?: Ahh, my second favorite pairing of all time - Mulder and Scully. These two are the picture of a strange couple (they're a couple - face it). Scully is a COMPLETE skeptic and Mulder believes in the most bizarre things imaginable. I mean, I believe in things, but some of the stuff he says, I just burst out laughing.
Still, these two would do anything for one another and they are so incredibly different. I used the lily for strictly personal reasons. I find the lily to be a beautiful flower, much like their relationship. I just love both things. I also used a stock of lightning to kind of symbolize the difference between the two of them.

- Animal Magnetism: The Scorpions
You get me loose. I want you - it's all I do.
This song is kind of a dirty little theme song for these two, as far as I am concerned. It's a rather unknown Scorpions song, except to those who listen to all of the Scorpions songs, but I feel it is a fantastic song. It also has a rather creepy haunting feel to it as well.

- Dissolved Girl: Massive Attack
Shame, such a shame. I think I kind of lost myself yesterday. Need a little love to ease the pain.
This is a song I feel Dean would sing about Buffy. This seems like the relationship they would have on the road, meeting up once and a while just to make each other feel more human than they are.

- Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps): David Bowie
She could have been a killer if she didn't walk the way she do. And she opened strange doors that we'll never close again.
Song is totally about Buffy. I could see Dean giving her crap about it if they heard it in the Impala.

- Crazy on You: Heart
Let me go crazy, crazy on you.
I think this is an easy one to figure out. I love this because it's a classic rock song (Supernatural, cough) and fits these two in happier times very well.

- This Magic Moment: Lou Reed
This magic moment - so different and so new, was like any other until I met you.
This song always reminds me of a couple meeting, obviously. This is from David Lynch's film, Lost Highway, and is my personal favorite version of the song because it has a very different feel than the other versions.

- It's Just Begun: She Wants Revenge
In a dark room with our secrets, thinking no one sees, but still, they always know. Whisper to me softly, "I'm your's."
She Wants Revenge has now become one of my favorite bands EVER, so they had to be included on this deal. This song seemed well fitting for when hunter meets slayer, what with their secrets and all.

- Forget That You're Young: The Raveonettes
Can I fall awake now?
This song is so relaxing and beautiful, in my opinion. It seems something that if I was to write about these two, it would be featured in a time when they had no hunts to do and were calm and collected.

- Pinky's Dream: David Lynch feat. Karen O
Please, Pinky, watch the road.
This song always reminded me of driving around in the middle of the night. Which any Supernatural fan will immediately associate with the boys and the Impala. I could see the two of them riding around and Buffy telling him to constantly watch the road.

- New Low: Middle Class Rut
How did I get so far from where I was? When did I decide to lose my way? Who have I become?
I see this song as being one that occurs in the darker side of this couple.

- Die With Me: Type O Negative
Girl, I want to die with you in each other's arms. If this was the last time, could I hold you all life long?
This works for this couple in the sadder times, when either one of them dies.

- The Killing Moon: Echo & the Bunneymen
So cruelly you kissed me - your lips a magic world.
Love this song. It works on so many levels. For these two, I see it working for happier times, when they get to ignore the world around them.

- A Ghost: I'm one of those that absolutely LOVED Willow and Tara, so I found this scene to be so heartbreaking. And as much as I understood Amber Benson's reasons for not wanting to have The First show up as Tara, I thought that was such a fantastic route not taken, that I decided to do it through fanart. So here we are. I like that I was able to do the manip on her face, as I found that shot so frightening that I feel it would have taken a lot from it had it not been there. That part is in black and white because it is the evil realization part, where there is pretty much nothing good going on at all. It's just fear and evil.

Supernatural

- In Exchange For You: I think it's quite obvious why I chose this scene for this wallpaper. These lyrics describe sacrifice and these ones in particular really sound like the way that the whole family makes deals with demons to pull back their loved ones. I always wanted to make a better wall of this because my older ones were...not good. I was thinking of using some textures or stock on this, but whenever I tried, it really pulled away from the atmosphere of the piece.

- Wandering The Streets: I thought these lyrics really screamed Sam's character during Dean's time in Hell. I was so happy with how they portrayed his character during this time because they made it SO dark and realistic. They just made him completely lost and inhuman without Dean. It was GREAT! So I used the darker tones and lyrics for this one.

True Blood

- From Dark Water: So, for those of you who have been following along with this season, Tara was turned into a vampire - WHICH SHE HATES. I have always loved this character and never cared for the fact that people rip on her on a constant basis. She's been a victim throughout the series and since the series is basically based upon the predators, I feel the sympathy for victims is often lost. She is finally no longer a victim, due to her vamperism, but she despises what she is, due to her past of being raped and brutalized by them. So she takes it upon herself to commit suicide by burning herself alive in a tanning bed. This is the end of the last episode, so I honestly don't believe that she'll be dead.
Here's some technical stuff - I really attribute these lyrics to suicide. Maybe it's because I am clinically depressed and such lyrics really jump out at me, but this is what I feel these lyrics are all about. When it comes to the composition, I originally was going to do all black and white because that is how Tara feels about vampires. I also was not going to add any fire, but I felt it worked better than adding the caps of her burning. It really gives it a more extreme effect. Plus, I had the color of the fire because it is so intense.

Info: When I read these lyrics, I was really struggling to find a good subject. Finally, I just decided to art someone who is oblivious to love. This wall is based on the second series of Doctor Who and the relationship between The Doctor and Rose. It is blatantly obvious to anyone watching the show that Rose has romantic feelings for The Doctor, but he seems incredibly oblivious to it, up to a given point. It's a pretty simple wall, overall. I arted parts of their relationship in this specific episode that I really liked, more of their happier moments.

Info: Another "Mulholland Drive" piece. This one is rather dark, despite the brighter colors. They do serve a purpose, however. The film confuses a great number of people, as the first half of the film is a dream, so nearly every person, including the main character, has a different name, life, and more. It is the dream of the main character and she is happy and successful in it, in sharp contrast to her real life, in which she is a part of the shady side of Hollywood and living a terribly sad life. It is amazing how different they make Naomi Watts look in the film when her character switches into real life.
The whole 'nameless' aspect of the lyrics was used due to her character being named Betty in her fantasy life and Diane in real life. Although she is not nameless, she is unhappy with who she is and reinvents herself with a different name and existence. The black and white image is the image of her as Betty, in her dream where she is happy. I did it in black and white, as it is false and a dream. The other two images are of her in real life (see the major difference) and used the reddish tones to symbolize her feelings in real life, which consist mainly of anger, guilt, and hatred. They are extremely passionate in that aspect. I also blurred the colors and covered parts of her face to symbolize the mixture of her two identities.

Info: Season four of Supernatural was the last season of the show that I really enjoyed. I am hoping some day that I will get into the rest of the seasons because I really enjoy the artwork that comes from the show. When I read the lyrics for this song, I was trying to think of a relationship that was basically based upon nothing but a night together, not real love. Several came to mind, but then I decided upon Sam and Ruby. I personally really liked the whole Sam and Ruby dynamic because it was just so messed up and I really liked the character of Ruby.
I remember when this episode aired and all these people gave Sam's character crap about sleeping with Ruby, not in regards to her being a demon, but simply because he was sad. I find it strange that a lot of people don't like to admit that when they are mourning, they crave closeness from others, whether it be through sex or another way, no matter who it is. I thought this scene was a really good way to show how human he was.
The colors are darker, rather than a firey red passionate because I felt that it was more mournful than anything. He needed her simply to feel. That's another reason why I added in the black and white image, to show that there really was nothing behind the act other than that.

I went with these colors for the colors of blood and veins. If I could, I would have used a LOT more lyrics because I felt the entire song would have worked with these characters, but I'm not good at arting a whole bunch of lyrics.

Info: Okay, the goal of this wall was to find a tragic female character. I found that the lyrics just screamed that, so I was looking around for one. I was going through films and came across "Veronika Decides to Die" in which Sarah Michelle Gellar's character, Veronika, attempts suicide at the beginning of the film, only to get some fatal news upon waking in the hospital. I really played around with the placement in this one because I wanted to show the step by step of taking the pills. I also needed to show her overall collapse afterwards, so I think this worked out nicely. The coloring was also an issue, as I was battling between black and white and color, only to come out with this really dark, depressing feel. I like it better than black and white.

Info: Faith is one of my favorite characters in the Buffyverse and I always wanted to do a wallpaper of this scene. Somehow, I was able to piece this one together today. I found the lyrics in this song to be very fitting for Faith and it took a while for me to decide on which ones to use. I originally planned on making this piece more complex, with images of her crimes faded into it, however, I found that the more simplistic look worked better. The neutral tones seemed to convey a feeling of peace that she had in being punished what she had done.

Info: This piece may look like a couple piece at first, but it was not meant to be that way. Originally, I heard these lyrics and they reminded me of Buffy, as she doesn't scare easy. So the first thing I had was the lyrics and basically built around them. I decided to make a manipulation of Buffy to make her look more feminine in the ballroom gown because it is the exact opposite of what one would think of when they think of a tough and strong woman.
In regards to Buffy's life, I found this texture from All Night Noise to be of great usage. A red bleeding broken flower - my mind can create SO many things with this. It represents both the love and sadness in her life. I added Angel to this slightly to show one part of her life that I feel the lyrics and imagery work well with.

Info: This song just screamed as theme of death to me, specifically suicide. However, when it comes to Buffy, I never considered the end of season five to be a suicide, rather a sacrifice. There's the Christian in me, as I have always been taught the difference, lol. But yeah, that's why I used this song for this scene. It really reminded me of it. The whole "pocket full of stones" thing seemed very suicidal to me and the whole water theme was very death themed as water is the bringer of both life and death.

Info: I think this is the point that I stopped enjoying the show as much as I did. Not because I wasn't used to Joss ripping our hearts out on a season basis (if not more), but I felt Willow changed SO much after this happened and I adore that character. I also really loved Tara because she reminded me a lot of myself when I was in school and how she later blossomed and was happy. I loved their relationship SO much.
Technically, I did this with as much negative space as possible to convey the feel of the scene. I also put a little black and white (barely viewable) image of Willow and Tara to convey a sense of shock of the whole thing. The words I used were all I could use because I think they fit everything in that scene so well.

Info: Okay, this song put about a million ideas in my head. I finally just went with this one. This is based, once more, on "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" but this time, IT'S THE SWEDISH ONE!!! I personally loved this scene and was really rather upset that they took it out of the American one, but what do you do? Anyway, this scene is based upon what happened with Lisbeth when she was young. She set her father on fire and nearly killed him. Reason being - he deserved it. Her father was an awful creature that was psychotically abusive to both her and her sister and mother. She just got sick of it one day and chased after him with a can of lighter fluid and a box of matches. If you know anyone who has ever been abused or have been yourself, you would cheer at this moment too.
As far as the technical issues, I decided to put the images in black and white because it is all memories. However the rage that Lisbeth feels is something I feel was shown well through the fire image, and since it is something she felt throughout most of the series, I kept that in bright sharp contrast with the memories.

Mulholland Drive

Info: This is based on the movie, "Mulholland Drive". It is based upon the murder of Camille by Diane, the woman who was used by Camille and developed an incredibly unhealthy obsession with her after she broke her heart. This is a mix of both the beginning scene and final scene of the film, in which Diane is sitting in her apartment, consumed with guilt. I used these particular lyrics because when I read the entire song, I felt it was a lot about fate. But these lyrics I felt could easily be applied to Diane's demolished mental state when she decided that killing Camille was this answer to her problem.
I made this quite simple in appearance. I tried some textures and such, but the simplicity really seemed to work very nicely with these images and the overall piece.

Info: This wall is from one of my favorite David Lynch films, "Mulholland Drive". The film is based upon a woman, Diane, who goes to Hollywood and falls in love with another woman, Camille, who becomes considerably more successful than her. Diane later realizes that she has been used by Camille and later becomes terribly obsessed with her. This scene takes place at a party where she is basically being ridiculed by everyone at the party, something started by Camille. It's an awful scene because you feel just horrible for Diane. The scene immediately following this is when she hires a hit man to kill off the woman she loves, so I found the lyrics to be very fitting. I used the green to symbolize anger, envy, and more.

Info: Another David Lynch piece, this time based on "Twin Peaks". For those who haven't seen the show, the whole thing is based around the murder of Laura Palmer. As the show progresses, it is found that there is an evil entity by the name of BOB that possesses various people, animals, and more to commit acts of evil. BOB is seen from time to time by a few different people through visions and possession. In the show, it is stated in Laura's diary that she was brutally abused by BOB since she was a little girl and in the film (in which you see the days leading up to her murder and how she was terrorized), she actually sees BOB.
I kept going around and around with this piece because I knew I only wanted the two images in it to emphasize the fear. I messed around with a bunch of stocks and textures before finally finding this one. In the film and show, the term, "Fire, walk with me," had to do with BOB and this has a very fire look to it. I used these lyrics because Laura was always tormented by BOB and he eventually was the cause of her death. By stating that, it's not really a spoiler for those who haven't seen it because the police work to find how BOB actually possessed.

Info: Made for bre2004's BF challenge based upon elements. I used water as my element here. The interpretation of it I used was the way that water is interpreted through the unconsciousness. Water often symbolizes unconsciousness, so I immediately thought of Faith and her coma. Water is also very common in the dream state, so I wanted to show at least the one image of 'dreams' in the coma, hence, the image of her running faded into the other images. The coloring and stock of the water seemed very fitting for the theme.

Info: Decided to go with the sad option on this one (big surprise, lol!). This scene in the series really killed me. I am one of those people who really enjoyed the character of Anya, although I know a lot of people didn't like her. For those of us that have been through an engagement and wedding, we know how entertaining that is and I remember being exactly like Anya was in this season with her extreme excitement and happiness. Plus, she really loved Xander. I greatly despised the fact that Xander killed off his shot at happiness due to the fact that other people were unhappy with one another. Being with Anya would have been a great way for him to get out of that whole mess of a family and he would have been able to see how a family could have been good versus what I considered to be abusive.

Info: Also for bre2004's challenge. I decided to use air as an element in this one. Once again, I decided to go with the interpretation of air in dreams. I'm kind of obsessed with dream interpretations and find them terribly interesting. Plus, there's a lot to play with when it comes to them. In regards to air, there's a bunch of different types. I focused on fog or polluted air. Apparently when one dreams of fog, they are feeling lost in their path or unable to find their way in life. They can feel trapped or like they are losing their mind.

I feel that is how Buffy felt in the "Earshot" episode, especially in this scene when it seemed like everything was collapsing in on her. Part of me really wanted to do "Normal Again" for this, but it didn't work out and I have always wanted to art this scene. I wanted to use a fog stock, but it was downright impossible to utilize one in this piece. Instead, I decide to make only one image of Buffy clear, making other parts of her unclear, otherwise considered foggy. So there are numerous images of her from this scene that are purposely hidden.

These lyrics seemed really great for how she felt and the overall feel of the piece. "Sanitarium" is all about being locked away, whether it is in one's head or an actual prison. So it worked nicely.

Info: I looked up dream interpretations and found that the vision of a burning home often means that one is having issues with their family or those close to them.

Hence, I looked up the episode in which Buffy was first called upon as the Slayer and we saw her arguing with Joyce through the window. I remember people giving Buffy a lot of crap about how serious she always was and I was like, "Really? Because I know I'd be fun loving as all get out if I had to grow up like this."

I don't particularly care for this piece, as I envisioned it better, but I wanted to put the house in the middle to emphasize the problems between Buffy and her loved ones. These lyrics seemed to work rather well too because I feel if Buffy could have chosen, she never would have been the Slayer. It is too much of a burden for one person to carry alone, if you think about it. She didn't deserve to do that all herself.

Info: Made for a Florence and the Machine lyrical challenge at Buffyforums. Okay, unlike EVERYONE, I'm not a big fan of Florence and the Machine. But I'm not a big U2 fan like everyone in the universe either, so I'm kind of a weirdo, lol. I do like "Heavy in Your Arms" and I love her voice, so maybe I'm just waiting for the right song. Her lyrics are beautiful as well. This challenge got me started on doing artwork of the "Millennium Trilogy" films, which I cannot decide is a good or bad thing because I may just make a whole ton now. This one is based on the American version of the first part, "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo", a story I totally love, along with the other parts. I greatly enjoy both the American and Swedish films, but I absolutely love this scene in the American film. For those who haven't seen this and wonder why I am using these lyrics, Lisbeth doesn't really have any feelings for Mikael, but she's been systematically abused both sexually and physically her entire life and gets to experience very brief moments of actual pleasure in her life, including this one. So I feel the lyrics are very fitting.

Info: Yep, another "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" entry. I found these lyrics very fitting, so once again, here we are.
From those unfamiliar, this is based upon the relationship between Lisbeth and her awful abusive guardian, Bjurman, who takes advantage of his power over her by raping her. I found the lyrics, "You can't choose what fades away..." to apply really well here, as everyone has terrible memories and regardless of getting over them, some of them will never fade away. The memories of the abuse are faded a bit in this wall for that reason. They are not gone entirely, but they aren't as strong as Lisbeth's present condition because she is an incredibly strong character.

Hey everyone,

So as much as I don't want to put more bad news on here, I figure this could help everyone in the long run.

I recently obtained a position as an SEO writer online. I have done this in the past with other companies, but they are for temp contracts, so they only last so long. So I was super stoked to get this one for some income. I did a bunch of articles for them and kept in contact with them. Well, over the past two days, I didn't hear from them AT ALL. Finally, I looked around online, only to find a report similar to Snopes based upon the emails I had received.

It was a total scam. People are scum. It's like they did it for the sick pleasure of it because they didn't get any info like my real name, any numbers, or anything like that. But you're going to do this in today's economy? Really? Thanks a ton.

Being scammed makes you feel like a total ass because it makes you feel stupid. That's the thing about it that sucks more than the actual scam itself. I just hate it. So I have to tell you guys to just be careful who you trust online pretty much always, but when you are looking for work too.

I wanted to show her as a vampire, but was unable to achieve that properly, so I went this way instead. I found that showing the blood spoke a lot and the forest stock always says a lot to me personally. Lastly, I think the lyrics are interesting when thinking about immortality.

Info: Made for a Buffyforums challenge as a remake of THIS wall. I personally really liked Ruby. I liked both versions, but the first was my favorite because I loved the snarky evil side of her. I decided that now that the audience now knows how manipulative she was, I would show her as more evil. With the old wall, it more of her being a warrior, because I wasn't sure of her true motives at the time I made it. To symbolilze this, I used the red coloring and fire. I added the lotus because it symbolizes change, which was something she did over the seasons.
As far as the lyrics, I used them to show off her dark side. I also wanted to use more a fancy "pretty" font as well as a simpler, possibly "ugly" one to go with the theme.

I've been completely dorking out to the whole thing since meeting the band and seeing them live for the first time. It's hysterical. There's been no English music in my house or car for about two weeks and everything I say goes through my head in German now, lol. The photo was begging to be arted, as the usage of these enormous wings are just fantastic. I used darker colors based upon the darker lyrics, "Gott weiss ich will kein Engel sein" ("God knows I don't want to be an angel").

If I hear from one more person that sex is worse than violence, my foot is going in their ass. Then I'm booking it on over to Europe where you people have some common sense about this...

The other night, I went to get a waxing done and was being all chatty with the girl doing the waxing. She wasn't my normal girl, who is really cool. I already knew this was going to be a problem because this is a real high end salon and there are like, four people there that are not real conservative. So she asked what I was doing that night and I told her I was going to a concert cuz my husband was doing photos. She continues by asking if I've been to any other shows lately and so I, of course, go on about the Rammstein show cuz I'm still geeking out over that. She didn't know who they were so I proceeded to tell her. Then I told her I wanted to see them the next night in Canada cuz I just really wanted to see them again AND I found out that the stuff they were banned from doing in the US, was going on in Canada. She asks me what was banned. Well, in 1998, I believe, they got in trouble because they did simulated sodomy onstage and were arrested in three states for obscene behavior. If anyone is curious as to what I am talking about, YouTube the song, "Buck Dich" (Uncensored). And for those of us who don't speak the German, Buck Dich means bend over, and the whole song is about S&M. So it's not like a huge surprise. Plus, um, IT'S FAKE! My husband actually saw it then and said it was just hysterical. And apparently, the US (in place of getting the big fake cock during that song) get to see a guy get a big light busted over his back. So once again with the US, violence is a better option than sex. Oh, btw, if you watch the YouTube video, on one of them, there are numerous people who are like, "That's fake!" Gee, REALLY?

Yeah, this chick didn't find this too funny or interesting or whatever. She got all up in arms about it. While I have boiling wax on me, mind you. She's all, "Well, I guess you can expect that from a heavy metal show" and "They should really think about the children" and more. Think about the children, my ass. I wasn't allowed to go to concerts when I was a little kid unless I went with my parents and if by some strange chance I had been able to sneak off to a Rammstein show when I first started listening to them at twelve years old, guess what? I knew what sex was! Ugh. So then we got into the film conversation.

I'm the kind of person who would rather watch a sex scene than a brutally violent one. I don't understand film ratings in this country. Here's my big example. Some of you may get this, but as of now I know no one who has seen both of these films. Okay, I saw the film, "Drive" which was rated R. I also saw the film "Shame", which was rated NC-17. I really liked them both, but was much more comfortable watching "Shame" and I'll tell you why. This is pretty spoiler free, as well, so no worries there. There are two particular scenes in "Drive" that I CANNOT watch. One, someone gets their head blown clean off. Graphically. Two, someone literally beats someone to death while stomping their head in so hard that it cracks and you see brains. This was the version shown in the theater - the R rated version. "Shame" is about sex addiction. It shows a considerable amount of sex - your basic forms onto threesomes and more and then some male full frontal nudity. That's the one that got the NC-17. I mean, I literally looked this up and that is why it got that rating. I don't see why it couldn't have gotten an R. The last time I checked, R rated films were made FOR adults anyway, So your kid isn't going to see it unless they sneak in or if you bring them, which is your own fault.

And before you go asking how I would feel watching each scene with my parents, here's another example. I watched the new version of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" with my mom and dad. The rape scene was so hard to get through (hell, even when I watched it ALONE). The sex scene with Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig? I LOVE that scene for some reason and had absolutely no problem watching it with both of my parents. So...

Thanks for listening to my rant. I don't want to offend anyone, so please don't take it that way. I just feel it's so ridiculous over here. When I was in Germany, they were so cool about sex and nudity. Here, I am so often made to feel dirty for liking sex like I do. And you know, I'm all about protecting kids. This has nothing to do with children. I'm talking about the adults here and stuff that is supposed to be for adults. It's just lame.

Oh, that's why I had to use this icon, lol. :)

So the husband decided to do something psychotically nice yesterday...

Little rehash for those that don't know: I'm obsessed with Germany, the culture, the whole bit. Have been since I was little cuz Dad lived there, my older sister was born there, and Dad spoke a lot of it when I was little. So I just love it all. Well, when I was thirteen (I believe), the film "Lost Highway" (one of my favorite films) came out and the soundtrack was insanely popular around here. I got it cuz it had Nine Inch Nails and David Bowie on it. The whole thing rocks - if anyone wants to hear it, I'll send you a a copy because half of it is just instrumental. Anyway, I really got into it and heard Rammstein for the first time on it. They had two songs on it. Since then, I have just loved those guys. Unfortunately, I brought in that soundtrack to my German class to let the class hear and so many people just ripped on me for liking the music. Funny how when "Du Hast" was released in the US later that year, everyone LOVED it.

They were coming to Minneapolis last night and I had been waiting since last year to see them. I was supposed to see them in Munchen last year, but the tickets were SO expensive! So we waited and my husband was going to try to get a press pass to get me photos, which is NOT easy at their shows because of all the fire and stuff. He calls me yesterday and said we were on the guest list and he was doing photos. AWESOME. About an hour later, I get another call. I GET TO MEET THE BAND!!! Um, are you fucking kidding me????? I've been waiting fifteen years just to see these guys in concert, let alone MEET THEM!!!!!

As it turns out, he couldn't meet them as well because the press stuff was at the same time. So a friend of mine from high school was going to the show and I surprised him with a pass. So that was nice. We got to meet them and I spoke German to them, they signed my "Lost Highway" liner notes, and took pics. It was funny because they don't speak a whole ton of English and when they were signing, I would respond in German. Well, one of them signed my notes and I looked at him and said, "Danke." He looked at me for a second and then just goes, "...you're welcome." It was a total respect of each other's cultures enough to speak each other's languages thing, which I thought was really cool. They were some of the nicest people I have ever met. No joke. They were just great.

The show was BADASS. It turned out that the seats I was given were right next to the stage. If you have never seen these guys and get the chance, just go. Even if you don't know the music - go. They put on a show that is just spectacular. And I have to say, for a band that doesn't have English lyrics and virtually no US radio play, pulling in seven thousand people is pretty damn impressive. Unfortunately, they did not play "Heirate Mich" or "Klavier". Love those songs.

Hi guys,

Thank you so much for your kind words and comments regarding my last post. Many may not think it's a lot because we're all online and don't see each other and such, but whenever anyone has a kind word to say, I really take it to heart. So thank you.

Regarding my stepson, there's not really too much to say. He and my husband had a long talk yesterday and he apologized profusely for everything. He was extremely remorseful and for those of you that know any type of addict, a lot of them don't have any remorse for what they do to others. So that was good. He said he was horrible to everyone that night, not just us. His friends were actually the ones that threw him in that cab that night because he was being just awful to them as well. So he felt like shit. I mean, he's a good person when he doesn't have all that crap in his system. He has a really good heart and would never do any of that stuff he did sans the drugs and alcohol. So yesterday was hard for him but good at the same time. I hope some good comes of it.

And my husband just came home for lunch and told me that his son is just TOTALLY freaked out by his behavior and everything and is just a total mess. Which once again, I say that's good.

On a couple other notes, my husband was contacted by the owners of Rock Fest. They want to put one of his photos on their official mug this year that all the concertgoers buy because they are different each year. Also, it will have his photography logo on it, which I designed! *hops around with glee* So something I designed will actually be on an official product! I thought that was pretty cool. It is here on his website, if you want to see it. It is on the corner of all of his photos as well. And there's semi naked me in the portraits section, lol. :)

Also, I did a job interview yesterday that I think went REALLY well. I hope! I will know tomorrow if I got the job, but it is close to home, it pays the same as my last job, great hours, and they seem like really cool people there. It's doing AP invoice processing, which I'm pretty good at, so here's hoping!

And finally, is there anyone here who has lived in CA before (the San Diego or surrounding areas in particular)? I know a few have. I was just trying to seek out some info because I am looking online at property down there and I only have visited downtown and Del Mar. I just want to know what people think of a few areas cuz you really don't know until you live there. Like, if people asked about Minneapolis, I'd be like, "Do NOT go to northwest Minneapolis!" People die there every day, it's awful. Gang slum over there which is too bad. But anyhow, I am looking at properties online and they are in areas such as Logan Heights, Lemon Grove, Encanto, and a few others. I had a friend tell me that everything is all ghetto in CA and it's stupid to even spend money down there, but something tells me he just got a raw deal when he tried to go there. So any advice on that place would be lovely.

Hi everyone,

Had an especially difficult night last night. The worst night of my husband's entire life, as he put it. As usual, writing stuff down always makes me feel better and in situations like this, it may end up helping someone else. Who knows?

My stepson ended up in the HCMC (Hennepin County Medical Center) crisis unit last night, only to later be transferred to the psych ward. Why, you ask? Well, we haven’t heard from him in 10 days. He is currently living with a bunch of friends, so neither had his grandparents. Which is all well and good because he’s 20 years old and its not like he has to check in or anything. But last night, we get a call from his grandpa asking my if he can please come over to their house and help out with him.

Apparently, he had gone to the Myth (a club in Saint Paul) and gotten SO fucked up on alcohol and something else that we have yet to identify (his eyes were like, black, they were so dilated). We figured that when his grandpa called that he was just you know, drunk, we’d get him here, and he’d pass out. Your typical drunken tale. Yeah, not so much…

Someone at the Myth just threw him in a cab cuz he was belligerent there. The cabbie actually reached in his pocket to find his ID cuz he passed out in the backseat and drove him to his grandparent’s house. He goes and knocks on their door asking if they knew him. It took them 20 minutes just to get him out of the cab. He had NO idea where he was. He thought he was at his friend’s house and was just mumbling, walking around in circles, and doing all this crazy stuff.

My husband goes over to get him. I am SO glad I opted out of that little ride along. So he gets there and his son was in this full on rage mode. Just screaming, yelling, cursing out my husband and his grandparents, threatening to kill both him and himself, pulling apart furniture in the house, everything. It was when he started throwing things at the animals that Kyle and his grandpa pinned him down on the bed to try to restrain him somehow. Bear in mind, this is ENTIRELY out of character. That's what made this so scary.

He kept this up for a LONG time because my husband was gone from 9 to 11:30. They finally told him they were going to have to call the cops and they didn’t want to do that because of the charges he already has against him, so basically to calm the fuck down. No go. So they had to call the police.

He wasn’t charged with anything, but they brought him to crisis because he blew a .258. Took four cops to get him in the back of the car. My husband and his grandparents were all just crying because this just sucked so bad. I guess he had severe alcohol poisoning to the point where it could have killed him, after the hospital shit all came back. He fed the doctor that evaluated him a total line of bullshit which she believed, so she released him this morning. His grandparents picked him up and then he left the house. He was offered treatment, which the county actually said they would pay for, for reasons unbeknownst to me. But I talked to my mother (who grew up with very abusive alcoholic parents, so she doesn't TOUCH alcohol) and she told me that unless someone wants to admit they need help, you can't make them get help. It doesn't work.

This runs in my husband's family. I'm not sure about my stepson's mother's family, but my husband's father was a very abusive drunk, who has now been sober for a number of years. But I have heard horror stories of when he wasn't and we are so scared because this clearly has been passed to his son. I'm literally just sitting here preparing myself for a worse phone call one night which I already have done twice in my life before. It's an awful feeling.

My husband is a total wreck. His son doesn't seem to really give a shit about it. He called him and apologized this morning but then immediately bitched him out for calling the cops. I guess the friend he is living with, my husband told the cops that’s where he is living last night, and they literally were like, “Oh, he’s living there? That’s the last place you want him to be right now.” So yeah, that’s awesome. He keeps giving everyone shit about how he had such an awful childhood and that’s why he is the way he is and all that. Well, I was there for a fair amount of it. My husband was an excellent father to him. And although his mom left and moved to Europe when he was sixteen, he cannot use that as an excuse forever. It may suck, but everyone has issues of some sort and they can’t let them run their lives forever. That’s like if I sat and whined about having cerebral palsy or epilepsy all the time (which would be really easy to do cuz it sucks), but I can’t because you have to move on and deal with life. There are people WAY worse off.

On another note...

We're planning on moving. Things are eating away at my husband tremendously. Not just stuff with his son, but his business too. If he left, he'd get a buy out of $300,000 to start somewhere new. Also, our house is nothing but a financial drain. We have talked about it a lot and I figure if we go anywhere, we'll go to California (San Diego or surrounding areas). We've found houses down there for literally $1000 cheaper than what we pay up here.

Info: Made for nikki1988, For some reason, I just love non cannon Buffy ships. I don't know why, but they are just so much fun. Willow is an especially interesting character to play with because I feel there is so much more to her than on the surface. I found this image of her and used it because it has both a worried and dreamlike quality to it. I thought it could look as if she was either looking concerned in regards to Angelus or simply thinking of him. I utilized the black and white and color the way I did as a method of confusion on her part between right and wrong. Finally, I loved these lyrics, since ether is something that is awful for people, yet many like it anyway.

I really liked the image, as it kind of has a look in Elena's eyes like she was up to no good. The softer coloring was used to imply more of a sweeter love between the two than something dangerous.

Info: Made for midnight_owl13. This is probably one of my favorite walls I have made in a while. I always look at Damon and Elena's relationship as a dangerous and forbidden one due to him being a vampire and well, kind of an ass overall. It always makes for great inspiration too because it's not boring. So I stuck them in the graveyard and made them all black and white for the overall mystique of the pairing and setting. The color in the trees was a real experimental thing that I just went with because I thought it really made the piece pop. As far as the coloring of the blood, I thought it was important since she has a vampire in her arms. Finally, I didn't want to wreck it with any words. There was just nowhere to place them.

So I'm losing my unemployment next week. MN has this fucked up law where if the unemployment rate drops below 6%, then the people that were on their second tier of unemployment don't get anymore money. Which makes NO sense, but that's how it is. Anyhow, as of today I still don't have a job. Those of you out there trying to get work know what a bitch it is. I have done four interviews in the past two weeks to no avail. I have also tried to get jobs doing things like overnight stock and stuff like that at places like Target and such, but because of my degrees, they say I am "overqualified". I love how I was told to go to school my whole life to get a good job only to have it be the reason I cannot get one now.

SO, as of next week, there will be no income. I mean, I have NO idea what I am going to do. I am in the process of selling many things, including my Buffy, Angel, X-Files, and other action figures. I wanted to post the link to my Amazon storefront here in case there are any interested parties. I know there are lots of people who like that stuff on LJ, so where's a better place to post it? :)

Info: This one was a lot of fun because it was requested as being shippy and I loved these stills I found of her. It made it look as if she was singing to him, so finding the Beatles lyrics was also a bonus for me. I used the red coloring for a passionate feel for the piece.

Info: Ah, good ol' fashioned role playing slash. I swear, when I get to make art based entirely off of sexual bases, it is REALLY fun. I especially enjoyed the imagery in this one because the two bottom images get to imply a lot more, leaving it up to the imagination of the viewer. The lighting and coloring seemed to really work well in this for me because I saw Eric as still being a bit more dangerous since he is a vampire.

Info: This was an interesting piece to make as I wanted to hold true to the noir feeling. The only thing that really aggravated me was the font. I couldn't find the perfect one and this is as close as I could come to the one in my head. Although you can't entirely see his face in this, I still think it is a good representation of Dean as a warrior even decades earlier. I feel the chosen lyrics reflect that as well, as I always see Dean as someone who will end up fighting to the death.

Info: I actually don't know if the whole Caroline/Klaus ship is real in the show or not as I haven't watched this season yet, but I do like the idea of them together. I used the cap of when he fed her his blood because I think it's a good shot between the two and used this shot of her because I personally just really like the photoshoot. I felt the lyrics were very becoming of the two as well, as they are both immortals.

Info: I decided to go with Buffy and Dean (an evil version of Dean) in this one because I can never really seem to do happy art. The evil stuff holds more of a draw for me for some reason. I used this wonderful quote from the character of Sam Loomis in the film "Halloween". I thought it was perfect for such a scene because Dean looks particularly horrifying with those black eyes.
