Fandom-friend/stalker/troll vantiri (@livejournal) who spreads homophobic diatribes on every site and fic he comes across (and with whom I've had several run-ins with over the years) appears to be going by Thrawn on ao3 and has found me again?

He's calling himself my FAN.

I'm so fucking tired of this bullshit. And this dude.

I've already reported him for harassment to the ao3 mods, but I'm not really sure what they can do about him?

Yes yes, I'm not dead. I got a new job and had a 2hr commute in the am and pm. So for the past month I've been mainlining the Good Wife and Melissa and Joey ~~and also now addicted to Sips bc that's how I roll these days~~ and knitting mitts for happyg_rl. Even though she's well into her first Stephen West shawl and can probably make her own damn mitts. But! I moved! (That's the point of this story omfg wut) and my commute is much nicer and my cat is verrry happy that we are single ladies alone in our own space, so there's more time for writing and modding. yay.

Anyway, I'm here. I'm alive. I don't see myself getting back into active-tumblr status anytime soon bc (a) I'm behind on all the shows and (b) I'm at a computer all day for work and afterwards just want to do something else! This doesn't mean that I don't love you - so feel free to yell at me. I update my Instagram pretty regularly (kwritten) and Snapchat sometimes (k_written) if you do that kind of thing. I'm around, even if it seems like I'm completely absent.

Anyway, I still have mod-responsibilities, even if I am a 10/10 fail at modding most of the time :)

As many of you probably already know, last night another canon lesbian was shot and killed minutes after a love scene with the woman of her affection. Understandably, many fans (and non-fans) of The 100 are hurt and betrayed by yet another tv lesbian being killed on-screen.

Amidst the outrage, anger, and hurt - wlw are coming together to support and give encouragement.

Sunnydale was a hole in the ground.

Los Angeles was a burning wreckage.

She supposed that maybe the world didn’t revolve around Southern California and that the disasters that her blood wrought were only a very small problem in comparison with worldwide hunger and disease and (if the talking heads Wesley found so fascinating these days were anything to go by) political corruption.

She also supposed that maybe her blood hadn’t decimated her only known world - like Spike kept whispering to her over and over and over and over and over and …

I need a change of scenery, she had said it like a command like a plea like a little girl begging for a toy please please please listen listen listen

Buffy had blinked, Sure? Where do you want to go?

Fred called a few days later, and it was decided decided decided. Like all it would take is a new war zone to make her feel like a human being again.

The country the planet the universe the infinite was a war zone there was no where to find peace and anyway, what would she do with something so fragile?

Didn’t take long for it all to come crashing down. For Fred to not be Fred for Spike to get delusions of grandeur and forget about her for Harmony to betray everyone for the world to turn to smoke and ashes and a little girl in the middle laughing and laughing and laughing because thank god this feels normal.

“You are too green,” she said like it didn’t mean far too much.

“You are too blue,” Dawn had sassed back. She was a teen. She was allowed to be sassy even in the aftermath of tragedy. Everything was the aftermath of a tragedy, there was no reprieve, this was the one thing she was certain of.

This wasn’t their first conversation or the most important or one that meant more than any other. It wasn’t even a conversation, it was a passing of insults between two creatures too old and too young and too fresh and cracking with their age that had learned at some indeterminate point that words were slippery, nebulous things they wanted no affiliation with.

“Dennis says things are weird,” she offered to Angel and the team, sometime after the entire world crashed around their ears.

“No shit?” Gunn spit out. Immortality was an ill-fitting suit on him. “I saw a dragon fly past my window this morning. I think things are a bit more than just fucking weird.”

Dawn squinted at him and then left.

She had nothing to fear from anything outside the crumbled remains of the Hyperion. She kept house in Cordy’s old apartment because otherwise Dennis would be lonely and she had feelings about ghosts feeling lonely.

There was too much on everyone’s mind to notice that she wasn’t as afraid as someone her size and age should be. She didn’t blame them. They had turned the known world into hell, that kind of guilt could blind even the best kind of people.

And they weren’t the best kind of people.

“You are too green,” she said from the doorway, head cocked to one side.

“Go to hell,” Dawn called from her kitchen.

“The others think we are already there.” She paused, stepping into the living room delicately. “You do not.”

“It’s just an expression, and you know that,” Dawn had very little patience for immortal gods that pretended they didn’t understand humanity. It was stale. It tasted like a game on her tongue and she was too young to be interested in games.

“But that’s not why you said it.”

Dawn handed her a beer from the fridge and didn’t respond.

It was interesting being seen, if only for a moment, and by something not-quite human.

Who was human these days anyway? Humanity was fucking overrated.

Things were weird, Dennis didn’t lie. The world was adjusting. The harder the Hyperion Team fought to get things back the way they were, the more the earth welcomed the changes with open arms.

She didn’t say anything. She selfishly didn’t want to them to know she wasn’t interested in fighting. She relied on their good opinion of her.

“You like it this way,” they sat on her balcony and watched a group of winged beasts dance through the night sky.

“Don’t you?” Dawn replied.
Illyria blinked at her,”I like you this way.”

And that felt like nothing at all.

“Things are getting better!” Angel’s eyes were a little manic. “We’re winning!”

Spike warned her with his eyes not to laugh, and so she disappeared out the door. Something with a bloody snout begged for food and she smiled at it because it belonged to her.

They were losing and knew it.

She skipped all the way back to her apartment.

“Nothing grows here,” Gunn whined.

And that wasn’t strictly true. Things were beginning to grow. Small infants were blossoming into monsters. Steam was building into volcanoes. The world was shifting and growing and changing all around them. Everything was black and red and grey and purple and metallic.

What he meant was: nothing that I know grows here. I cannot recognize the world outside my window.

What he meant was: this fruit is wrong this sky is wrong this ground is wrong.

What he meant was: I don’t fit here.

“She does,” Illyria said, glancing at Dawn.

No one noticed. She was prone to say things they didn’t want to understand.

Ignorance is bliss.

There were strange plants on her balcony, in her bathroom, in her kitchen, clinging to the walls of the living room. Plants that nipped at her heels with affection as she walked by, with brilliant neon blooms, with intoxicating and possibly poisonous scents, bearing fruit that looked like a challenge more than a food.

She ate more than any of them, was the strongest, she was flourishing as they died slowly.

Illyria liked to stand in her living room, still as a statue, arms and legs outstretched, letting the vines reach and reach and reach towards her like she belonged to them. She wanted to belong to them. She wanted to belong there. She never said it outloud because words didn’t mean enough.

“You kiss like a child,” she said with a scowl.

“I am a child!” Dawn laughed. “What is childish about my kissing?”

“You are too eager, too hungry,” she said these things as if they were the most precious things in the whole world. She was very bad at insults these days.

Dawn’s eyes flashed, and she preceded to show Illyria just how hungry she was.

They stopped checking in at the Hyperion. Stopped going out on campaigns to kill the demon hordes.

They spent a lot of time wrapped around each other, naked and eager.

“These bodies,” Illyria marveled. “They are truly superior.”

Dawn nodded sagely, “To be woman is to be divine.”

They didn’t laugh. They were divine.

They only laughed at lies.

“I found you something today,” she was holding something behind her back and Dawn jumped in her eagerness. Sometimes she was still the smallest, smallest, smallest baby that had ever been born. Probably because she had never experienced birth. Something about the pressure and pain and stress of birth makes adults of us all. She didn’t have this reality pressing on her bones.

She held out a plant, something like a tree, it’s long black roots already twinning between her fingers.

It was their first sign that the world was moving on, growing and learning and adapting. Dawn put it on her balcony and smiled.

“We should name her,” she said excitedly.

“A plant does not need a name,” Illyria scolded.

“Everything that grows needs a name,” Dawn countered, wrapping her arm around Illyria’s waist. Something immortal stiffened in fear and something desperately human melted. Or the reverse.

Dawn pressed a chaste kiss on Illyria’s lips, “I will name her kiss.”

Illyria brought her a thousand plants, searched the whole desiccated city for anything growing, bringing them back in her small hands.

For each she received a kiss.

And it was the start of something or nothing.

They stopped going to the Hyperion, let the memories of their bodies die and became something new.

Maybe they grew.

buffy_genfic also has a poll up because quite frankly, it wasn't a positive experience for me running that comm and I'd like to pass the puck to someone else. Despite everything else that happened this year, my productivity was at an all-time high? I can't even explain it... I mean... I guess I'll just let you read the answers to all the questions. I wrote about 358,590 words as far as my calculations go. 92(ish) stories [[btvs- 36; revo- 14; arrow- 10; tvd- 9]] and we all know I love a good crossover so many of those are probably parcels of each other.

It's been a hell of a writing year. I think what I'm most proud of (for myself) is that I can actually sit down and write something - a one-off or multi-chaptered story - that is between 10-20k without feeling like there is a huge weight on my shoulder. All of my longer pieces are generally between 15-20k and some of them (not all) are one-offs that I either wrote in one sitting or wrote so quickly/in such a way that they were posted as a single piece. Which... after years of tapping out around 3k or at 1500 word chapters, seeing that increase in word count was pretty spectacular.

Leitmotif(s) of the year:
The beginning of the year was mostly femme fic which was lovely. Siblingcest became a standard ~thing? which wasn't entirely unexpected but also new. Last year there were more threesomes compared to this year? the orgyfest in September pumped up Revolution like woah.

Mostly the big thing this year? I finished shit?! Long stuff. Up until this year, my one and only "long" piece was Noona and now I have several 10k+ stories under my belt. Some are unfinished, but just as many ARE.

My best story of this year:
signifying nothing is probably one of the best things that I have ever written. It's long, it's finished, it's ~good, people who read it tend to like it. It's GEN.

Okay, NOW your most popular story.
According to ao3, sorry about the blood in my mouth, it isn't all mine a one-shot tommy/thea/oliver piece got over 900 hits.
After that (by hits) it's take back everything you took which is possibly my second favorite Revolution piece that I wrote this year. Which is actually my top in terms of kudos for this year.

Story of mine most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Probably #hashtag this, honestly. Also the Saltzman-sisters fic which no one has read..... Let's be clear: I mostly write crossover lesbian fic which means that I'm pretty much ignored by fandom. Which is fine :)

Story that could have been better?
More like: which story could I have actually Finished? Pomegranates, Badly Done, and if I say yes. They are all decent enough pieces, but they desperately need to be finished. Especially if I say yes. If anyone has read it and can figure out what could/should happen next? That'd be awesome.

Sexiest story?
Probably my Nora-seduces-Bass-for-Miles piece or if I say yes bc the Charlie/Bass/Helen-of-Troy of it all is HOT, honestly.

Hardest story to write:

let's sing a song came out so easy. so, so easy. My first longer(ish) story. and it wasn't a struggle at all.
Also, strangely enough, it takes an eclipse was ~hard but not exactly hard - it was so damn easy it wasn't hard.

So since the way femslashbb works this year is by word count and not necessarily by ONE big story, I though it would be prudent (and interesting) to collect my femslash list and see where I stand in terms of (a) things created and (b) word count. It was quite a trip down memory lane, tbh - there's a lot of fun stuff from this year that I've forgotten about!

This list (for the most part) doesn't include gen stories with fem-pairings in the background. First of all, thank you so much for your time and your story! I'm sure whatever you create is going to be great. I've compiled a bunch of likes and dislikes (both general and for each fandom) to help you along. I've done a bunch of exchanges now and I find that it is so much easier to get started if I have a good sense of what my reader wants :) Feel free to take what you want and leave what you don't.

General Likes
Ladies. Lady relationships in any form - loving and supporting each other as friends or lovers or family. One thing that I care strongly about is passing the Bechdel test. Are women talking to each other about something other than a guy? Then chances are I'm pretty happy. Domestic fic. Messy people making the best of things; messy people falling in love with equally messy people and finding that things work, messy people falling in love and finding that things don't work. Gen. Mental illnesses discussed honestly and without shaming. Nonsexual kinks. Dragons. Queer Characters. Behind the Scenes filler-fic, that tell us something we didn't already know; like inside jokes the audience have to guess at. Families. Messed-up families and fluffy families. Found families. Found daughter/father stories. Origin stories. Lyrical use of language. Non-linear storytelling. Character studies with no discernible plot. Arranged marriages. Coffee shop AUs. Fairy Tale AUs. Time-jump AU's. Cracky-AU's of all kinds as long as the characterization is strong. Angst (with purpose). Established relationships. Everyday scenarios (shopping, dentist trips, doing their taxes, etc.) Literary references or allusions. Self-aware characters OR unreliable narrators. I especially love characters that know what story they are in. Silly, not-perfect-first-time-sex. When it comes to sex/kink, I like full/explicit consent with understanding and people enjoying themselves/having fun.

General Dislikes
Menz. This is not meant to be mean. But one thing that I'm sure I do not want from this experience is a story that focuses on a man's needs/wants/arc. This is a place to celebrate small fandoms and my niche in that is ladies. I especially don't like noncon/dubcon (unless in an a/b/o universe that is honestly and carefully handled). Narratives that emphasize women needing to 'change' in order to become worthy of someone - or women 'learning' that they haven't treated the men in their lives well. Anything to do with women's arcs and character needs being placed in subservience to the plot and/or man. Explicit torture, gaslighting, possessive/abusive/manipulative behavior framed as romantic, rape, character death, dark endings with no hope, first-person POV, slut-shaming, victim-blaming.

Psy-Changeling - Nalini Singh
Aden Kai/Zaira Neve, Zaira Neve, Judd Lauren(/Brenna), Sienna Lauren
Shopping. Teasing. Group dates. Laughing about Psy-men. Laughing about men. Emails. ANYTHING. Literally anything. Give me the women of this series talking to each other and supporting each other. GROUP DATES. I'd especially love a group date or bromance with the Psy-men and Max.

For your consideration: I actively call Judd Lauren a sparkly princess assassin. No, I don't take Judd seriously. No, I don't take any of the men in this series seriously - except when they are doting on their female counterparts. Judd being cuddly with children, Judd giving sex advice to the Arrows and pretending not to fail, Judd being ridiculously confused by Changelings, Judd bromancing all the bros and being really pleased with himself. Judd+Max would honestly be the best thing you could give me, because they are my most precious babies.

Aden/Zaira is super important to me in the sense that this is the kind of romantic relationship that would actually appeal to me in RL. I love their mutual respect for each other, always checking each other's boundaries and never trying to crash them down, but instead listening and always taking care of each other. If you choose to write about this pairing, please keep this in mind.

Sienna Lauren's romance could have been super squicky and uncomfortable, but Singh was so respectful of the character and her strength, that this didn't happen. PLEASE, please, please retain that sense of respect over the power dynamics between Sienna/Hawke if you choose to write about Sienna. Yes, I ship it - because Singh's writing didn't push me away. Character-study of Sienna would be fab. Sienna bonding with the Changeling ladies or her other pack friends would be fab. Sienna bonding with the Arrows or other Psy women would seriously slay me.

Being Erica
Erica, Erica+Sam, Erica/Kai, Sam, Sam/Lenin
I just started watching this series over the summer while visiting my cousin in Canada (bless Canadian Netflix) and at this exact moment I haven't finished (oops), but by the time Yuletide goes live, I definitely will have - so don't worry about spoiling anything!
What I love so much about this series is Erica's multi-layered relationships with everyone in her life and that the series allows Erica (and everyone around her) to be messy, incomplete, and willing to learn from their mistakes.

I'd love family fic with Sam and Erica, maybe coping with life after their brother died. Please no hero worship OR character-hate for Leo. He's not the hero that Erica thinks he is, but he's not 100% a villain either, if he makes his way into a fic, please let him be the real, messy human he is. That said, I'd obviously prefer just Sam+Erica being cute sisters together without boys in the picture.

I ship Erica/Kai like a bat out of hell. GIVE IT ALL TO ME. Angst! Alternate timelines! Meeting in the future! I know a fan-theory is that Erica is a therapist after her death, give me therapist!Erica/therapist!Kai meeting for coffee and talking about their patients; give me therapist!Erica not wanting to hold Kai back, give me self-sacrificing Kai content to live in his own Groundhog's Day to be close to Erica, give me them moving on, moving forward but always circling back to each other. Give me AU's of them actually being the same age if you want, but let's be real, 90% of the glory of this ship is the ANGST of them never being in the same place at the same time. *sigh*

Strange Empire
Isabelle Slotter, Kat Loving, Rebecca Blithely
I love this series so, so much. Like SO much, okay? Mostly I love these three ladies kicking ass and taking no prisoners. Each one of them is so unique, and so special. Give me anything that lets these three women shine. Isabelle vs. Kat with Rebecca watching on, if you wish. All of them working together. Character studies. Interludes of happiness or silliness in the midst of their confusing-messy lives and relationships. Absolutely NO character-bashing or slut-shaming or queer-shaming. Pretty much anything else goes!

I am very adamant that Rebecca is aromantic. The showrunners and actress have been very clear that she has Aspergers, please do not erase this fact, or use ableist language/slurs unless it has a specific use in the story. I did not request Morgan specifically because I am dubious about the way he treats Rebecca, so if you want to include him that's fine - I just ask that you use male pronouns (as the character prefers) and not glorify his negative treatment of Rebecca.

Dance Academy
Abigail Armstrong, Abigail/Ethan, Kat Karamako
I love, love, love these three characters. Especially Abigail. GIVE IT ALL TO ME. Historically-ridiculous AUs with Abigail ruling everything and Ethan her devoted huntsman, or Kat her snarking-but-still-loving huntsman/lady. Coffee-shop AU's or Millennial romances or soul-bonding. I don't care! I prefer Abigail as a dancer, I think that's extremely important to her character, but if you go AU, I'll probably love it. Abigail/Ethan is my otp of the series, so take that however you want. I've never before considered siblincest Ethan/Kat, but if that's your thing: I'll probably love it. I LOVE POLYAMORY. So... consider that if you want. I'm not going to say much about this fandom, because it was a bit of a whim request this year. Go nuts! Have fun! Be respectful of the teen girls and please don't demonize Tara or Abigail and I'm sure I'll love it.

Ballet Shoes
Pauline, Petrova, Posy
This was another whim request this year, I don't have definite feelings about what I want or what I'm looking for, so anything I'll probably love? I'd prefer a story where the girls are together, or at least communicating to each other, but if you want to write a future-fic with Petrova in Africa on a Safari or about Pauline's first Hollywood love affair or Posy's first identity-crisis on stage, and you want them to deal with these things alone, go for it! AU's are always okay around here. Siblingcest is totally cool if you want to go there. Basically, take this opportunity to play as much as you want. Check out my General Likes and Dislikes for more ideas if you feel stuck.

Above all, please just have FUN. If you want to write a small one-off, I will love that as much as an epic or a complete canon rewrite. I love big changes, but I especially love the small moments and free-form character studies as well. Just have fun and don't stress and I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

So tumblr's theorgyarmada is hosting Revolution: The Second Coming this month and of course I signed up to write waaaay too much for this and consequently have been writing like a monster with my head cut off the past week. I didn't end up finishing everything I signed up for, but there's been an extension until October 12, which is amazing.

Anyway, this is what I've written so far:

This chapter is primarily sexy-times between Rachel and the Nano (in Priscilla's body) with lots of discussion of mother-daughter relationships from the Nano's twisted perspective.

This chapter continues the theme of mother/daughter relationships, but from the perspective of Priscilla while under the control of the Nano. While in their controlled-dream state, she is 'with her daughters' but I presumed that the Nano did this in order to create a controlled environment of being her daughters on their terms.
free will
for the prompt: 'free will is a myth' Rachel/Priscilla/Nano
In this chapter, Rachel attempts to free Priscilla from the Nano's control by seducing them, basically using the body they have very little understanding of against them.
save your world
for the prompt: 'If you’re gonna ask someone to save the world, you’d better make sure they like it the way it is.' Rachel/Priscilla
The conclusion of the previous chapter, Priscilla is temporarily freed from the control of the Nano, but chooses to go back into the fantasy they created for her. This is the greatest deviation that I made from canon (aside from a presumed intimacy between Rachel/Priscilla)

This chapter takes the theme of mothers/daughters and looks at Rachel's relationship with Charlie. It's just a short interlude between the two of them, my attempt to give the world some positive representation of Rachel's character... or at least a moment that doesn't demonize her as much as fandom seems to enjoy doing.

In an alternate version of the end of the series, Charlie and Bass are on the run together and fall into a strange co-dependent relationship. Duncan comes back into their life and on Charlie's insistence, she is dragged along with them as they try to find a place where they won't be hunted anymore. This is mostly a wandering musing on the theme of CHOICE from the series, but under new circumstances.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE THING EVER OKAY? Basically it's the story of Charlie through canon and beyond, fighting her inner hunger that she doesn't quite understand, her seduction of the generals, dealing with the morally ambiguous decisions they make in the name of 'freedom' or whatever, the angst of being a Matheson, ending with Charloe on a beach not gaf. BUT THE IMPORTANT PART. Interspersed between the story of Charlie growing up and getting what she wants, are faux historical texts from the future - how the future people of the Blackout (hundreds and thousands of years later) interpret the actions of Charlie and her family, mostly literary analysis with religious undertones. I've been planning something like this for MONTHS and am so glad that I finally made myself write it!

For the OrgyArmada I still need to write:
