Hi! Nik Fairbrother here to answer your questions:
So, you’ve landed on this page - and want to know more? What is this? Who is it for? How do I join? Well, the last one is easy, so I’ll start there. Go to this page and pick your subscription: monthly or annually. That’s it!
You can now dive straight into the library and begin downloading any/all of the 200+ resources. Or if you prefer sit back and wait. Next Monday (and every Monday) I’ll send you an email with the latest resource - direct to your inbox. You can download it, print it up use in the dojo or at home.
But, maybe you’re here because you want to know more… Like how this started, who’s it for, and how it can help you.
Years ago, when I started the Koka Kids magazine, I used to send out posters along with the magazines for the coaches to use around their dojos, sports halls and schools. It annoyed me then, (and does now) that there’s always karate and gymnastics and football posters around sports centres and very few judo ones!
Well, flash forward a couple of decades, and I’ve brought all that online. Koka Kids Judo Coach Resource Library is a hub holding hundreds of different posters, certificates, flyers. No excuse now not to promote your judo club, let passerbys know you exist, that judo classes are available, and get new members signing up.
But recruitment is only a part of the story. As we know, retention is even more important if you want to sustain growth in any dojo, and so I added a load of engagement tools into the library; technical resources, teaching cards, dojo posters, progress sheets etc. Resources for the dojo. And resources for judoka to do at home.
I’m a big believer in the more you know, the more you feel yourself progressing then the more you want to learn about something. The more we can encourage and build the base of our judo pyramid (ie the juniors), the stronger our whole judo community is. If your dojo has a great junior membership, chances are it is also strong in seniors.
But who this is really for? And can it help you? My intention when I set it up was that Koka Kids Judo Coaching Resources was (as the name suggests) for judo coaches. And that Koka Kids was for kids. However, I’m reliably told that parents are using these resources to help their children learn at home, and coaches tell me their adult judoka also enjoy and refer to Koka Kids to learn technique. So, I’ve come to think that this is for anyone who loves their judo and wants to learn more or wants to teach more.
Is that you? Well, you’ve come to the right place! Just hit subscriber - and I’ll see you on the other side:
