About

BitConnect Carlos is an online nickname given to Carlos Matos, an investor in the cryptocurrency exchange site BitConnect, who appeared at the company's first annual ceremony in Thailand. Due to his enthusiastic support for the platform, he has been the subject of remixes and edits.

Origin

On October 28th, 2017, cryptocurrency exchange website BitConnect[1][2] held its first annual ceremony in Pattay, Thailand. During the event, an investor named Carlos Matos from New York gave an enthusiastic presentation and testimonial about the website (shown below).

Three days later, on November 1st, YouTuber [3] CryptoSann published a remix of the presentation, editing the clip into a scene from the 1987 science fiction film Predator. The post (shown below) received more than 18,000 views in four months.



Spread

On January 23rd, 2018, the clip was featured in a video on the h3h3productions YouTube[4] channel. The video (shown below, left) received more than 4.3 million views in two months.

The following day, YouTuber[5] Lil Jack published a version of the video using clips of bad BitConnect news to the theme song from Curb Your Enthusiasm. The post (shown below, right) received more than 722,000 views in one month.

On January 30th, YouTuber[6] Dylan Locke uploaded an electronic dance music remix of the clip. The post (shown below) received more than 470,000 views in one month.
