I'm taking a Beowulf class now, complete with Old English on the side. There are 3 big fights in it. The opponents, Grendel and Grendel's Mother, are aided by magic. Grendel is impervious to steel, so that had to be a wrestling match, in which Beowulf tears off Grendel's arm. Grendel's mother is even worse, but there is a sword from the time of the giants that Beowulf could use. There is substantial detail in the fights.
The third fight is with a dragon. I have forgotten the details (we are not up to it yet in my class) but I believe the dragon manages to damage Beowulf fatally, although the dragon's treasure is now available to the attackers.
Being able to write a fight scene is a high art! You did this very well.

It's over - sigh. Reminds me of Beowulf, but in much more detail.
There is one more chapter as a sort of wrap-up but yet. I guess I need to go back and read Beowulf again lol

Rereading Beowolf makes sense. This story is incredible. I feel like I just jumped out of a window
