Our work is guided by our Common Agenda, which supports our vision to make the City of Alexandria the best place to raise kids – from the time families take their first steps as parents and caregivers, to the first steps their child takes and beyond.

A Network of Early Care and Education Programs
ALX Preschool is a network of programs that provide early care and education services to 3-and 4-year-old children through a coordinated enrollment system based on eligibility and individual family needs.
Collective Impact
Kids' First Years has organized itself using
a “collective impact” approach to develop an early
care and education system. Collective impact occurs when organizations from different sectors agree to solve specific social problems using a common agenda, aligning their efforts, and using common measures of success.
