Bruno Fernandes to remain at Manchester United despite interest from Saudi Arabia

Manchester United talisman Bruno Fernandes is set to remain at the club this summer despite interest from Saudi Arabia.

The Portuguese international has 12 months left on his current deal at Old Trafford. United have postponed talks of a new contract, and Fernandes is not looking to leave.

He enjoyed a spectacular campaign last season, recording a Premier League record 21 assists, 13 of which came under Michael Carrick after his January appointment.

Bruno was courted by Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal but opted against a move. His stance on a long-term future at Man United has not changed.

While United have the option to extend his contract by another year, they are expected to accelerate talks over a new deal early next season to tie down one of the biggest creative forces in European football.

Fernandes is currently on international duty, where he helped set up Cristiano Ronaldo’s second goal in Portugal’s 5-0 win over Uzbekistan.

The result has put Roberto Martinez’s side within touching distance of a place in the knockout stage ahead of their final group game against Colombia.

Meanwhile, United are working on midfield additions ahead of next season, but their pursuit of West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes has been complicated by interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

United made Fernandes their prime target after a deal for Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson proved too expensive to pursue.
