As Ken's friend, I can say that he is a wonderful, kind, considerate person. Ken stayed with us for a week in October and he was a fantastic houseguest we would happily have again any time. Beyond his overall respect for our home, I especially want to mention his stay had on our cat. Our cat is a rescue and has a history of anxiety stemming from what we believe was mistreatment by her first adoptive family. Strangers are scary to her and she usually hides from them as much as possible. Ken's patience and gentleness with her, allowing her to come to him in her own time, was the perfect way for her to be introduced to a new person. By mid-week she was coming out to say hello to him, behaving far more like she does with just my husband and I around. Ken gave her the space to feel comfortable with him and his patience paid off not just for him while he was here, but for her since his visit. We have had a handful of guests since Ken's stay, and our cat has been so much more willing to come out and meet strangers. I can only credit Ken for making her feel so at ease around a new person that she is now willing to come and meet new people sooner. It feels like his presence in our home was a turning point for her. I would trust him to care for her if we needed someone, and I suspect any pet-owning home would find that he is a welcome guest.
