Meeting Of Styles (2025)

Backpacks, spray cans, and other equipment hanging from a scaffold in front of a wall with graffiti on it.

Every year the Meeting of Styles takes place at the Theodor-Heuss-Brücke in Mainz-Kastel, Wiesbaden. It's a weekend full of graffiti and music with artists from all around the world traveling here to paint the space under and around the bridge.

The three images above show an artist painting a women on the wall, with his sketchbook in hand and sketchbook laying on the spray paint cans. It's so nice to just observe the artists doing their thing - a rare sight! I'll head back there in the next weeks to look at the finished piece.

For the photo nerds:

All photos were taken with my trusty old Fujifilm X-Pro1 with the Fujinon 16-80mm f/4 lens.

All shot in JPG and mostly out of camera with a little retouch in exposure here and there.

All day long DJs provided music during the event

When I arrived the awning was being hung-up, but a strong wind kept it up in the air for a while

I'm already looking forward to next year's Meeting of Styles - and to return in the next weeks to look at the finished pieces!
