From what I have read here and there https://itch.io/docs/butler/ might have ways of working around that a bit. I haven't put anything up myself so you'll have to do your own research beyond this but maybe it'll help.
I do encourage taking a look on getting it to work, speaking for myself at least it is way easier to manage new updates and keep up with creators using the app than doing everything manually!
