the return trip from hell
yesterday was the worst traveling day i have ever had. and i travel pretty frequently. i booked a flight with 2 connections because my origin didn't have anything less reaching my destination and because anything that can happen will happen, it did. the flight using the gate before mine from plane one to two ran late because of weather. this mean my first flight was leaving half an hour late. i spent the entire time hurrying gates one to two only to arrive just in time to watch my plane backing away from the gate. i am now trapped in philadelphia. i ask the women, two of which were getting off for the day, for help. the remaining representative managed to get me no a flight halfway home but all the flights for the remaining trek were fully booked. i would go from being trapped in philly to being trapped in phoenix. when i continue to ask if i'm going to have to pay for a hotel she repeatedly dodges the question and finally waves me down to the service counter where i meet cindy b.
i'm not sure why cindy b is in customer service but i believe she enjoys watching people suffer.
she assures me any additional costs, from flight changes to food to hotels will be my repsonsibility. she tells me i should have forseen this and booked the flight for the day before. that these things happen all the time. that there isn't a manager i can speak to but i can go to the service desk in the terminal of my new flight.
enter patricia m. patricia m has a soul. she still wants to help people. she manages to get me in the right state, a three and a half hour drive from from home.
and in the right state, all commuter flights and trains are fully booked but luckily i have some nice family in the town willing to put up with me for the night so i can take the train back today.
so here i sit on the floor of their son's bedroom because i am to anxious to have slept until my alarm.
