Following install of triggered IoT HUBs, it was noticed that a roller was trending at a significantly higher vibration level than the other rollers on this lifter. A new issue in Desk was opened, highlighting the bearing wear and degradation seen in the data and then notified the plant of the fault.
The maintenance team inspected the bearing and found metal shavings from the worn rolling elements. Within 24 hours, the plant replaced the roller bearing with a new sealed bearing that was already in stock.
