A SENTRYsolutions analyst tracked increases in acceleration over three months, and opened a new issue in Desk. After investigation by the plant’s maintenance team, looseness and bearing fault were discovered.
Bearings were replaced during the plant’s next planned outage. Upon replacement, it was found that the set screws had backed out and shaft was out of tolerance.
