Some panels at Comic Con give you free stuff for coming to the panel. Most of them are (XL) t-shirts, but Glee gave out these huge foam fingers. SARAH AND I PRETENDED THEY WERE GUNS SO WE COULD SHOOT OURSELVES IN THE HEADS. And this is probably the worst picture of me ever, but I love it because LOL FINGER, plus these were taken at the end of the last day of the Con, Sunday evening, and YOU CAN TELL. Those bags under my eyes represent an extended weekend of no sleep, lots of walking, and lots of FUN.

I am literally sitting here staring at the clock, willing it to be 8 already. WHAT IS MY LIFE.

In other (less happy-making) news: Old 97's added more tour dates. NONE IN DETROIT. :( Not even in MICHIGAN. I need them in my life! I'm hoping/praying/wishing they add more. They also don't have Chicago listed, and I think they always go there, sooo I'm taking this as a sign that they might add more dates. If they DO go to Chicago and not Detroit, I may haul my ass down there and go see them with aplethora. ONLY FOR YOU, RHETT. (also I guess aplethora is okay - plus there is also dugindeep 8D)

Two moar Supernatural comics!

Oh, Skin. You gave us shirtless Dean, and then two seconds later showed him peeling his skin off, making his teeth fall out, and generally making this kind of funny yet uncomfortable constipated face. But ooh, glowy!eyes Dean, and a really cool opening, and just a great ep all around.

Quote is Dean's, from earlier in the ep when he's trying to get Sam's attention. Ha!

Oh damn, in hindsight I forgot to put in the Peter Pan joke, instead originally remembering the pillow fight line. DAMN I think the Peter Pan joke would have been funnier. EITHER WAY. In this ep we get Dean and Sam researching together, a cool ghost, and our first SPN kiss! I completely forgot about Sam macking on the preacher's daughter! SAM, your girlfriend just died! Tsk tsk.

Again with the quote misplacement, this is from earlier in the ep when Sam and Dean are lurking and see some girls walk by, and Dean (while looking ADORABLE) comments 'whoa, sorority girls, think we'll see a naked pillow fight?'

Oh wow, okay so, I thought the gods were AWESOME. I wanted to watch them all talk together for at least another hour, it was way too brief. Don't mock my world turtle! KALI WAS AMAZING. Oh man, Tori, ahaha I got so excited to see another BSG actor on the show. Loved the Western arrogance thing. MARKSHA. Oh holy shit, when he was standing in that blood splattered hallway I got CHILLS. And his confrontation with Gabriel, I'm sorry, but Marksha out-acts every single person on this show. Also, I might be in the minority here, but I love the Trickster/Gabriel and I was sad to see that charming asshole go.

MATT FREWER OMG. TRASHCAN MAN!! MY LIFE FOR YOURS!! And he was so. gross. Holy shit. Also WHAT THE FUCK Y'ALL with the rings! And the hidden cage! It's just like...added on! ~~Five~~ Three eps left and btw here's a huge undertaking! Why did we ever need any filler eps this season? Though at least this means the rest of this season will be exciting.

My only question now is why is Cas not back? He came back from the first banishing thing okay, so why all of a sudden is he ~lost~? (Though if you know spoilers don't tell me, ahahaa)

I used to believe that one should "support a title" -- especially an indie title or semi-indie one like ELEMENTALS -- so the authors could experiment with new things. Willingham showed me that wasn't always true -- some folks just can't discriminate between good attention and bad attention.

Life's too short to get indignant at comic books written by folks who feed off indignation. Message boards don't change comic books -- not buying comic books changes comic books.

I dropped Robin ages ago, I don't buy Day of Vengence... I have no idea how long the man will be on Batman, but you know.. no thanks. Now I feel compelled to drop Fables. Fuck him.

Spoilers for August and September's Robin, or, why I hate Bill Willingham:

As Tim prepares to make the biggest decision of his life - whether or not to leave Batman's employ for a Black Ops job in the U.S. government - an old flame comes back into his life. The problem? This one died in the Gotham Gang War. Love has never been so creepy!

Seriously, what is Willingham thinking? And what is DC thinking!? Why are they letting him do stuff like this!? That sounds like the shittiest plot I have ever heard of, and yeah, I can continue to NOT read it... but man, this doesn't just affect Robin, it's going to be part of Tim's fucking back story and it makes me want to hit something. Repeatedly. And by something I mean Willingham.

What. the. fuck. If Batman was a real live person, he would string this Tim up by his Converse shoes and interrogate this Tim until he told Batman where the REAL Tim was.

Am I the only one who is cranky about this whole Nightwing and Starfire are meant to be!!!!!11 crap that has suddenly come up?

Because if Dick is going to end up with anyone ~~who isn't Tim or Bruce or Clark or Roy~~ it should be Barbara, damnit! Isn't it bad enough that Batman/Wonder Woman isn't really canon except in the freaking JLU cartoons? I mean, Catwoman is cool and all, but she just doesn't do much for me. I did enjoy finding my own Batman/Wonder Woman subtext in the latest Wonder Woman comic issue. Diana is blind now, and while she's training Batman comes in to attack her, and she says "Bruce?" in this little voice, and, just. I love. <3 And then she points out he was the only one who didn't hold back while attacking her, and he's all *cranky* "Well did you want me to?" and she's like "No! I love you!". Or something like that. .... And if you consider all that spoilery I advise you to get over it, because I am insane about the spoilers and even I wouldn't consider that spoilery. (Does anyone around here read Wonder Woman, anyway? I picked the newest one up for IC fallout crap. Oh, my comics-trio, I cry for you.)

... I just went on amazon.com, and at the top of the page is some advertisement for Song of Susannah (recommended just for me!), and the opening sentence amuses me...

This reminds me, though, about a dream I had the other night. It was another dream wherein I fangirl'd Stephen King. Why do my dreams keep torturing me like this?? At least in this one I wasn't meeting him, I just wrote him a letter and sent him this painting. I guess I thought he would like the bizarre AU-ness of it all. And, once again, I pimped Lori's Talisman/Dark Tower art, sending him lots of links... ahaha. I should really write him that letter, I'll bet he would love Lori's Roland!

First, a disclaimer. I have used my wacom tablet maybe a total of 5 times because the thing baffles me, Photoshop baffles me, hell, life baffles me. So, mind you, these are doodles. Wah.

Because I am on crack:

doodle for glockgal and octopussy - Both Glock and Jack have Lost listed in their interests, and Glock also has happy!dysfunctional!family, and I know how much she loves them.

Jack took a Lost quiz that said he was most like Jack (Sheppard), I got Charlie, and Glock got Locke. Therefor I dubbed glock!Locke our pretend daddy. :D And no this won't make any sense to you if you haven't seen up to at least episode 5 or 6 of Lost, and even then maybe not. But anyway. So this is a doodle of glock!Locke bringing me!Charlie and jack!Jack (haha) dinner!! :D :D We love our daddy.

(in case you can't tell, me!Charlie is writing on his finger bandages, and jack!Jack is playing with medicines... hee)

doodle for zeelee_penguin - One of Zee's interests is "killing Willinghamfucktard", and I have to say I AGREE 100%. Willingham has publicly stated how much dislike he has for sidekicks and Robin, and yet he's currently writing the Robin comic book. He's done a terrible job, his characterizations suck, and I hate him. Therefor, he must die.
