100 RANDOM PURCHASES #2

The other evening J received his Thinkgeek.com and realized he ordered the wrong size of the Doctor Who TARDIS Polo. He ordered a small instead of a medium. and I was all "I'll give you 20 bucks" and he was all "Done!"
That way he wouldn't have pay for shipping etc. to send it back, and he could just reorder, then we'll have matching shirts.

LOL. IDK if I'll ever even wear it.. probably sometime, I'll just pop the collar and be all awesome and stuff.

Another random purchase, not by me, J bought Melissa the Schrödinger's Cat Executive Decision Maker.

10x cooler then the Magic 8 Ball. lol. Its been making important decisions for me like "Should I go buy roller blades today?" *cat is dead* No? ok. "Should I sit on the deck and drink beer all night instead?" *cat is alive* Ok, sounds like a plan to me.

It did lie to me though, last night, I asked if the Canucks were going to win, and it said yes. And they did not win, and I was sad. But not really, cause the OT goal was gorgeous, and I really like LA too, so whoever came out of that series I was going to be ok with.
Seems like all the top teams are getting knocked out though.

How this post went for DW shirts to Hockey.. I don't know....

My very first post of the "100 Things" Challenge.

Yesterday I went out to celebrate my best friends birthday, we were all meeting up to go bowling down in the other end of the city. I had an hour or so to kill so I went into one of the biggest malls in our city, one I rarely get to and kinda love. I wasn't even in there for 10 minutes and I found a kick ass pair of jeans from American Eagle that were on sale. I hate jean shopping usually, so I totally avoid it most of the time lol, but I seen these, loved them, grabbed a pair, already knew they were the perfect pair of casual jeans even before I tried them on.

Bonus: My sales clerk was a Andre 3000 look-alike HAHA. which was all kinds of awesome. We were making ninja jokes. He was all "Your shopping skillz are pretty ninja" and I was all "thats why I'm wearing all black." He laughed. Then I pretended to throw a smoke bomb before I left and I swear it was the funniest thing he'd ever witnessed in his life by the way he was laughing.

Because everyone is doing it!

I hadn't logged into lj for a week! this needs to stop. I popped onto my flist this morning, and its been flooded with this challange

All I thought was I MUST PARTICIPATE! but then came the hard part, trying to figure out what I could successfully dedicated 100 entries to?
First thought automatically went to fandom related things, because I've been posting about all that kind of stuff for years already, couldn't be that hard right? but then at the same time, I do that anyway.
a hour or so went by, me being all thinky and stuff.. THEN I remembered something the boy roomie had said a few weeks ago.
Wow, we sure do buy alot of random stuff don't we? we should start posting photos online called "random things we buy." I had to laugh, because yes we do buy quite alot of random stuff. For ourselves and for eachother.

Mini felt Arthur/Merlin, Tenth & Eleventh Doctors

Ahhhhh Its a paradox!!!

I'm almost died cuteness overload. She did such a wonderful job!!
A few months ago, she had posted on fb that she was making texmexx24 Merlin/Arthur set, and I asked if I could commission her to make me a set too. She wouldn't have any of the commission nonesense, and said she would be more then happy to make me some, & that she loves doing this kind of thing. I almost forgot about it too, until I saw I had post from her. So much detail in Arthur's chainmail, its all sparkly and shiny just like him! and then there are Merlins ears, I think those might be my favorite.

I squeeked when I seen the Doctors though, she doesn't even watch DW, and she really got them both spot on, the photos don't really do Ten justice, she got his hair perfectly disheveled, and those little wee converse! ♥ and Eleven is just perfection!

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to play puppets.
Arthur is in trouble and Merlin teams up with the Doctor(s) and come to his rescue.

This episode hit so many emotions.

- I don't know if that was the end end of Cas.. If it is.. I'm not overly upset. I loved Cas, don't get me wrong. but after last season, and the things he did to the boys. I don't know. I kind of started to not like canon!Cas very much.
Dean is sad though.. even though he won't full out admit it, he lost his someone he cared about very much... and that makes me sad :(

Cas fans are probably pretty pissed, (and thats probably the understatment of the year...don't shun me)
But they had to of known somewhere deep down that something like this was bound to happen.
This show has always been about Sam and Dean.
Sure its got a little sidetracked over the years but in the end its always about them. Losing the people~~/angels~~ they love has ALWAYS been a part of their life. Almost everyone they've every cared about is gone.
They lose. They grieve. They move on. And if someone happens to come back from the "dead" they take that as it is too.
If Cas comes back (which he probably will in some way shape or form) then I'll probably be happy to see him again. But after the last year and the shit he put those boys (and bobby) through, I think its time they focus on themselves now, even for just a little while. y/y?

- The Sam/Lucifer dynamic is owning me. I LOVE Mark Pelligrino something fierce, and to see him back makes me giddy.
I'm really happy Sam confessed to Bobby and Dean that he was seeing Lucifer, confessed his hallucinations, admitted that he couldn't tell what was real or not. Honestly is always key Sam..

- How do you say"I Love You" and "I care about your stupid face" in Bobby?

- That moment between Sam and Dean in the warehouse is probably
ONE OF THE BEST BROTHER MOMENTS I'VE SEEN IN AGES!!!

- Dean broke me when he made it VERY clear what would happen if they lost Bobby.
He would grab his Beautiful Mind brother and drive off a cliff.
Oh my heart. ♥

All in all I am over the top impressed. 2 episodes in and I'm loving this storyline and how its continuously running episode to episode.

I don't talk about the show much anymore, and in the past year I've kind of drifted away from fandom. Sometimes that saddens me, Because I do still love it with all my heart, If I didn't I wouldn't make a point (even still) to make sure I watch it EVERY single week when it airs, and I will continue to watch it until the day they decide to end it. This show has been such a huge part of my life for so long. I've met some of my more dearest friends through this fandom, & in some ways its brought my sister and I closer.

Carry on my Wayward Son has been my alarm clock for the past 5 years. every morning I wake up to it, and I don't think I'll ever change that. I hear it on the radio I turn it up. & long after the show is over and done with. I will hear it and think of the Winchesters

Fic & Art recs

Today I go back to work. *sigh* a week wasn't nearly long enough. I'm kind of happy the weather is all gloomy. seems fitting lol. But before I leave I have a couple recs :)

I finally finished reading this fic, it felt like it took me forever to get though. life just kept getting in the way lol.

A Fistful of Infinity and Starlight by junkshop_disco | Merlin Canon | Merlin/Gwaine | NC17 | 64k

Summary: Uther’s insane, Morgana’s plotting a new assault on Camelot, and Arthur and his knights are clueless but supposedly in charge. In the midst of it, Gwaine finds himself harbouring feelings for a man who apparently has a destiny, and learns something new about magic: it doesn’t play fair, and serving it shakes everything you hold dear – whether you’re a sorcerer or not. (Gwaine/Merlin, with Arthur/Gwen, Gwen/Lancelot, Leon/mead on the side)

This story owns my heart completely. It was the first fic I chose to read from paperlegends Big Bang, which IMO was odd because I haven't read a whole lot of Merlin/Gwaine. But something drew me to it, and I'm really happy I gave it a go. It toyed with my emotions something fierce. I laughed, I cried (sobbed in fact), I was so happy I thought I'd burst. Seeing life and love though Gwaines eyes was incredible, he is so fun & so full of heart that I wanted to dive right in to the fic, scoop him him and hug him for dear life.

I could go on and on about how amazing this fic is, but really just go read it, if you haven't already.
EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT A MERLIN/GWAINE SHIPPER. You will not be disappointed :D

Supernatural set experience.

I know I have A TON to post about the past 2 weeks, but first things first...
While visiting my sister in Vancouver... we got to experience the Supernatural set for 07.03

Last Thursday (July 14th) While unfortunatehero and I were bombing around North Vancouver, I had caught wind...

_{(and by caught wind.. I mean I was totally not stalking the the hell out of #YVRShoots on twitter ^.^ which btw if you ever do go to Vancouver and want to set stalk pretty much anything.. that is the hashtag you want to check out... just sayin....)}

...of where Supernatural was filming for the next 2 days. So I popped the location into my GPS, and it turned out it wasn't too far away from where we were at that moment.

SCORE.

We had an hour or so to kill before going back downtown to pick up my sister from work, so we drove to the location.

I knew they wouldn't be there during that time, as the tweet said it was going to be a night shoot (9:30pm-3am-ish), but we went up there nonetheless to check it out. When we arrived the first thing we saw was...

Im not going to lie. I squeed a ~~lot~~ bit...

1. because it was pouring rain.
2. the shoot was at night. no flash photography
3. there was ALOT of eerie fake fog}

The crews were just starting to set up, there wasn't much to see other then lights, and cranes, camera, and a whole lot of set related things. We walked around a little bit. I texted my sister telling her we found the location, and that we were totally coming back later! she was ecstatic!! she's been living in Vancouver for a few years now, and never came across a SPN set before.

We then left the park, went to pick her up. (it was only 4pm so we had lots of time to kill) We went to the aquarium (more on that in later vacation entries) went for some dinner, then headed back up to the location around 8-ish.

The park was closed to the public at 10pm, so we weren't entirely sure if we would get to actually see any filming, before the park was closed, but we wondered around, in the cold rain. The weather was complete shit. talked with some of the crew guys who were setting up camera, trying to keep them dry. etc. We found a nice little covered picnic area so we took shelter there from the rain for a while.
We weren't sure where they wouldn't be shooting first. It seemed like they had 3 or 4 sets made through out the park, lights everywhere from the parking lot to the other end of the park.
I ended up taking a little walk in the rain back up to my car, I went back through the parking lot and there she was.

The Impala.

Seriously guys. TV does not do her justice. She is the sexiest car in existence. no lie. I wanted to run up and dry hump her. LOL

I went back to out little rain-free, and saw this tweet

at this point we had no idea what episode was being filmed, nothing. nada.

so my sister goggled it. (small article re: Jewel and SPN **spoilery**)

Turns out the episode were were on the set for was:
a) The first episode they were shooting in Season 7
b) Episode 07.03
c) it is a Flashback episode
d) Jewel's playing Sam’s long lost childhood sweetheart
e) It appears to be a Sam-centric episode
f) JENSEN IS DIRECTING!

We started to walk back up close to the main entrance to the park, not even realizing the had started shooting until a PA stopped us and put his finger over his mouth indicating "shhhhh" so we stood there and watched for a minute while they shot something in the far end of the parking lot, then we were good to go. We walked up to the entrance. and stood listening really. We couldn't see much due to the Fog, the dark, and the fact that they were shooting a scene with Sam in the Impala.
She revved, and I think I had a bit of a orgasm.

During every take we heard Jensen yell "ACTION!" or "ACTION Ya'll!" and I couldn't wipe the stupid grin off my face.

A Blue Ford Escape pulled in to the lot. and it was Jewel Staite.
They shot a scene with her driving in and parking, getting out and walking into the woods. They did about 6 or 8 takes of that scene.
From the looks of the plate on the vehicle the episode takes place in Montana.
she would back the car right up and out of the shot of the camera. About 10 feet or so in front and to the right of where we were standing. We got a nice close up view of her, which was AWESOME because I ♥ her

Jared was no where to be seen, and all of a sudden 2 dogs came running up the side walk past us and down the parking lot towards the trailer.
One of them was Sadie, and the other I believe was one of Genevieve's little dogs (I don't know their names)

They then started to move the set to our side of the parking lot to shoot Jewels scene / Jared's scene from a different angle.
We seen Jensen quite a bit at this point, running back and forth across the lot. He looked slimmed down. Wearing Jeans, Ball cap, sweater/jacket rolled up sleeves, and chewing gum. lol.
Then we seen Clif wonder over the parking lot. and he spotted us. he seriously started giving us the stare down.. LOL. my sister and I were like.. WTF we were 3 of the 4 fans here, one of us is chatting up the the PA and talking with the other fan who was there to see Jewel only. then he started walking slowly towards up, probably trying to get a feel if we were crazy or not LOL.
No we aren't crazy SPN stalkers who want to attack j2. don't worry ^.^

We got a quick glimpse of Jared wearing Sams typical attire Brown jacket & Jeans from the looks of it as they started to move the set back further into the woods.

By this time It was after midnight sometime, and we knew we'd probably not be allowed further into the park as it was closed to the public now. so we decided to call it a night and went home.

Seriously one of the coolest experiences ever. Its too bad I didn't take any photos. Michelle snapped a few without the flash, but I'm not sure how well they turned out yet. When she posts them I'll be sure to link...

And now I can cross off "Watching them film a scene" off my SPN Bucket list! :D

That I went to Vegas... and didn't post any pictures? LOL

well...

better late then never right?

so like I said.. what? like 2 months ago.. VEGAS kinda owns me now. it Seriously owns me. I want to go there, and live on the strip and smoke and drink and party and listen to AMAZING music for the rest of my life.

when thisis_melissa or texmexx24 or I feel blue, all we do is think of Vegas, and all our woes go away...

first things first. The reason for that trip... one simple word.

FOREIGNER

back in like January texmexx24 was all "WHO WANTS TO GO TO VEGAS TO SEE FOREIGNER?" and my sister and I were all OH HELL YES.
the show was the first night we were there, at a huge ranch/hotel/casino off the strip.

These guys rock out worlds. forserious. probably one of the best concerts I've ever been at. and that is saying alot. because i've been to a ton.
& we all kinda wanted to jump on stage and lick Kelly Hansen all over. That man is all KINDS of AWESOME.
They did all our favs and all the classics.

After the show, we just kind of bombed around the resort casino for a while. Sat at the bar and drank $1 margeritas, talked about boys, and life etc etc. good times.
Then we headed back down to the strip. told the cabbie to drop us kinda center strip. That landed us at Ceasers Place.

Where we unknowingly walked through a music video shoot. LOL

We went into the Ceasers Place shopping center. but it was really late so all the shops were closed. We just ended up snapping some pics. but the only one i'm going to show... is this one. because basically the conversation my sister and I had on FB made my life.

ok ok. so next day. we wake up pretty early to start our assult on the strip.

we see, and do everything we wanted to.

texmexx24 and I rode the awesome fun rollercoster at the NYNY

took a picture with a random greased up SPARTAN.

ONLY IN VEGAS I TELL YOU.. ONLY IN VEGAS...

I met 2 MJ impersonators.

but all I really wanted to do was see the Captian Jack Sparrow Impersonator. I was on a mission the entire weekend to find him. He was (according to my bff roomie) THE BEST CPT. JACK SHE'S EVER SEEN. And well. I'm a bit of a pirate whore. so I was on the look out for him everywhere we went. more on that later....

We walked in and out of every casino we could. Everything was just so surreal, I can't believe we waited this long to take a trip down there.

For any one who is a HIMYM fan.. you'll understand this.. & you will also understand that I HAD TO DO IT OK. :D

we stumbles. by complete chance (and not by the fact that the marquee said $2 beer on it) in to a casino/bar called O'Sheas only to realize that the beers weren't $2.. but $1

*CUE SKY OPENING UP, SUNLIGHT BURSTING THROUGH AND ANGELS SINGING*

This place was our VEGAS HOLY GRAIL. forserious.

we sat down with our dollar beers, planning on only having like one, then continuing on venture up the strip.
well 1 beer turned in to 2
turned in to amazing live music
turned in to 3 beers then 4
led to free hugs

turned into meeting some pretty awesome dudes
turned into 5 beers then 6
turned into meeting some pretty cool girls
turned into finding out 100 MONKEYS WAS PLAYING A "free" SHOW ACROSS THE STREET AT MIDNIGHT.
turned into 6 or 7 beers
turned into us wanting to go to the free show with our new dude friends
turned into my sister wanting to still hang with the girls

turned into us walking up the strip and texmexx24 telling all the girl clicker guys that she loves penis on our way to a) take my sister to another live band playing in another casino so she should hang out with the awesome girls we met and b) texmexx24 and I making our way with our new guy friends to the Cosmopolitan to see 100 fucking MONKEYS.

so we are split up. all is good. my sister was going to text me if and when she wanted to meet back up.

texmexx24 and I wondered the Cosmo with our friend John.. and found some Gigantic shoes.

yes shoes. huge shoes. we needed to sit in them like now.

MY LIFE WAS NOW COMPLETE.

my sister ended up texting me just before the first set was going to go on..
(how i remember all this i will never EVER know...)
so I met up with her and made it back to the concert just in time for the second set.

let me tell you... Jackson Rathbone was amazing. AMAZING.
(if you don't know who Jackson Rathbone is... I guess he is most well known for his role as Jasper Hale in the Twilight series...)
and yes, its because of Twilight that I know who he is, and heard of his band.
Anways...

We were so close to him, we could of probably reached across the bar and touched him...

by the end of the show.. I don't even know. we decided to go gamble. I lost... (but thats totally ok.. because i totally won like 100 bucks earlier that day.)
my sister found texmexx24 half asleep on a VLT and decided to take her back to the hotel.

I wanted to hang with the 2 guys some more though. so I did. They were totally cool. A bit older and were working in Vegas for like a month.
I decided to go back to their place.. Im a really good judge of character, I wouldn't of just went with random strangers if i didn't feel safe...
they were so AWESOME though. they had rented out a condo just off the strip, in a little gated community.
We sat out on their balcony drank beer and listened to tunes and chatting up a storm until like 7am, when I decided "oh hey the sun is up... maybe i should head back" so I did.

The next day we were up again early. especially considering i didn't go to bed til after 7am. and did it ALL over again.

We had an amazing dinner of Margeritas and nachos at Jimmy Buffets Mareritaville. to die for. let me tell you.
if you go to Vegas. go there. seriously.

and.. I finally spotted my captain...

I was like "YOU. I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR YOU ALL WEEKEND!!"
and oh my god. this guy was brilliant. it was Jack to a T. mannerisms and everything. MY VEGAS TRIP WAS COMPLETE.

tHEN where do we end up again... yup. O'Sheas. for some more $1 beers and amazing live music.
we made some new friends. One in particular. His name is Steve. :D

We bought the band beers, and he came down after the show and hung out with us for a while.
hes in the band Mostly Thieves that i was pimping out last week.

Anyways.

Wow, it seems like FOREVER since I posted any type of real update here. Just a couple drive-by posts in the past week or so.

I have ALOTS to talk about. like WHOA. So much amazing shit has happened the past couple days. but right now, ha, I don't have time to go into it, because I literally just got in the door, and I have to go right back out again...

I do however have time to pimp out this REALLY fucking amazing band.
because a) I always do what my sister tells me to do, and she asked me to spread the love. and b) because they're really fucking AMAZING
Mostly Thieves are out of Las Vegas, and they have just released their first 6 singles for $0.99 a download. Its just some really chill and relaxed tunes that make me very happy.
