I realised this morning I hadn't actually posted here just in my own journal and on FB.

Roy sadly passed away on Sunday the second on June after a long fight with cancer and the other illnesses that plagued him.

His funeral is today and we will be celebrating his life by wearing colours, eating his favourite pub food of hot roast pork sandwiches and having a never ending duck race.

If you are local please message me, roobarb, direct for our plans for the day. It is also possible to view the service online either at the time or later in the week, there are posts on my journal about this.

Been for second DVT scan,clear, wound healing well, rupture will be reviewed 10th Dec unless it gets worse or infected.

Yesterday I was given the full cold jelly and slidey probe treatment but they did not find it, Bloods say I have a DVT but it is hiding, so guess what? I have to go though it all again next week, they think it is in my lower leg where they can't track it, so they stuck a needle in my belly in order to thin my blood in hope that the clot will move into a visible area. meanwhile if I get a sudden pain in my foot or chest I have to do the nines.

Hitched a ride back home in an ambulance at 03:00am got to go back for 09:00hrs for a scan. Deep Vein Thrombosis confermed, now have to find out where and what to do about it. Transport Control just rang to conferm collection.

I'm back home now ,thank you for all your msgs., things did not go exactly to plan but I still can count to twenty ;-)
If you sent an e-mail I have not read it, I came home to over 750, I can't sit on here long enought to read them all let alone reply, so I scrubbed them all.

Off to the Northern General at 08:00hrs for a bit of vascular surgery to restore the circulation to my left leg by stenting the femoral artery and one behind my knee, hopefully, if it does not work start chopping! If this one goes O.K. they will do the other one later, They decided not to interfere with my aortic aneurysm as it's too risky to attempt without opening me up.

Ambulance to collect me at 07:30hrs for Vascular MRI with contrast, invest your money in Gadolinium 64, there will be a world shortage by the time they have filled me up, one advantage is I am likely to become fluorescent, so people won't bump into me in the dark :-)

The big toe saga

For the last three weeks I have had a painful and inflamed big toe, my doctor referred me to the Vascular Surgeon, I have an appointment last week but there was a transport cock-up and I was not picked up, it was sorted out and I saw him yesterday, the prognosis is that I have a limited blood supply to my foot and there is nothing I can do to mitigate it. He said, several times that my foot is "salvageable" he avoided my several direct references to my toe, so I'm sure I am to lose it. Needless the prospect does not appeal to me. I had the option of being admitted right away to wait for a vascular scan, or to sit it out until they could arrange it, I chose the latter, but if it suddenly becomes extremely painful I will be admitted at once. I must admit that the prospect of being disfigured bothers me more than my previous nephrectomy.

The whole day has got to pot, sat waiting 1 1/2hrs for hospital transport, rang to check, receptionist had logged transport but forgot to book it, so I have to wait until Monday, and this was supposed to be emergency treatment!
