It’s been over five years since the virus broke out, and still the tribes are fighting for dominance, power and the future of the city. After the Technos dominance began to fade, they joined ranks with the returning Chosen. The reveal that Zoot was not dead after all left everyone reeling, and the rebels disheartened. Power and chaos was the rule, until a failed assassination attempt at Zoot’s life made him strike out. Two members of each tribe were chosen to participate in the Pain Games. Not everyone made it out alive. Three months later Zoot and the Chosen have more chaos than power and the tribes in and outside the city are banding together for the final blow.

We have several canon characters currently available, including Amber, Patsy, KC, Darryl, Lottie, Gel and Alice. The full list can be found here. We are also open for original characters, and at the bottom of the list you can find a list of tribes and how many open spots they have now.

Other links:
Bill of Rights
Plot
Auditions
Character Lists
Directory
Plotting section
If you have any questions you can send me a message, or ask in the chat at the top of the site. :)

If you have never seen the show, only seen part of it, or feel a need to re-watch it, most of the episodes can be found HERE and they are still working on uploading the rest.

NEED YOUR HELP!

http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/anne-williams-in-new-fight

I need everyone from the UK or with a UK address to sign this petition, for Anne Williams who lost her son and has just been diagnosed with terminal cancer. She has fought for 23 years for a new inquest into her son's death, and while the process is getting there it might be too slow for her to experience getting justice for her son. If you don't like in the UK or have a UK address, then please ask anyone you know who does to sign it and spread the word. She needs this, and fast!

http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/40925

Okay, so you might have seen me talk about the Hillsborough disaster before, where 96 men, women and children (the youngest was 10) died at a football game after a crush. Recently a new independent report made it clear that not only were the police solely responsible for the lack of security, but over half of those who died could have been saved if they had gotten the necessary help from police and ambulance services (only one ambulance was let into the stadium, several dozen ambulances were stopped and waited outside). 15-year old Kevin Williams was one of those that could have been saved, and for many years his mother has tried to get a new inquest into his death so that his death certificate tells the truth. Back during the first inquests, a very unfair and now proven untrue cut-off point was put at 3.15 on the day, claiming everyone was braindead by that time. This has now been proven untrue. Anne Williams has known for years that her son didn't die by that time, as a woman who sat with him when he died told her that around 4pm he was still alive and asked for his mother. She had a coroner look into the evidence, who came with the conclusion that cause of death didn't add up. Despite the evidence she found, it's not until the recent report came out that she has seen much hope of getting her son's case looked into. But unfortunately, she now most likely does not have the time left to wait for the system.

I would really appreciate it if all of you who can could sign this petition. I've been taking part in this woman's campaign for a few years now, and cried of joy for her and the others when the report came out last month. So this news hit me like a ton of bricks. I just want her to see justice for her son before she dies. It takes you a few seconds to sign that petition. It takes you a few seconds to post the link on your twitter, facebook, tumblr, or wherever else you can.

All UK citizens and residents on my f-list, could you please sign this petition: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/19149

Anne Williams has waited over 20 years to find out the truth about how her son died on April 15th 1989 in the crush that killed 96 people at Hillsborough football stadium in Sheffield. All she wants is a chance to get an inquest into her son's death at Hillsborough, independent from the cut-off time that was put in place back then. All evidence of anything that happened after then has been ignored because it was decided everyone had died before 3.15 pm on the day, but she has evidence that her son was still alive after that point that has never been heard. She has been denied the right to justice for so long. If she gets enough signatures on this petition her son's case will get a hearing to determine whether she will get a new inquest. I can't sign it myself, because I'm not from or live in the UK, so I'm asking for help from my friends to do it for me. Even those of you who can't sign, please spread the word to people you know who can. She needs over 80,000 signatures by Thursday, and that's a big ask so she needs all the help she can get.

If you want to read more about this, here are a few links:
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/hillsborough-disaster/2009/04/14/hillsborough-mother-anne-williams-has-spent-18-years-campaigning-for-new-inquest-into-death-of-teenage-son-115875-21277880/

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillsborough_disaster

http://www.contrast.org/hillsborough/

The Tribe - A New World review (Spoilers ahoy!)

I'll start with the negatives, to get it out of the way.

The DO NOT WANT parts:

*I started out enjoying the writing style, but I felt that about halfway through the book it started getting worse. Maybe there was more rush when they worked on the second half of the book, I don't know. Some sentences were weirdly built up, I felt some of the punctuation was a bit random at times, like there was a punctuation mark placed in the middle of a sentence or where a comma should have been instead. I wouldn't blame it on the author alone, it screams of bad editing to me. Especially the one part in a conversation between Jay and Amber where Jay is described as having been Jay's general. Also the fact that the two times Cloe was mentioned, her name was spelled as Chloe. Everything official has always spelled it without the H. Stuff like that should have been caught and fixed in editing.

*Characterization was mostly good. Apart from with Trudy. How many times did they manage to describe her as hysterical and her her actions being done hysterically? Yes, she was always prone to hysterics, but COME ON! She did nothing useful in the entire book! All she seemed to do was cry, scream, shout or wail "hysterically". Especially when Camp Phoenix was attacked near the end of the book I felt really pissed off that she was written as simply sitting there holding Brady and screaming as hysterically as the kids were doing. I mean, WTF? If Brady was in danger there is no way Trudy wouldn't be on her feet defending her like a lioness with her cub. I felt like A.J. Penn must have been thinking throughout that "Trudy, she's the hysterical one" and completely ignored every other aspect of her character. It was alright in the beginning. It felt realistic that Trudy would be one of the first to snap under the extreme circumstances on that small boat, with the lack of food and water and her child's life being in danger and the way her mood has always gone from highs to lows. But once they were all under better conditions it just started pissing me off that Trudy kept being written as those pathetic girls that always die first in horror movies because all they manage to do is scream a lot.

*Also, an entire book set not too long after the events of s5, and not a single mention of the fact that Jay and Amber got together behind Trudy's back. No show of emotion from her over their relationship. The closest thing we got was a melodramatic comment from her about "oh great, even they can't get along now, we're DOOMED!" after they had a fight.

*Too many characters. I really would have expected them to kill of a few more. And the few deaths we did get were kind of "meh". Zak barely had time to make an impact before he was killed off, and his relationship with May we saw so little of that I found it difficult to have an emotional reaction to her grief. And with so many new characters and tribes introduced I feel a bit confused as to who is who.

*Ruby/Slade? No, just no. I cannot find a single thing I like about this. And it's not just about wanting Ruby/Ram either, it just felt very underdeveloped for Slade to suddenly be all "I love you! Oh, we're gonna have a baby together after all. YAY! Ebony who?" after being pretty much unconscious for most of the book.

*The only character who actually returned was Bray. Still no answers about anyone else. I don't count KC, Alice and the Guardian since we already knew they were alive. Even they we only got mentions of.

*Too much summarizing. And telling. I like the concept of "show, don't tell" in storytelling, there was way too little showing and too much telling. I mean, Jay and Bray had a conversation alone? And all we get is a line or two mentioning it? What? I don't like the endless amounts of love triangles involving Amber and/or Bray, but that is one meeting I would have liked to have seen more of. Also, more reactions to Bray returning. Especially from Trudy. The first meeting between Bray and Ebony we also got way too little off. I feel like too much of the action in the second half of the book was just lines of things being summed up instead of us getting to experience it.

*Lex/Gel. Not that there was much of it, but anything at all is too much for my liking. It just creeps me out.

*Jay/Amber. Enough said.

The NOT SURE IF WANT stuff:

*Darryl/Salene? Takes some time getting used to. I like the idea of Salene having someone who makes her smile, but I suppose we'll see in the next book how it all develops. I'm not convinced by it, he doesn't strike me as her type. So far it seems very one-sided as well. And Darryl's stunt at playing unconscious to get her to kiss him was really low.

*Jay. I mean, he was alright in this book. And the fact that he told Amber and Bray that he would step aside if they wanted to get back together I felt was really noble of him. At the same time he had comments like "Ram has a lot to answer for" with no acknowledgement that he also has about as much to answer for.

*Ram. I'm still not sure where he stands, but I am intrigued by what he revealed about the Collective.

*It was a difficult balance with so many characters and the new ones especially, to really get very deep with anything. I don't feel like they got it completely right, I felt like too much was just skimming the surface in terms of emotions and relationships and all that. We got a lot of insight into Bray and Amber's feelings and thoughts, but not really with anyone else. It is a difficult balance though, with so many characters who all deserve at least a bit of mention and stuff to do.

*Eloise and Blake. Both of them creeped me out like they were supposed to, but they were also too evil, almost to the point of being ridiculous. Blake is apparently dead now to, although without a body we can never be sure.

*Ebony. On the one hand I quite liked her doing her own thing and being her evil selfish manipulative self. But the thing is, from here on I can't see how they can ever get her back with the Mallrats. Are they planning on making her a complete enemy again now, rather than being the loose canon on the inside like she had been since pretty much the end of s1? Cause if the Mallrats ever accept her back into the tribe after all this, on top of everything else they've let slide in the past, it would be ridiculous. It would be the dumbest thing they ever did. But if they don't, then Ebony's time as part of the Mall Rats' story would be limited, wouldn't it? I don't know how many books they're planning though, or where they're taking the whole story with the Collective. I just can't see her being able to jump from enemy tribe to enemy tribe for very long before it just starts being a lame recycled plot. So that's why I'm unsure of Ebony's part in this book, and I think I will be until the next one to see what happens with her there.

The DO WANT stuff:

*Jack. Just, everything he did was awesome.

*All the Jack/Lex interaction was brilliant. I would so love to have the bits with them as captives of the native tribe filmed. Caleb and Mikey would have killed those scenes.

*Gel actually got some useful stuff to do, on top of being her annoying vain self. I always had a soft spot for her, and so I loved that she got several small moments of awesome. One or two snarky comments, saving Trudy and Brady by spraying hairspray on the soldier's face. That was brilliant. And her bonding with the Native's Priestess over hair talk was pretty funny to.

*OMG! IT'S A TRIBE BOOK! It'S HERE! IT'S HERE! In all honesty, the books very existence is awesomeness for me. I've been waiting for so long for something new.

*Lia seemed like a new and interesting character. Not liking the hints of Lia/Lex though, for one thing their names are way too similar. How would we ever make a ship name for them? :p Secondly, we know they will bring back Tai-San eventually, quite possibly in the next book, so why bother going there? I'm so sick of all romantic storylines having to revolve around triangles. There are other ways.

*Emma and her younger siblings. I really liked them. The idea of a blind girl having to raise her brother and sister in a world like that is very intriguing. I want to know more about her.

*The Collective seemingly being some huge mix of Techno and Chosen and soldiers working together, for evil. The Mall Rats have their work cut out for them. I am weirdly excited by the prospect of this.

*The native tribe. I found them very intriguing. I'd love to see how that all develops, especially now that they seem to be an ally of the Mall Rats. The whole relationship between the Priestess and Lia is very interesting to, and Lia's whole role in their tribe.

*Ellie had some moments of awesome, and seemed more like the Ellie of s2-s3 that I loved rather than the bland copy of s4 (granted, she was going through depression at the short time we saw her) and especially s5. I also found myself actually liking the few little moments we got with her and Jack. Still don't ship it, but at least I didn't mind it.

*There was a mention of Danni. Her existence was actually acknowledged. Yay! :D

*The mention of Ryan and Paul apparently both being alive? YAY! Give me Ryan back in the next book and I could easily forgive just about anything.

*Bray/Amber reunion was actually really sweet and heartwarming. And Bray finally getting to meet his son as well. I wish we could actually have seen that though, rather than just having it summarized as most other things were in the second half of the book.

Overall I thought the book was good, with some flaws. Which is about what I expected. The only thing I strongly disliked was, as mentioned, Trudy's characterization, the other flaws in terms of writing style and all that I could live with, even if it grated on me. Trudy is my fave girl after all, so I feel disappointed that she didn't even get a single moment where I wasn't rolling my eyes or feeling frustrated at how she was written.
I feel like they tried to press too much action into one book though. They could easily have cut down on a lot of the beginning stuff of the Mallrats, first on the boat and then on the cargo ship, and spent more time on showing us the new tribes and characters, and on fleshing out the action and interaction that happened later on. I kinda feel like the second half of the book should have been at least 4/5 of the book, at least 2/3, rather than just half of it. I'm hoping the book coming in 2012 will be better than this one though. I think they could benefit from splitting up the characters early on in the second book. Some of them simply have no role left to play, in my opinion. I am kind of suspecting that might be why they made Ruby pregnant after all though, and put her and Slade together. It might be because they are planning on having the two of them settle down somewhere else to raise their child, maybe they'll even try to go back home to Liberty, and then they'd be out of the story but with a happy ending.

I'm trying to make some sort of sense to what happened in my country yesterday, but there is none. I went to bed last night knowing that a bomb had killed 7 in Oslo, and a gunman killed at least 10 on Utøya. I knew the numbers would rise, but to wake up to see "over 80 killed" was another shock. Over 80 kids. Our future leaders. And the bastard calls himself a nationalist.

My country has been changed forever, I know that. This is the worst thing that's happened to us since World War 2. But we won't be broken. Our prime minister said yesterday that the answer should be more democracy, and I agree. We can't let fear overtake us.

New bids, official statements, lfc.tv apparently refusing statements from H&G, then a statement from Broughton saying they've accepted a bid and the club is being sold, but wait! H&G are still trying to block it! I don't know whether to be excited or worried or if I should just go back to bed and wake up when it's done.

Oh god.... and I'm going to Greece on Saturday!
Oh god... I love this show. I don't think any other show has ever managed to break my heart, heal it again, break it and heal it within the space of 50 minutes.
I actually cheered when Charlie shot that woman at the end. 8 years in that hell... and then finally be reunited with his parents. And when he just tried to make the parents of that other boy feel better by telling them their son died protecting the little girl, only for them to realise that after having been missing seven years he had died just the day before the others were found. God... damn you show, I'm going to be an emotional wreck the rest of the day now.
Also, Gubler as a director? Me likes.

Friends cut

I never usually do a friends cut, I occasionally remove someone from the f-list because they haven't been active in a while, but this is the first time I've actually cut people who are still around. The reason is simply that I don't have time for lj as much as I used to before I started school again last year. My f-list was so full of people and communities that it always felt like such a big task to go through, especially when it had been a few days since last time. And it always ends up with me just skimming through posts or not bothering at all. So I'm hoping this will make it easier to focus on those of you I still talk to on occasion. It was about time I did this, really.
If I have cut you and you for some reason want to get back on the f-list, then let me know. It is entirely possible that I have deleted people without meaning to as well, cause it's nearly midnight here and I am tired. Probably should have picked a time of the day where I'm more awake, but done is done.

Just found some great Brann videos on Youtube. Thought I'd share them with the f-list.

TV2's video montage of the day the gold came home To the song "Sloop John B", the original for the melody of the big hit for all Brann-supporters this year "Gullet ska hem". It gives me chills watching it. :D
All the Brann goals this season
Another montage from TV2 This time set to a poem. Can't be bothered to translate it, sorry... but the clips are good enough to watch anyway. :D

You'll never walk alone

The first thing I want to post about today is something serious. This is related to football, but it is much more serious then that, so don't you non-football people on my f-list look away.
What I want, is for you guys to sign this petition.
For those of you who don't know about Hillsborough, or the Sun, or what Kelvin MacKenzie has to do with any of it, read this.
The Hillsborough disaster was a deadly human crush that occurred on April 15, 1989, at Hillsborough, a football stadium in Sheffield, England, resulting in the loss of 96 lives.

On the Wednesday following the disaster, Kelvin MacKenzie, then editor of The Sun, a British tabloid newspaper owned by Rupert Murdoch, used the front page headline 'THE TRUTH', with three sub-headlines: 'Some fans picked pockets of victims'; 'Some fans urinated on the brave cops'; 'Some fans beat up PC giving kiss of life'

All of this has been proved lies, yet Mackenzie has again claimed this is the truth.
"I wasn't sorry then and I'm not sorry now because we told the truth"
Read about it here and here

The Sun has been boycotted by a lot Liverpool-fans and people in Liverpool ever since that.

The meaning of the petition is to get BBC to stop giving this man jobs, as people, including survivors of Hillsborough and others who lost someone that day, pay license to BBC. Especially at Christmas they shouldn't have to deal with this.
I found all this at RAWK forums, where I tend to lurk a lot. If you want, you should go check out what else they're planning here.

I don't know if the petition will work, because let's face it, how many online petitions work? But if enough people sign it, it might get some attention. Like here. And BBC can't ignore it if it does.
It's only been up for a few days, and it's up to over 7000 already. It doesn't matter which team you support, or if you don't even follow football. It takes you a few seconds to sign this, so please do. Every little thing can help.

Also visit The Hillsborough Justice Campaign. Though I should warn you, there's a lot of stuff that's difficult to read about. I end up in tears everytime I do.

I was going to post about other things, but I think this deserves a post of it's own. I'll just post the other stuff later, as my dad is nagging me to help him hang up paintings and pictures on the walls.

How to really prevent rape

A lot has been said about how to prevent rape.
Women should learn self-defense.
Women should lock themselves in their houses after dark.
Women shouldn't have long hair and women shouldn't wear short skirts.
Women shouldn't leave drinks unattended. Fuck, they shouldn't dare to get drunk at all.

How about:

If a woman is drunk, don't rape her.
If a woman is walking alone at night, don't rape her.
If a women is drugged and unconscious, don't rape her.
If a woman is wearing a short skirt, don't rape her.
If a woman is jogging in a park at 5 a.m., don't rape her.
If a woman looks like your ex-girlfriend you're still hung up on, don't rape her.
If a woman is asleep in her bed, don't rape her.
If a woman is asleep in your bed, don't rape her.
If a woman is doing her laundry, don't rape her.
If a woman is in a coma, don't rape her.
If a woman changes her mind in the middle of or about a particular activity, don't rape her.
If a woman has repeatedly refused a certain activity, don't rape her.
If a woman is not yet a woman, but a child, don't rape her.
If your girlfriend or wife is not in the mood, don't rape her.
If your step-daughter is watching TV, don't rape her.
If you break into a house and find a woman there, don't rape her.
If your friend thinks it's okay to rape someone, tell him it's not, and that he's not your friend.
If your "friend" tells you he raped someone, report him to the police.
If your frat-brother or another guy at the party tells you there's an unconscious woman upstairs and it's your turn, don't rape her, call the police and report him as a rapist.
Tell your sons, god-sons, nephews, grandsons, and sons of friends that it's not okay to rape someone.

Don't just tell your women friends how to be safe and avoid rape.
Don't imply that she could have avoided it if she'd only done/not done x,y or z.
Don't imply that it's in any way her fault.
Don't let silence imply agreement when someone tells you he "got some" with the drunk girl.
Don't perpetuate a culture that tells you that you have no control over or responsibility for your actions. You can, too, help yourself.

If you agree, repost it. It's that important.

True Story. A religion teacher assigned her class an essay on what makes a good Christian. One student wrote about praying nightly, say no to abortion, banning gay marriage, and donating money. The other student wrote about talking to God and allowing people to enjoy their lives, and supporting gay marriage. The day the teacher was to hand the papers back, she called up the second student and told him she would pray for him when he went to hell. The student asked why would he be going to hell, and why he got an F on his paper. The teacher told him that Catholism is against gay marriage. The student looked at her for a minute, then said aloud, "I'm gay." The teacher kicked him out of class as if he had said fuck or worshiped Satan. A girl in the back of class who had a boyfriend and was obviously straight got up and left too.

If you would leave the classroom, repost this. It doesn't matter if you're straight, bi, or gay. It doesn't matter if you're catholic or not. Everyone is a human being and deserves happiness.
