Sunny isn't just a nickname for Sunkyu, it's a way of life. This girl is bright and almost perpetually happy. She tries her best not to let anything get her or her friends down and because of this, she became the energy and the backbone for her little group. Reliable to fault, she always has an ear for problems and a shoulder to cry on. It takes a lot to get Sunny down, though her most recent foray into being a food source has certainly taken a toll on her energy and bright demeanor a bit. Because she always strives to be happy-go-lucky, anything that makes her mad, sad or stressed just gets bottled up inside her where it stews until she just...breaks down. This is what led to her partying, because her breakdowns always end up being the unhealthiest that they can be. But she bounces back quickly each time to her sunny self, though lately it's been harder and harder to get there. Due to being fed on quite often, she's gotten a bit sickly lately, and she finds it harder and harder to smile and laugh, though now that that job is over, her mood/health has been improving. Just...a lot slower than she'd like.

ABOUT

1994 - 1998
Born a month and a half premature, Sunkyu spent the first few weeks out of the womb in the hospital. Being born so soon her body was too small to support itself, and she spent most of her time in the hospital in an incubator, only being taken out for her mother to feed her. Even when she was finally released from the hospital she was far smaller than her two older sisters had been coming home, though she seem to be a lot more active than those two combined. Her mother was told that some premature babies sleep less but she was amazed at how little Sunkyu needed to sleep. There were a lot of nights in her first year where she and her mother were both up in the middle of the night, both bawling as they walked around the living room. It would take almost a year for her sleeping schedule to even out, and the rest of her family was eternally grateful when she began sleeping through the night. It made day-to-day life a lot easier, especially for both of her sisters since they were going to school, and her mother who could now leave the house for things other than groceries and actually look put together. So Sunkyu got carted around, for groceries, for visits and most often and more importantly, to church. Most of Sunkyu's childhood was spent between home and church, and just before she was old enough to go to school she would end up crying every morning, not wanting to go and sit down quietly for the better part of an hour. She wanted to play with her sisters at school, or go to the playground and go on the swings and the slide. Not sit in a pew and listen to an old man say stupid stuff that she didn't understand. The best part was the singing, but it wasn't anything fun so most of the time she just stood up and sat down when instructed and stared at her feet. One day was different though, and her mother was more excited for her to go to Church, saying she would finally make a friend there after all this time. Sunkyu was suspicious, considering school started in a few days and that's where she would be making friends, not boring old church. But off they went, and it was there she would meet her to-be best friend. Who didn't speak a lick of Korean and sort of drove her nuts, but hey, a friend was a friend.

1998 - 2004
Sunny, as she now prefers to be called, is a rambunctious and happy child. Sure, she has to lug around a girl who barely speaks any Korean but she's learning a bit of English ahead of the class and its nice having someone who wants to play with her all the time. Sunny starts getting into a bit of trouble in her second year of school for bullying boys in her class, but they were bullying her first! Plus, she had no time for that nonsense! If they were bullying her or any of her friends she'd just push them over and keep walking. There was a particular incident where fists and some time off school was involved, but no one spoke about it afterwards, especially the boys who were beaten up by she and her friends. The rest of her elementary school life passes without incident, and as she gets older she just becomes more upbeat and bright, seemingly never having a bad day whatsoever.

2004 - 2007
Middle school is more of the same, except she's coming into her own now. For what she lacks in height she makes up in personality, and she has a pretty big group of friends but sticks to a main few. She's doing well in her classes and her clubs, and she picks up a peculiar habit of taking things apart and putting them back together after watching her uncle who was visiting from away do it for her father to fix his computer. She ends up building herself and her two sisters a computer, and while it isn't the best, she's pretty proud of herself. Life passes by uneventfully for her, spending most of her days hanging out with her small group of friends and playing video games when she's alone. She's becoming a bit of a tomboy, but her mother chalks it up to her being the baby of the family and moves on, betting that that will change once she hits high school and discovers boys.

2007 - 2010
She doesn't change and she doesn't discover boys. Sunny keeps to her group of friends and buckles down in her studying to get ready for university. Both her sisters were already halfway through school, one to become a doctor and the other a businesswoman, but she herself couldn't decide what she wanted to do. But she knew she needed good marks to get into a decent university, so she focused on studying. Well, focused as much as she could with all the drama her friends kept getting themselves into. She had to mediate everything, especially when it came to boys. When she saw how badly her friends her friends were taking break ups and fights, she swore of dating completely. Too much hassle. Imagine if she had a boyfriend and had to deal with all this stuff on the side? Not likely. So she hunkers down, basically ignores most of her friends because the drama was too much, and studies. She actually gets into a pretty prestigious university and she's really excited about it. She graduates and decides to make the summer before she moves to go to school the best one ever. She throws all caution to the wind and tries the partying life, and she loves it. A bit too much, really. Oh well, she'll smarten up before school.

2010 - present
She doesn't. Maybe for a few days once she moves into her dorm and religiously attends her classes for about a week, but once the partying started up she couldn't resist. Drinking every night, not getting up for her morning classes, too hungover for her afternoon ones. It was a vicious cycle that eventually stopped when she decided that she wasn't ready for this sort of educational commitment at this point in her life, and dropped out. Her mother was furious and barely let her back in the house, but she did eventually and Sunny had to figure out what to do with her life at this crossroads. She needed money, so she started working wherever she could find jobs. She waitressed quite a bit, and fixed computers on the side for some pocket change. Once she had enough money, she moved in with one of her friends while they were still going to school to help her with food and rent costs. She tries to tone down the partying a bit, but there was no chance it would last. She somehow balances her active social/nightlife while working days, but she was exhausted all the time. Months go on into years, and Sunny still hasn't gone back to school. She's given up waitressing to fix and build computers as a full-time job, if only because she can make her own schedule. She tones down the partying a bit, actually enjoying what she's doing to make money for once. During her friend's most recent break she finally takes up her uncle's offer of visiting him in Hong Kong, and its there that her life changed forever. Up until then, Sunny had no idea that the supernatural world existed at all, and considered vampires and shapeshifters to be the stuff of stories.
