TUSK!
A Weird Spell From Sketchy Adventures
The fun of making Sketchy Adventures (Coming to You Tube in Jan.) is that we will be working from the artwork out. The game is, for lack of more sophisticated phrasing — All vibe.
We sketch what we want, call it what we want and then make the ruleset follow. Clearly this will never produce Tomb of Horrors, but that’s not the kind of fun we’re here for.
While I was still trying to workout exactly what the Sketchy Adventures idea really was, I started drawing things and making up reasons for their existence after the fact and then playing out the results with my daughter.
This is one example. The angry fellow above is the result of the spell “Tusk” which, when the player shouts the magic word aloud, causes a confused and very angry walrus to appear and start attacking everything around it in a show of domination and contempt.
After walrussing the hell out of everyone for 1D6 turns (arbitrary decision, made up on the spot) it returns to the mating fields from which it was so rudely plucked.
We also decided that if you summon it a second time, or even if the original summoner is with someone else who summons it, then the original caster is included as a target for a good walrussing.
I hope you find this aggravated marine mammal amusing and that he makes your day a tiny bit better. Because that’s what I’m here for.
You can join the Sketchy Adventure right now, if you like! What spell would you create in a world were anything goes? Is there a counter spell to Tusk? What sort of armor would save you? What weapon would aid you? I’d really love t know.
And as always, if I use your input, you will be given credit in the final game!
All my love,
Johnny

Cork! When cast, it places a large cork on the end of a weapon (spear, sword, etc). It doesn’t take away all damage, but reduces it and makes it bludgeoning.
If timed correctly, and upcast for two corks, you might get them on to both those damn Tusks
