Our second time here this year and I think it is really good the facilities are good the pool was heated inside which was great for our trip in September in April the outside pool was open sun was shining I wondered why I bothered going abroad it had all the kids could want. The arcade is quite fun albeit the ticket system doesn’t work in most machines those what we’re working certainly lacking a bit of maintenance there. Entertainment is what you make of it, would advise a few beers prior. Grounds are lovely there’s crazy golf and ping pong as well as pool tables and a snooker table too, kids play park, fields and dog agility course, shop, laundrette, all important punch machine bar area and bar food available, regular bingo and really nice staff.
The rooms were certainly tidy and cleaned it wasn’t immaculate a lot of hair in ours in the shower wrapped round the shower head I didn’t want to touch it and unfortunately dog hair (ours was dog friendly) all on the sofas (which is against policy so not the parks fault per say) in my bedroom again long dog hair it’s a misuse by guests which the next person has to put up with.
I had a dog but wouldn’t let her on the furniture that’s the rules and respectful. Apart from this hairea and the fact caravan is one up from camping Albeit big step up I thought it was great I’m aware it’s not the Hilton me and my family had a great time relaxing here.
Just returned from a weeks holiday with the family, we had such a lovely stay. The caravan lodge was very clean and tidy on arrival and the beds were made up which was a nice touch. We also had a welcome pack with milk, tea, coffee and biscuits, The reception team were welcoming and friendly. The entertainment staff were 10/10. The site is lovely, some bits are a bit outdated but it’s all part of the charm. Would definitely return!!
Our first time staying at a John Fowler site, and if they're all like this it won't be the last.
First impressions were great, a well kept site with a plush looking reception manned by very friendly and helpful staff.
We stayed in a silver dog friendly caravan. Very clean and well equipped for our stay.
Didn't use the pool or other facilities, except the clubhouse of an evening. It was nice not to be ripped off on prices of drinks and food, and also a welcome change for dogs to be welcome.
Disappointing that non dog owning people chose to take up tables in the doggy corner of the room.
We’ve just got home after staying here for a week as a family of 4 in a silver caravan.
The caravan….
Spotless, had everything we needed for the week. Comfy beds, large fridge freezer and a dishwasher so me not having to wash dishes made my week (I hate washing dishes)
The pool….
Open 10-1 and 2-5, clean with a belting view, life guard (chap with the sun glasses) was really polite and helpful, my partner really enjoyed chatting away with him about the park and the local area. Really nice lad. Only downside for the pool according to my kids is “it needs to stay open longer”
The entertainment…
There was 2 male entertainers we seen during our stay and they were hilarious and really put there all into it. It was a nice mix of entertainment for the kids and the adults too.
Activities…..
We were really impressed with how many extra activities were free, there was so much to do for the kids and not once did I hear the dreaded “Im bored!”
Food….
Lady in the kitchen makes a banging lasagna! I had it twice the week we stayed, portions were massive! What can I say the lady can cook! Her partner was a nice chap who couldn’t do enough for the customers and brought my son a takeout box as he couldn’t finish his meal the portion was that big. Prices are surprisingly really cheap for homemade food on a holiday park.
Soft play and arcade….
Soft play was a big hit for my kids and they spent most of their time on site playing with the other kids here. Arcade games were good, couple were out of order but this didn’t affect our stay
Mermaid cove…..
The walk back isn’t for the weak 😂 but it’s really worth the jelly legs you’ll have once you reach the top of the hill on the walk back to your caravan. The water is turquoise and the view is absolutely beautiful.
The staff….
We have zero faults with any staff we came into contact with, all very polite and extremely helpful which made our stay even better.
All in all we’re very happy and we’re already planning to book again for next year, for such a small holiday park it’s got everything you need onsite to keep adults and kids happy. Big thumbs up from us 👍🏻
We’ve just booked to come and stay for 2 weeks, see you again in July 💕
Nice and quiet park.
Kids have soft play to use.
No entertainment making parents stressed buying expensive items.
Nice park area for kids. .beach isn't close for walking so will need a car
Brilliant location, good staff. Only problems were we ordered there biggest accommodation and we had a 16 week old baby so the double bedroom was far to small and had a smell of dogs which my wife was allergic too, so she stayed in the living room with a travel cot and I slept in the master with thrust of the family in the other rooms. Overall good but upset about the size and put smell. I would go again when baby is bigger, but would emphasise the pet free bit.
