Empowered Women Book Club Autumn Programming
Starting with Tap Dancing on Everest on October 8!
Dear Friends,
Summer has been a period of warm expansiveness, and as the cooler days set in, I hope to carry that spirit into fall.
Reading other women’s stories broadens my thinking, and I am so excited about the amazing authors joining the Empowered Women Book Club this season.
Their personal stories are varied and far-reaching—from joining a risky Everest expedition as a young medical officer to surviving cults in both childhood and new adulthood to rediscovering one’s identity as a marriage unravels. Each bold memoir invites us to question societal expectations and consider what makes an empowered woman.
Our open, questioning, and supportive international group will meet on the first Wednesday of October, November and December at 1 or 2pm EST (6 or 7pm UK time). I’d love to see you there!

October 8: Tap Dancing on Everest with author Mimi Zieman
From the gritty streets of New York City, where she grew up as the daughter of immigrants and a Holocaust survivor, to the exhilarating freedom of the mountains; from studying medicine to practicing it as a young medical student on a risky Everest expedition, Mimi Zieman takes us on a deeply engaging journey of daring and self-discovery.
“At once riveting and reflective,” her memoir will make you think about the choices you’ve made—or could make—amid the constraints of your life.
A beautiful, thoughtful read not to be missed!
We’ll meet for our discussion on Wednesday, October 8 at 1pm EST/6pm UK time.

I'm so excited for these book club meetups and to share my book with readers! Thanks so much for including me, Joelle!
