Favorite songs

A while back, I decided to go through my music collection and make a playlist of my top ten favorite songs, with only one song from each artist.

These are the songs I decided were my absolute favorites at the time I made the list. Some of them could be replaced with other songs, likely by the same artist. Odds are that if I made the list today, it'd be similar.

Because I feel like it, I'm sharing them with the world. (Or at least the small subset that reads my LJ.)

In no particular order:

Savatage - When the Crowds Are Gone

Dio - Rainbow in the Dark

There was a music video, but I couldn't find it on YouTube.

(But I did find Ronnie James Dio's cover of Dream On.)

Tom Waits - Hold On

Black Sabbath - Paranoid

The Beatles - Rain

Garbage - Fix Me Now

Killing Joke - Pandemonium

(There was a video, but I could only find a somewhat crappy copy.)

The Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter

Suicidal Tendencies - How Will I Laugh Tomorrow

Iron Maiden - Powerslave

(OK, so I couldn't manage to trim it down to 10.)

The White Stripes - The Denial Twist

(Could easily have been a different song.)

The Who - Behind Blue Eyes

Metallica - Welcome Home (Sanitarium)

Queen and David Bowie - Under Pressure

(If I hadn't counted this as the Queen song, this would probably be on the list.

The New Pornographers - All the Old Showstoppers

(Couldn't find the studio version on YouTube. This was the best live version I found.)

Savatage - Chance

(I didn't manage to stick to one song per band, either. Here's a live version by Trans-Siberian Orchestra and we can pretend I did. :)
