I've been going through the moodtheme posts, and discovered that a lot of the files have been deleted so I'm going to make an archive post with updated links. Like I stated with the last moodtheme I made I will no longer be hosting the images on my photobucket. If I disappear again, I want you guys to be able to use them without having to wait for me to come back and update everything, that way you can use them at your leisure.

Hey guys,
I'm sorry for so many updates but I just realized that my Britney Spears animated mood theme and the N Sync and Britney animated mood theme files were deleted from my box.net account. I'm not quite sure how that happened, but I can't get them back so if you guys want to use them I suggest using the alternative instructions posted because those mood themes are still uploaded on my photobucket so those files in the text box should still be good, but I will work on getting gifs back and uploading them into a .zip again but it is going to take a while, so please be patient with me.

Well, school time has finally arrived, unfortunately. And although I said I had all these huge plans for this place this summer that clearly didn't turn out. But as usual, my time here will be very few and far between for the next 8ish months. Hopefully, I can slowly work on some mood themes and layouts and try to get them done but I can't make any promises. As far as layout help goes, you can leave your comments in the FAQ as usual, and I will try to answer them quickly, but I suggest other communities such as mintyhelp & tutorialayouts (There is a larger list in the FAQ) to try to answer your layout questions in my absence.

Top 5 Layouts of 2010

I planned to do this months ago, and while cleaning out my computer I found the half-done post I was planning on making back in January, so here it is...

01. Immortality (Forever Young)
	LIVE PREVIEW \| DOWNLOAD This is by far my most favorite of all my layouts. I know its a very blah color scheme, but I think that works perfectly with the overall theme of the layout. I was of course listening to the song (I had just discovered Jay-Z's version) so I definitely was inspired by the song. And there is just something about this layout that screams, I wanna live forever.

02. Treaty of 1918
	LIVE PREVIEW \| DOWNLOAD I'm not sure where the idea came from for the "striped" navigation but it just popped into my head one day, and usually when I come up with an idea (one that works, of course) I'm pretty hell-bent on making it happen. I remember it took me forever to figure out how to separate the links, which now of course is an easy task, but when its not something you've ever known how to do it can be pretty tricky. Despite the several problems I had with this layout, I love it to death. I especially love the yellow, its not one of my favorite colors but I can't see any other color working as well with this layout other than that yellow. My plan is to revamp it one day so it has a lot less issues than it did originally.

03. White Demon
	LIVE PREVIEW \| DOWNLOAD Once again, I know it's a blah color scheme, but I just absolutely love it. I think I was going through a gray phase last year. I remember not really wanting to have a sidebar, but I had gotten a lot of suggestions about adding more sidebars in my layouts. I like this because everything is in the sidebar, usually I end up having to take things out because a huge sidebar looks terrible, but this layout works well with the full sidebar.

04. Space Odyssey
	LIVE PREVIEW \| DOWNLOAD What's not to love about this layout. I love the background, and the transparency of the entries. I think that's a really neat effect. I wish, however, that I would have come up with more of a creative idea for the navigation links. They're just kind of free-standing, which is representative of space given the whole zero gravity thing, but I still feel like I could have done something more with them. Maybe I'll go back and try to figure out how to make it a little better, one day.

05. Bookface
	LIVE PREVIEW \| DOWNLOAD Seriously, how could you not love this layout? Well, probably because it no longer looks like Facebook, but that's not my fault. Back in April of last year, thats what Facebook looked like. Its funny to think how much that site has changed in only a year. I think I had just watched the Halloween episode of The Office when Jim goes as Facebook, and was using Facebook and thought, "I wonder if I could make a layout that looks just like it!" It actually wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be, but I think it was the layout that I realized I have a pretty good knack for layout making. I turned Facebook into an lj layout and the fact that it was a pretty original idea (on lj anyway, haha) is kind of what made it even better. Sadly, no one would probably believe this is a facebook inspired layout anymore, but I guess that just means I'll have to make another ;)

I was going through some old posts at mintyapple to see if there were any new comments on my layouts about issues/problems with them and i noticed that almost every other comment was "saving to mems!" which made me think, how many layouts users have saved to mems, and if they ever go back and check their mems to use one of their saved layouts, or if they ever even remember they saved them and just end up getting more recent ones. basically, i was just curious. i actually don't have any layouts saved to mems, and i very rarely change my layout. how many times would you say you change your layout, per month?

This is for those of you who have iPhones, or those of you that understand that frustration that is auto-correct, which I've found to only really be useful when you are drunk. I have this theory that Apple is just screwing with all their iPhone customers. Can't you just see Steve Jobs and all his little buddies getting a kick out of changing normal words to things that are either super inappropriate or just down right stupid. Nonetheless it does make for one hilarious conversation.

A Few Things...

Sorry, this is going to be another text post, I know :(
Anyway, I have a few announcements.
First off, I promise that I'm working on that Paramore mood theme, as well as a new layout. My internet/phone provider recently got changed to some new company, and of course that meant screwing with everything, so my internet has been a bit on the janky side lately.

Secondly, how do you guys feel about me making screencaps?. I don't mind making them, but I want to know that they are actually being used because obviously, there would be no point in me making them if no one is using them. And by no one, I mean less than 10 people.

Thirdly, I got accepted as an 'elite' maker at stylesheet, so I will be posting there in addition, to here. I've been thinking about cutting down my posts at mintyapple a bit, just because you have to post the entire entry there, and I have a hard time keeping track of everyone's questions that they post in the entry. And if I see them, I don't see them for months before I respond, and chances are they've already installed a different layout, so I'm anticipating eliminating those posts, but that won't affect you all because you all watch this comm.

I don't even make graphics anymore, as many of you know but baack when I did I apparently made some textures. I rediscovered my deviantart account that I haven't used in years, but I just thought I'd post these 2 texture sets I made way back when in case anyone might want to use them.

In more update news, I recently updated the resource list because I'm working a new community layout that I'm really excited about. Hopefully it will be up soon, but I have 2 finals on monday that i should be studying for so during "study breaks" i'll be working on the new layout. I've also got a new layout to share in the works but that probably won't get put up until later next week. This is my last week of school, so hopefully in about a week or so I'll be able to start updating more regularly.

I'm sure I've updated the music folder recently too. I can't really remember but people are constantly downloading files from it so its obviously making some people happy. Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekends!

Also, for you graphic makers out there, check out this website. I actually just downloaded a bunch of her textures that I might use in the new community layout, but she has a lot of great textures, and brushes and what not there so I would take advantage of that. Her work is really good.

mood theme mania!

I've been having a hankering to start making graphics again, but I know it won't last long so I'm not even gonna bother starting it up. What I would like to do, however, is continuing making ~~my world famous~~ animated music video mood themes. Obviously, this will start with finishing the Paramore mood theme, but I was interested in re-doing the Britney mood theme, not because its terrible (because let's face it, its fucking amazing, not to toot my own horn or anything but its probably the best thing I've ever made), but maybe doing like a 'favorite music video' version, where you guys vote for your fave videos and then I will make a mood theme consisting of only those music videos. IDK, its just a thought. I love the Till the World Ends music video, and really wish that I could include it in the mood theme, so that's partially why I wanted to do it, but I don't wanna start from scratch with a mood theme just because its so time consuming. Thoughts? Comments?
