01:08 am - tmagr - eclipse help

I'm pretty new to Eclipse. I had everything set up correctly. But something has happened such that none of my projects will print any of the content in System.out.println(). I've tried several in several projects, and I have run the debugger. The debugger shows correct information. I have the Console View open. Nothing is printing to it anymore, ever.

Please, does anyone have a clue?

04:39 pm - banana - People who accept meaninglessness are better hackers

Beware, newbies! Programming aptitude is hard to predict. For example, you might think IQ would be a reasonable indicator, but (apparently) not.
Formal logical proofs, and therefore programs – formal logical proofs that particular computations are possible, expressed in a formal system called a programming language – are utterly meaningless. To write a computer program you have to come to terms with this, to accept that whatever you might want the program to mean, the machine will blindly follow its meaningless rules and come to some meaningless conclusion.

Interesting idea.

...the moderately successful [at applying arbitrary meaningless rules] perhaps are the software engineers, those who can program but can’t imagine that they will ever enjoy it, and are content to submit to management discipline and to be drowned in UML (ugh!).
Amusing prejudice. 8~)
