Sorry I've Been Away....
Hi folks, Just letting all y'all know I'm still alive. Hey, it's baseball season, God would NEVER let anything permanently bad happen to me during BASEBALL season! :) Anyway, Jasper is well, the Kitty King of Mirkwood is well, I am well, and the Red Sox are doing pretty well. Hi folks, Thanks for all the wonderful good thoughts, prayers, etc.--Jasper is MUCH better this morning, and in fact by the time I got home he was awake, on his feet, and lipping hay. :) This is VERY good. I Never Call, I Never Write...
and I do apologize for making anyone worry. Basically I am alive and reasonably healthy, the medical situation seems under control, and seasonal emotional rollercoasters are leaving the station every frickin minute. *sigh* But there is goodness. I bought a house, I still have Jasper, I have re-learned how much I hate loneliness, and I am a wreck at the moment, but it will pass. Always does. Nothing to worry about. Yes, I am writing again. Soon. Sooooooon.... Other than that, it is pretty much same-old, same-old. Does anyone know why every time I type an apostrophe, this stupid window brings up a quick search--and if I accidentally hit the wrong key it goes elsewhere and wipes out my post?? Job Stuff and Matcha Latte Grumping :)
First off, a bit of news: I *did* in fact get a job, have already started, like the people and the work, and yes, I have already pulled my first multiple-all-nighter. Proposal work is like that. So, job good.... (I hope.... *grin*) Secondly: I made an annoying (though admittedly minor!) discovery today. And I am begging for recipe assistance. Interested? A Soul Goes Home...
My heart hurts to have to bring you the news that my dear friend R. left this mortal life today a little before 2 PM. His partner S. and S.'s parents were with him at the time. We don't have a lot of details yet, but I am certain it was a gentle, peaceful passing--and Heaven will have a stupendous talent at the organ for church tomorrow morning. I beg you of your mercy to say a prayer for R.'s soul, free of its pain and toil; for S., who now must move on through his grief, and for all those of us who loved R so very dearly. Thank you so much for all the prayers that have supported R. and S. through the holiness of these past days. I make bold to beg that you will continue them for a little longer... Went Well...
Hi y'all, I'm back from the interview! I think it went about as well as these things go; the job is well within my skills, and I hope to God they're as needful as they sounded and make me an offer soon. Like, oh, by Friday with a start date of Monday.... ;) Thanks for all the good thoughts! I went and checked on the mare on the way home, at the request of the owner; she's lost a lot of weight and her baby is getting feisty over being cooped up, but Mama's appetite seems to be perking up so we're making sure she has lots of food options available--and water, lots of water. Please continue the good thoughts, if you've a mind to... :) Weather is... better. Still rather hot, but nothing like the back-breaking crap we had over the last week. Another G-D@mned Stormy Night...
...and we actually had a power outage. *waits a moment, then grins* Of course that bit is over now... Anyway, I'm shamelessly pimpin' for prayers, good thoughts, etc. In the ongoing search for a frickin' job, the Nice Company I Wanna Work For (that Also Wants Me) can't hire me yet because the Butthats they won their contract from (an Acronym phone company branching out into the consulting market) have decided to do the Senseless 100-Day Protest Tango (which of course only ticks off the client and garners the protester NOTHING.... but I digress in my righteous indignation...) and thus the job they desperately want me for won't be available until August. Severance runs out at the end of July... :( So, I have an interview tomorrow, the 11th, with another nice company in this area--and I guess I really need to get it, because I don't see any signs that the gods are handing out lottery wins. *wry smile* Just thunder storms... guess I need to have a chat with Hodur and ask him to glare at Thor or something... (Is this ramble making ANY sense??) The interview is at 11:)) AM eastern US time... so if you have a spare good thought, please send it my way! Thankfully the heat wave appears to be broken now; we have a mare down with laminitis who is not well in this heat, and her baby is not well right alongside her.
