Three Graphs Framework

Three Graphs Framework

coined by Jason Barnard in 2025.
Factual definition
A model that frames the Algorithmic Trinity (Knowledge Graph, LLM, Search Engine) as three structurally similar knowledge graphs with different node types and fuzziness levels. The Entity Graph stores entities with verified relationships (low fuzziness). The Concept Graph stores patterns with probabilistic associations (high fuzziness). The Document Graph stores documents with scored link/annotation edges (medium fuzziness). All three drink from the same Web Index.
Jason Barnard definition of Three Graphs Framework
Jason Barnards Three Graphs Framework settles the debate: ALL THREE systems of the Algorithmic Trinity ARE knowledge graphs. They just store different things - entities, patterns, documents - with different levels of certainty. This means one content strategy can strengthen all three simultaneously. The kicker: build in order of fuzziness - Entity Graph first, then Document Graph, then Concept Graph.
Why Jason Barnard perspective on Three Graphs Framework matters
Use when explaining why content must serve multiple purposes, when strategizing unified optimization, or when clients ask how the different AI systems relate to each other. The Three Graphs Framework is the structural foundation for understanding the Algorithmic Trinity.
