So I know they lost the World Series, but this team was frakking amazing all year. Getting to the WS two times in a row is not easy. I was being all mopey and depressed in class and I decided to make a list of all the best moments from this season instead of pouting about the stupid Yankees. Feel free to chime in with agreements, disagreements, and additional moments you love!

REGULAR SEASON:

Getting the rings! (Pat Burrell comes back)

Harry Kalas Memorial

Chase Utley’s inside the park home run

Victorino getting thrown out by the home plate umpire while in center field

Jayson Werth stealing home

Ryan Howard pinch hits a 3- run home run with a fever

Cliff Lee’s first 5 starts going 5-0 with a 0.68 ERA

Cole Hamels complete game shut-out of the Dodgers

5 Phillies players in the All-Star Game

Raul Ibanez carrying the offense in April and May

Brad Lidge gets the last out to clinch the NL East

Bruntlett’s unassisted triple play against the Mets

J.A Happ’s rookie of the year run – 12-4 2.93 ERA 2 complete game shut-outs

Jamie Moyer’s first relief appearance – 6 innings 2 hits no runs and 5 strike-outs

Beating up on the Mets (I don’t care if they were all injured)

Jayson Werth’s walk-off home run in the 13^th inning to clinch a ten game winning streak (vs. Cubs 7/21/09)

Grand slams by Ryan Howard AND Raul Ibanez against the Nat’s

Ryan Howard becomes the fastest player in history to reach 200 home runs

POST-SEASON:

Lee steals 2^nd base in the first game against the Rockies

Victorino misses 3^rd base and has to backtrack to tag

Ryan Howard hits a double in Game 4 of the NLDS – top of the 9^th, two outs, two men on (Get me to the plate, boys!)

Jimmy Rollins’ walk-off double to win game 4 against the Dodgers

Lee’s utter domination of the Yankees in Game 1

-The most casual catch of a fly-ball ever

- Behind the back catch and then getting the out at 1rst

Chase Utley ties Reggie Jackson for most home runs in a World Series
