I won't forget you for a long time...

Well, it certainly was an aptly titled episode, I thought.

Before I post my thoughts, I'm just going to say that when the idea of the re-imagining was announced, I was one of those that was so very violently ANTI-IT, a la Richard Hatch one might say, that I categorically refused to read and watch anything having to do with it. All the way until just before the premiere of S2, when they marathoned it a few weeks on Space, and I was bored one night and watched the mini for total lack of anything else on TV on a Saturday night.

Six mercy-killing the baby totally hooked me. Like whoa. And the view of the nuclear explosions from space. And poundy drums. And silences.

PILOTS! only came later. Much later. Because I was all about the show as a whole, and unwilling to go to (at least where it seemed in the first few episodes was going) down the obvious Starbuck/Apollo road, which then didn't happen, which ONLY THEN MADE ME OMG WANT to go there AND GO THERE NOW at the end of S1. Also, it helped that Apollo/Jamie Bamber became my favourite character. I so verra desperately didn't want to 'ship, because my previous ships ruined my enjoyment of other shows for me, but there it was.

And on to the episode!

I actually really liked it. Well, maybe 'really' is a little too strong, but I did like it.

Firstly, in my book, when a show ends, I do like to have resolution, and not "OMG WHAT IF?". So, yes, my show gave me resolution.

Did the resolution make total sense? Well, considering there's always been some handwaving going on, if I lived with it in the past, I have to resolve to living with it now, because I don't believe in holding any one single episode to a higher standard than every other episode. (i.e. Did it really make sense that they were going to let all the ships fly off and be destroyed, and they weren't going to salvage what they could? Well, counter that with the brand new boxes with brand new labels that Adama packed away his possessions in last week... like they had unlimited supplied of paper and crap lying around for years. See what I mean?)

So the show did give us resolution, and many people got their just desserts, good and bad. Like Tory, who callously killed Cally. Helo for loving Sharon from S1. Racetrack. Romo. Tigh, who proved to be a great stand-up guy. Zarek, even though that was several episodes back. Baltar and Six (how the show got me to like them shows you how much I liked the show). Laura, who died and was perhaps reunited with her family.

Yes, Adama was a shitty father. Lee said it right at the end. His strongest memory is of his father flying off in a plane. Yes, show, Adama has always been a crappy dad.

And Kara and Lee. Would I have preferred for Pilots to walk off into the sunset? Of course, I had hoped. However, in my head, the show has always kind of presented them as the star-crossed lovers, and after the setup last week with the baby pilots flashback scenes, I was convinced that we were not going to get a happily ever after ending since the show was now confirming that they've always been stuck on each other somehow. I was sure one of them was going to die in the other's arms, or some such. When they met back up on the baseship during the assault, I began to think my instincts were wrong, and I had renewed hope when they made it to realEarth (even though they didn't immediately show Lee in CIC and I worried for 3 seconds that he had been shot dead). But when they were talking in the tall grasses and the camera zoomed Kara out ofthe shot as Lee was talking about climbing mountains, I started to mumble, "no, no, no..." which turned into a shout of "NO!" when he turned around and she was gone.

And yes, I teared up. Because in the same moment that Lee got his bright, shiny future, he lost his father AND the great love of his life.

RDM said, "All I know is that today there is a show called Battlestar Galactica and tomorrow there was."

I do want to cry, because it is truly over.

Goodbye, show. I will remember you.

[BSG] Daybreak p.1

A.K.A. 1/3 of the last episode.

I have but 4 things to say:

(Actually, I have a lot more, but these are the things that jumped out of the screen out at me. I'm going to rewatch shortly and carefully listen without shouting at the screen this time around.)

OMG PILOTS FIRST MEETING EXACTLY like half a million fan fics out there with Lee and Kara all nervous and twitchy and HOTLY LOOKING AT EACH OTHER, including Zak all "don't steal this girlfriend, brother" because he so knows.
Callback to season 1 by Gaius to Lee being all jealous about Captain Thrace.
Lee being the FIRST to volunteer to help Daddy and Kara.
And the thing with Laura and her family, awwwwwwwwww.

The first 20 mins or so (the initial flashbacks) went back without any commercials, and then the last 35 mins had commericals every 6 minutes, it seemed. I have no clue (DON'T SPOIL ME!) where this is actually really going to end. But PILOTS! are back in uniform (hey, handwaving to how easily Lee tossed the presidency aside... who's going to look at for the rest of humanity that didn't volunteer? WHO CARES, LEE IS BACK IN UNIFORM NEXT TO KARA AND DADDY) and planning strategies!

I'm verra excited for next week, yet sad and unwilling for it to be over, yet.

One more thing to say:

As if I'm going anywhere with 5 hours left...

I have one little pet peeve about this episode, and it's pretty much the only thing I didn't like about it. Okay, it's a big pet peeve, but I'll try to hand wave around it: I'm a big proponent of "don't TELL me, SHOW me" when it comes to visual entertainment like TV shows or movies. (Though movies, by virtue of only having so much time to sell their story, usually are more plot/action driven, and don't have characters standing around telling the whole story because snooze... in serial tv, in my opinion, you have a greater opportunity to see that device used as a crutch).

Anyhow.

I'm all for wanting to know WHY the cylons are the way they are, and to get all my questions answered, etc... and G-d knows, I personally can't think of a different way right this moment for the show to have explained all that (otherwise I could be a writer/director!), however, it felt like an entire episode of "they couldn't show me, so they told me instead" and I disliked it. (I didn't dislike the episode per se, I didn't appreciate how they decided to go about presenting the episode to us.) We had two storytellers - Ellen and Sam - each laying out most of the answers to the big WHYs of the past 3.5 seasons, and it kind of felt like a bit of a cop out from my favourite show. I hope the last 5 episodes are SHOW me, and not TELL me.

Now, onto some quick thoughts:

New intro! A mini summary of how we got to this point. Flashbacks to the mini. And centurions. And Six walking in the marketplace immediately after mercy killing the baby. There was a nuclear holocaust!
Not enough Lee. I'm in Lee withdrawl. Must have more Lee. Would prefer more Apollo, but that's a whole other thing.
Nice to know Laura thought Lee was the right person all along (sarcasm puddle at my feet). She sure showed him how much when he was forced to help give Baltar a fair trial; whenever he disagreed with her. Mom basically giving him the 'buck up now, son, you can do it' speech before she send him off into the real world. You know, one of the reasons Lee/Apollo is my favourite character is because he is the right guy, and not just to be a President. He's been the CAG. He's been a Commander. He's been a de facto lawyer. He loves with his whole heart. He has a strong sense of morality and honour. He could take over from either of Laura or Adama and lead the fleet.
Kate Vernon looked great.
Euwwwwwwwww x 100000: Ellen created Cavill in her father's image. Which Cavill was cognizant of, and let her screw him on New Caprica. EUW EUW EUW EUW EUW
I guess we get to see Tigh caught between Ellen and CapricaSix. How can they possibly have enough time to go there with only 5 hours left? (DON'T SPOIL ME)
And Boomer is going back to the Galactica with Ellen! The Boomer that loved Tyrol, and that shot Adama. That's going to be some family reunion. What do you know... Tyrol is alone right now. ;-> And I don't see him and Tory together. Yech. Tory and Sam were kinda nasty hot.
Sam saying there were 8 cylon children created. And we find out about the Daniels. Hmm.. will we get to meet the Daniels?

Harsh, Ishay. What a beeyotch.

The "I'm a PC" guy was there. Kinda distracting, but kinds funny.
So they final five are "good cylons". And Cavill, the sadist, the first child, the-pseduo-evil-seed, seems to be the one who poisoned the minds and shaped the other children into the plan to annihilate humanity out of a warped sense of justice and revenge.
Not enough Lee. No pilots. :'-( On the other hand, I didn't see anything to get worked up over the alternaship. We know Kara cares about Sam. And yes, technically, they are married. But I didn't hear grand protestations of love (if "you owe me for standing up for you on the Demetrius" is the best you can do? LMAO) I think Sam is more focused on being a cylon right now, and Kara is trying to figure out what exactly she is.

This is an episode I definitely have to rewatch. Only 5 hours left. ::sniff::

[BSG] Blood on the Scales

a.k.a. Adama gets his ship back.

Well, there was so much going on in this episode, I was almost overwhelmed and have to totally rewatch. Also, the dh watched with me for the first time in 2 years and asked questions every 2 minutes, "Who's a cylon now?" "Why is Adama under arrest?" "Who the heck is Romo?" (when Romo showed up, I had said, "Romo!"). OTOH, he totally remembered Kelly, and Helo being with Sharon.

Zarek shot the whole quorum! Didn't see that coming.

I still don't think the mutineers were absolutely wrong, and Narcho (the jackass!) got to be the flip side of Lee's comment last week. Oh show. You make everything in 1000 shades of grey.

My absolute favourite, favourite scene of the episode was Kara totally headslamming the guy while he was peeing, casually catching his gun belt while he dropped like a stone to the floor, and wordlessly handing it off to Lee who was standing with his hand out, waiting. SO PERFECT. And then almost - but not quite - outdone by the continutaion of that Pilots! scene with Lee perfectly plotting the takeout of the Marine guard, pilots shooting marvelously and perfectly in sync, and totally teasing Kara about the grenade fakeout. LMAO and an AWESOME illustration of our Pilots! characterizations over the run of the show: Kara's answer to everything is almost impulsive brute force and power; Lee's solutions are more thought out, and hinge on plotting and accuracy.

Must have more Pilots!

Oh, and Sam gets shot. Well, if he dies then both Lee and Kara no longer have spouses. La la la la la. Just saying... (DON'T SPOIL ME)

Oh, and Tricia Helfer is absolutely stunning as any version of Six other than the platinum Caprica type.

Oh, and Tyrol discovers his beloved ship is really falling apart (cool engine room shots, by the way. Reminded me of similar shots of the Titanic (James Cameron movie version) engine room. Who wants to bet 100$ that now that the FTL is offline and the ship is damaged, that this is the perfect time for Cavill & Co to jump back into the fray with a battle?

I won't miss Gaeta (someone please tell me why - I asked this 2 years back and don't think I ever got an answer - that Gaeta wears pilot wings on his uniform? He was never a pilot.) but I will miss Zarek. Oh Tom. Bastille Day and Kobol. Ah well.

Can I just say WOW now, before I get to the quick and random? Like WOW, it was that kind of episode, and I have no frakking clue where I fall in the whole "do we/do we not" align ourselves with the cylons. I think I'm probably like Lee (naturally): I don't like it, I don't want it, but I am so far to the end of the line I don't see any other choice. Having said that, I was still on the edge of my seat the whole show. (DON'T SPOIL ME, PLEASE)

The quick and random:

PILOTS! Hot pilots! That could only have been made hotter if the Bamceps had come out to play. Hey, Kara got to wear tanks...
PILOTS! kissing! ("Yay!" screams the K/L shippers, "it was our turn this week." "Oh I don't think so," rejoin the A/R shippers, "Look what WE got this week, too!")
I think Lee had a moment to trim his hair slightly since last week. He could do with a bit more off.
Lee got sprayed with blood and brain bits. And stayed splattered the whiole show. And still looked hot. Kara got to rescue her fair damsel in distress. Kind of like that Princess Bride BSG crack!fic*** from so long ago. LOL
Oh, Racetrack. You're going to go up against Apollo? (And that also clearly irked Lee, when he commented that he'd flown with her. Pilots and their code of honour...)
Oh, Seelix. Confirming the unrequited love for Anders.
Oh, Hoshi. Your man didn't even give you a tiny heads up.
Oh, Gaeta. Gaeta. Gaeta... I know you had a bad lesson with a Boomer in a Raptor, and this follows your verra bad lessons first hand on New Caprica, but going up so publicly against the Old Man? And theoretically against the alliance baseship? It may be damaged, but it still holds thousands of cylons and raiders and nukes. There's no way this ends well for Gaeta.
Oh, Baltar. I want to hate him. I always want to hate him. But then he goes and pulls out something out of his ass that makes him just a teeny tiny bit redeemable. ALWAYS. Not only is James Callis incredible, but the writers have done an incredible job of presenting it just that way.
Have I said how hot PILOTS! are together and how they still tag team each other so instinctively?
I would've liked to see the bit that happened offscreen when Kara and Adama went at it for a split second when she tried to shoot the Marine Adama let go. Also, I liked how Adama and Lee immediately went in for an Adama hug. Dad and son have come a long way since the mini. It was nice to see that even though Zarek was pushing Lee's buttons, he didn't automatically believe what Zarek was insinuating.
The A/R farewell kiss that went on forever... too frakking funny how the kids did not know where to put themselves while Mom and Dad made out. LOL The cute look that Lee gave Kara before they both looked away and anywhere but there. hahaha Speaking of that farewell, it made me think that that is indeed going to be the last time Adama sees Roslin until perhaps one of them is on their deathbed. Oy. (DON'T SPOIL ME)
We got to say hello to so many old faces: Laird, Connor, Seelix, Racetrack, Narcho. I'm so happy that Cally is dead because otherwise she would have been right up there with the mutineers. (It is a mutiny. Again. There's a lot of mutinying (?) going on during the 4.5 seasons so far.

7 hours left and I'm wondering where the hell we are going to be in 7 hours. (DON'T SPOIL ME) I certainly have some predictions (read: worries). I really feel that one of Mom or Dad is going to die. I know we're supposed to think it's Mom. We've already seen her premonition, however, I'm thinking it's going to be Dad.

I'm excited to see what everyone else thought. Can't wait to read through the flist!

A Disquiet Follows My Soul a.k.a. the one that made the A/R shippers go into a collection swoon.

Quick and random thoughts:

** I knew something was up when they showed ~~Mary~~ Laura's cleavage, and later on let her run around in a slim fitting yoga pants and hoodie tracksuit.

** Interesting how both Roslin and Adama have kind of given up. Both of the fleet's parents are "old and tired". Makes me wonder/think of the fan fic premise of Apollo and Starbuck as the new regime running things. That is, unless everything goes boom at the end. (DON'T SPOIL ME!)

** Wondered where Kara was until we got (thank goodness) a whole 3 minutes. A little bit of snarky Starbuck is back!

** I will forever and always miss Pilot!Lee. The suits do nothing for the Bamceps. In fact, it makes me wonder if they are in there at all. I think it's high time for the little teeny towel of destiny to come out. Oh, and the hair.

** The whole Tyrol-isn't-really-Nicky's-father seemed very soap opera-ish to me. Like when they retcon a character out of the blue in order to ~~force~~ make a plot point. Hot Dog's a dad! (So much for the Hot Dog/Kat or Hot Dog/Racetrack fics LOL And Cally was a lying ho.

** Tigh seems to have jumped into a relationship with Six. They were holding hands. Like wow. This is Caprica!Six. As in the one who set Gaius up. One of thise directly instrumental in killing 50 billion people. The one who had mercy on that baby in the marketplace and snapped its neck. She is going to have her own baby, and with Tigh, who is still trying desperately to be the correct and proper Executive Officer of the ship. I am really wondering how/when we are going to see Ellen get thrown into this mix. (DON'T SPOIL ME!)

** I missed Zarek, and I wish we could have seen more of himlast season, but yeah, there's only so many minutes to go around, and there's already a pretty big cast. I miss him, but I really would prefer not to sit through another round of BSG human civil war with only 8 hours left of the show. We've done that already. OTOH, if it solidifies the fleet's decision on whether or not to align with the cylons, then fine.

** So now we have a civil war within the cylons,a nd a civil war wihtin the humans? Fun times.

** Do we have to see so much of Adama brushing his teeth? We've also done that in past episodes. Adama standing there with toothpaste mouth really isnt pretty.

** I miss Pilots!

I know, there's like 8 hours to go, and while this episode wasn't bad, it just seemed a little disjointed in my book. It was all setup and designed to advance the plots quickly. I know last week's episode was darker, but I just enjoyed the way the stories were told/presented better. I'm feeling kind of meh about it, and I'm looking forward to seeing what the flist has to say.

[BSG] Sometimes a Great Notion feels like an episode of LOST

Like seriously, and I had that feeling more than once, especially as Earth!Tyrol was strolling through the marketplace.

I know things were pretty dire when we last saw our show, but, geez, I feel like this one really loaded us up with another 20 lbs of gloom.

Some quick and random thoughts:

** There was so much Dee in the first 20 minutes, I thought for sure something was up (like maybe she was the cylon-to-be-revealed). And though I never hated her (as much as I hated the contrived Lee/Dee pairing), I disliked that she got to be the one to put Lee back on course in this episode, and I body-shuddered when I thought that Lee would be weak enough to go back down that road with her again. While I was shocked at her blowing her brains out, a good chunk of me cheered because now we don't have to endure Lee/Dee v2.0. Oh, and the jacks aren't a bit radioactive?

** Everyone - and I mean everyone - seems to have lost any hope of a future and moped around. Except Sharon and Helo - which was encouraging to see that the parents of a real child (vs Adama/Laura, the surrogate parents of 36,000+ children) continue to live life and play and joke.

** Are they ever going to run out of booze and etched octagonal glass bottles?

** Oh Kara. First you find out that you are really dead. And then you realize that you don't know what you are. And then Leoben - who has always professed to practically worship the ground you walk on - runs away from you in fear. And then you struggle alone in the dark to build yourself a funeral pyre, and literally hide the evidence of what you found out. And then you make the monumental decision to confide in Lee. (YAY!!!) But then you see how much he is suffering over the useless loss of his ex-wife, and you change your mind. So you are all in this alone. I hope you can work your courage back up to telling him next episode.

** Human/cylon alliance. Doesn't have a nice ring to it, and I don't think it's going to end well. (Don't spoil me!) Dum-de-dum-dum-DUMMMMMMM!

** Lee needs a hair cut.

** I'm really, really surprised at Adama. Yes, he fell apart when he found out about Tigh. And I don't think that was so much about Tigh, as much as it was a chain of events <u>culminating</u> in finding out about Tigh (skin to the final piece of straw breaking the camel's back). However, he's always been the strong one - and a strong parent to his fleet (except a lousy father to Lee) and for him to totally break again; whether it was because it took him months/years to believe in Laura and she broke, or because one of his favourite surrogate daughters blew her brains out, or whatever. He really disappointed me. His frakking ship is falling to pieces around him, and he is being a selfish bastard in attempting to play suicide-by-ex-best-friend-who-is-now-a-cylon.

** Am I surprised about Ellen being the 12th cylon? Well, I'm happy it's not Cally or Dee. It being Baltar would have explained how he survived the blast in the mini, though that would have been too neat and pat. Worried it might have ben Zak; which would have been alternately awesome and sucky. Never thought it would be Lee/Adama/Laura/Kara, so I was gratified that it was not. I had strongly wondered if it might be Cain.

** It will be interesting to see Tigh caught in the middle of his beloved wife and his pregnant lover. (Don't spoil me!) Though... upon reflection, he was frakking Six while hallucinating that she was Ellen. Was he hallucinating...?

** Did I mention Kara was going to be a grownup and was about to confide in Lee? :-D OH PILOTS

** Yes, show, thank you for having D'Anna remind us that all this has happened before and will happen again. All I needed to hear right about now - in the middle of one of the most depressing hours of BSG - was the hint that the series will end on a downer. (Don't spoil me!)

Oh, and I am confused. I don't mind being in the dark, show, but I don't want 9 episodes of LOST. Please. And I would like some flippy ships. I'm sure Cavil will arrive in due time... (Don't spoil me!)

Friday Night Lights - 3.13 - The end?

Oh, show.

** You kicked Coach, and kicked him down. That shot of him and Mrs. Coach at the end in the threadbare, dilapidated field. Duh, he's going to take it. The hardest thing to watch about the show was that. (Though in real life, there are surely a half dozen schools that wuld be banging in his door - he's taken his team to finals how many times in how many years? And he gave up a U job to do so. This man has marketability. I am shocked that not one person spoke for him at the meting. For shame, Buddy Garrity.)

** I heart Tim Riggins. From the beginning of S1, him and his heart on his sleeve for (ugh!) Lila. He's shown his true colours every time the chips are down. Amd Taylor Kitsch is marvelous with him. And the longhorn!

** Landry and Tyra: Yeah, I'm one of those people who liked them ALWAYS.

** Matt giving up his life/dreams for Grandma and (triple puke!) Julie. Oy Matt. You were always such a sucker. You just know Julie would be panting after some new guy within 2 months.

Oh, please don't let this be the end. I can live with how they wrapped up everything EXCEPT for Coach/Mrs. Coach. Noooooooooooooooo

[BSG] Podcasts!

So like YAY because 3 podcasts for 4.08, 4.11 and 4.12 suddenly appeared on my iTunes, however, I'm 20 min in on 4.08 (Faith) and I'm pulling my hair out because the sound quality is awful. Seriously horrible.

Well.

Well.

So this was one episode that I wished had no commercials whatsoever for the first 50 or so minutes because it was bang bang bang go go go with the story and the tension and the OMGs. Until the knockout punch of them standing on a post-nuclear holocaust Earth. More on THAT one later.

Quick thoughts because my brain is on hyperdrive and needs time to process the last 20 minutes of the show:

*** A huge squee of joy right off the start for the K/L shipper in me with the Kara/Lee bits right at the beginning and Kara telling him they'd walk the halls of the opera house, "together".

*** Tigh giving himself up, and then the other 2... didn't see that one coming at this moment in time. Hit me right between the eyes.

*** Adama getting waaaaaaaasted after Tigh gave himself up. One would think this is the culmination of a the fiery passion of all the slashy shippers out there. Tigh, of all people, is the one that throws Adama for the proverbial loop, more than Roslin, or Kara, or Lee.

*** Lee Apollo Adama is my hero. He's always been my favourite, and will always be my favourite. Though, I was all WTF when he proposed peace because 3 seconds ago he was all for ensuring the cylons did NOT get Earth, but heck, he trusts Kara. And then Roslin praising him, and falling into line was just love.

*** My only "oh Lee... must you?" moment was him almost getting Chippendaley on the CIC main board. Oh, and I know Jamie's a wee thing compared to Tahmoh, but I was worried he was going to knunck himself out on the Dradis console. LMAO First we have the green sweater, then the red shirt, and now we have the striptease in CIC. Tongues will be wagging... ;->

*** Tyrol, Sam and Tigh all stayed on Galactica after the big handshake... and are all still in uniform. Hmmmm. They seem to still want to be with the humans. Tory, OTOH and her "I'm done taking orders from you" to Laura, more on THAT later.

*** The whole happy ending (or at least up until the last 3 minutes) had me saying, okay... so they have already found Earth. What's going to happen next year? They seem like they are playing the end of the series right now. Something HAS to happen. Well.

*** So we find ourselves on a post-nuclear holocaust Earth, which reminds me that THAT'S the way I always thought the colonies i.e. Caprica would look instead of the standing but empty cities we saw back in S1 and S2.

*** The look on Kara's face above everyone else's was total and utter desolation. This is clearly NOT the Earth she saw. So what DID she see, and where/when did she see it?

I don't know where the show is going from here, and spoiler-free me wants no part of knowing (seriously, my brain can't even conceive of how Rona nd David are going forward from this one), but I do know one thing: there will be conflict with cylons, because otherwise what would be the point and there'd be no tension. And Tory is going to be baaaaaaaaaad, because her very quick acceptance of the cylons, her smile of "yay, I'm here!", and her "I'm done taking orders from you" to Laura, all tell me she'd very happily throw the humans under a bus (oh, there you are, Callie!).

Can't wait to read everyone else's posts. And FIC, please! It's hiatus time, and what would a hiatus be like without some great K/L fic? Who knows when BSG will be back... Jan 2009? Mar 2009?

The love:

** Laura's deathbed - how awesome is it when Mom is dying, and Dad and the kids are heartbroken??!! A-W-E-S-O-M-E

** I'm not an Adama/Roslin 'shipper, but that ending of "I love you," "About time," was sweet.

** D'Anna brings back the snark to the ship

** Laura's absolutely horrified face when Baltar actually confesses his part in the destruction of the colonies

** Colonial warriors and Cylon pilots... who are the Jets and who are the Sharks?

** D'Anna snapping Cavil's neck like a twig

** D'Anna pulling Laura's leg LMAO

** Baltar getting a shiny, new harem? Literally? He's like a Pied Piper to 'people' who are lost.

** Have I mentioned K/L consoling each other at Laura's deathbed? How nice that Laura's sees herself surrounded by the people who 'love her' and includes Kara and Lee with Adama

Some of the handwaves:

** Big space battle, nukes abounding, and the viper pilots remain unscathed (except for Raptor junkie Pike). Kind of surprised that with all those baseships around, that there weren't scads more raiders attacking

** Helo and fake!Athena magically get in and out and in again awfully quickly

** Adama gets aboard awfully quickly and disembarks to an empty hanger (except for Laura)

** So the Cylon raiders fly themselves, but the heavy raiders have pilots? Pilots with never-seen-before uniforms.

** Was it me, or did I only see Sixes and Boomers as pilots? Where were all the Leobens?

Spec from spoiler-free me:

** As much as I think there was a hint (or red herring) last week with Gaeta as the possible final cylon, I still think it makes so much sense that it would be Baltar. I am absolutely convinced there is no way it can be Adama, Laura, Kara or Lee, and in order for it to have a major impact, logic dictates it would be someone major on the canvas at the moment. Though I am probably wrong.

I can't believe there's only one more episode, and then we have to once again settle in for a lonnnnnnng wait.

[BSG] Sine Qua Non

Liked it very much overall, though I had several WTF moments, the largest one being:

So Adama admits he has lost his objectivity and steps down because of it, and turns the reins of power over to COLONEL TIGH who he reamed out 5 minutes ago for betraying his trust and sleeping with the 'skinjob' (hello, implying Tigh has totally lost it, let alone HIS objectivity). Like WTFx1000???

(Yes, I'll handwave because Tigh the Cylon in command is a plot point to something - spoiler me gets THAT. Don't know why he gave him the Admiral's pips, though. He hasn't earned those. He should really be Commander Tigh.)

Oh, and:

Leland? (Wants to know why we've never heard Kara get the other pilots to tease him about that. LMAO)

President Apollo? At least his hair was better this week, I still miss Pilot God Apollo and I got all excited for about 5 seconds when Adama told him he was stepping down because I thought he was giving command over to Lee. Also, I'm going to have to go and hunt up all those old K/L fics that I've enjoyed where he's the Prez and she's the CAG. Or people can write some new ones... ;->

Why didn't Athena Sharon tell Adama that Laura (and Caprica) have been sharing her visions about Hera being taken?

Lee and Kara side by side, seeing Adama (Adama in a flightsuit! LOL) off, all stiff salutes and everything. And the look. Awww</div>
So happy I'm spoiler-free and have no idea where this is all going.

I have faith that one day we will see Lee Adama again. 2 weeks. It's not my BEE-ESS-GEE without LEE.

Other quick thoughts:

** When EJO smiles it's almost painful, as his face looks like it's going to crack into pieces, but he was so cute with MM. And Adama believes in Laura!

** Ouch, Gaeta.

** Sam is 100 times more interesting as a cylon.

** As interesting as the cylon civil war is (though IMO it doesn't rate quite as high as the Galactica stories), I don't trust the cylons (as a whole) making an alliance with the colonials. Don't know where that's going to go...

** "The children of the dying leader..." Hmmmm, so if Kara may be the dying leader??..
