my name is jackie luo. i'm building something new. i'm interested in how humans coordinate effort toward collective goals and how machine intelligence lifts the layer of abstraction at which we operate.

i think a lot about the widening gap between the information we produce and the meaning we're able to extract from it, emergent patterns in an increasingly liquid and dematerialized world, and shifting paradigms on the distribution and use of power. here are some of the topics on my mind lately—ping me if you ever want to talk through them together.

most recently i was the head of product engineering at zora. before that, i was the co-founder and ceo of [redacted], a creative project built on decentralized technologies. other roles i've had: product at driver's seat and engineering at square and nylas. once upon a time, i studied philosophy at columbia university.

i write at the dream machine (an erratically published newsletter with essays on technology, society, and identity) and scratchpad (a running log of disparate thoughts, ideas, and experiments). outside of that, i read a lot, host experimental gatherings, and cook. some past projects: irl society, the framework project, photography, ache magazine, milieu.
