Search for Full-text of a Known Article

If you need an article or book chapter, our OpenILL request form that will attempt to locate an available copy before sending the request to other libraries. It's a relatively new tool, so please let us know if it links you to the wrong article.

LibKey Nomad Browser Extension for Quick Full Text Access

LibKey Nomad is a browser extension that you install from the LibKey Nomad website. The extension will display a LibKey Nomad logo everywhere full-text is available through the library.

To install:

  1. Follow the LibKey Nomad instructions for Chrome, FireFox, Microsoft Edge, Safari, etc.)
  2. When selecting the organization, select “Indiana University School of Medicine.”
  3. Search for articles and look for the green LibKey Nomad logo!

Note: LibKey Nomad is somewhat pervasive once installed.

Once installed, the extension will display the following buttons everywhere full-text is available:

Finding the Full-Text of an Article

Step 1

  1. From a library database (https://iu.libguides.com/az.php), search for your topic. 
  2. Click the access options, or PDF, or HTML.
  3. If there is no full-text option (PDF or HTML), click "Find It" or "Find it @ IU Indianapolis."

Step 2

  1. "Find it" will open a new page. If we have the full-text in another database, you should see a link to either the article itself or the journal under "Links to Content."
  2. If there is no link to the article or the journal, click on the IU Indianapolis University Library InterLibrary Services link (or the link to your home library, IU School of Dentistry Library, Ruth Lilly Medical Library, Ruth Lilly Law Library) and submit a request.
  3. In about 24 hours to 3 days, you'll receive an email with a link to the full-text of the article.
