About
LAZOU
WRITER . PRODUCER . ARTIST . PODCASTER
LAZOU (Sherry-Lynn Lee) is a Sino-Mauritian-Canadian-American producer, writer and artist based near Los Angeles. Having grown up in Mauritius (home of the extinct Dodo bird), she is trilingual and writes songs in English, French, and Mauritian Creole.
Her music borrows pop sensibilities from various genres including soul, '90s grunge, early '00s emo and pop, and singer-songwriter.
She is also the creator of the podcast "Nuances: beyond first impressions with the Asian diaspora", which explores the relationship her guests have with their culture, and its intersection with LGBTQ+ rights, anti-racism, feminism, politics, religion, career choices, family dynamics, and more.
In a past career, LAZOU was a software engineer and data scientist in Silicon Valley.
