What do you MEAN, this took a long time??

Pictures from my trip to Europe. Not dial-up safe.
Let's start with Holland!

Amsterdam

They say that Amsterdam actually has more canals then Venice.

I tried to give people a little glimpse of the thousands of bikes in Amsterdam, but this picture doesn't even do it justice.

Den Helder

My brother lives in Den Helder (about an hour from Amsterdam), so I stopped in and got to hang out with him for a while. He showed me the boat he is building and the abandoned hospital that he's living in with his friends.

Tres Hombres is the name of my brother's boat. It's going to be used to ship teas and coffees. The hope is that people will pay a little extra for tea and coffee that has been shipped in a wooden boat without engines, therefore releasing nothing harmful into the environment.

Texel

Texel is the island that we stayed on while in the Netherlands. Ashley's sister lives and works here, so we stayed in her house for free, which saved us a lot more money then if we had stayed in a hostel in Amsterdam. Her house is in the little town of Den Hoorn.

Here I am standing in the North Sea! My first salt water experience, haha. It was too chilly to go swimming though.

Speaking of movies, I also looooooooved The Dark Knight. A lot. The Joker is my new favourite movie villian. ♥

Hmm, let's see, it's been a while...

The Bones finale was CRUEL.

The House finale was CRUEL.

The NCIS finale was CRUEL.

The Grey's Anatomy finale was DON'T KNOW because I really don't care about that show anymore.

My X-Files marathon has been side-tracked a little bit by NCIS. My sister and I are on season 4 of X-Files, which is pretty darn good considering we only started this marathon about a month ago. But I was flipping through the channels one night and happened to watch some of NCIS, and the rest, as they say, is history. This show is so damn addicting. It's like crack. There are no words for how much I love it. I saw season 4 on sale at the used DVD store, so I bought it and loved it to death. I bought season 1 last week (still amazing but I'm glad I watched season 4 first, it's better). I'm a little low on money so if seasons 2 and 3 don't show up at the used DVD store I don't know what I'm going to do. I need my Tony-McGee-Ziva fix. <3

Indiana Jones tonight, omg! I love Indyyyy. And I really, really hope there's an X-Files trailer in front of it, but I'm probably not that lucky.

So... Bones and House were amazing. Best episodes ever.

I don't even remember what happened in this episode. Something about singers? Zack sang, I know that, and he was pretty good. But all I can remember is BOOTH TAKING A BULLET FOR BONES. OMGGGGGGGGGGG. I didn't read any spoilers so it just came out of nowhere! One minute they are singing and dancing and laughing and having so much fun and then BAM BOOTH GOES DOWN. And then Bones catching him when he falls down and crying over him and hugging him and he was CLUTCHING HER HAND and my little shipper heart nearly died.
After this, there definitely better be some admittance of feelings and some kissing and maybe even some sexy times. KTHNX.

That bus crash scene? Was FLIPPIN' INTENSE! Poor House. And poor Amber! That looked like it hurt. I have to say I loooove the scene where House is fantasizing about Cuddy. And when Cuddy slept over at House's place, I was hoping for a little something something to happen between them, lmao. Aw my poor bb Wilson. The next episode looks like it's going to be full of angst for him.

Battlestar Galactica was good. I love Helo. <3 Though there needed to be more Adama and Roslin, and Six.

My sister and I have been re-watching X-Files season 1, and it's hilarious how many Stargate people I recognize. So far:

-Beyond The Sea = General Hammond
-Lazarus = Dr. Rothman (I loved him in Stargate... so hilarious)
-E.B.E. ... I think = What's-her-name from Prometheus Unbound who couldn't get rid of her hiccups.

MYTH-BUSTERS OMG

I had a horrible dream last night. My kitty, Spook, was climbing up a ladder for some reason, and the ladder fell. Spook fell and landed on all fours on a rope-string thing that was stretched between two trees, and then he jumped to the ground and ran behind the deck. When he came round to the other side of the deck, where I was standing, I could see he was limping, hopping along. As he came closer, I noticed that both of his right legs were split in two. The string had cut right though his legs when he landed on it and torn them in half. He started wailing in pain and collapsed at my feet, and I started panicking and I was so distressed I couldn't breathe and it felt like my chest was going to burst. That`s where the dream ended. I woke up in tears, trying hard not to cry. And even though I knew it was just a dream, I was so happy when I saw Spook this morning curled up on the bed, comfortable as could be. I`ve been cuddling with him all day, lol. I just can`t get the image out of my head of him screeching in agony and collapsing right in front of me. *shudders*

Let`s move on to something a little more pleasant...

Loooooooved this episode. I`ve hated the last few so this was such a breathe of fresh air. Some of my favourite moments include:

-Mac and Stella asking at the same time who found the body, and Flack commenting that they`ve worked together too long. And then Flack saying `Boom` and Mac commenting that Flack and Danny have been working together too long. And then Flack just gave a cute little smile and shrugged. The Mac/Stella friendship and the Danny/Flack friendship are the two best relationships on the show. I`m glad this episode paid a bit of homage to that fact.
-Hawkes geeking out over some chemical equation or something and then Danny going up to the chalkboard and writing N(e)R(d) on the end of the equation. Hawkes just glares at Danny and goes "That`s cold, man." Hilarious!
-Sid commenting about how he sometimes has the urge to swallow highly corrosive chemicals, and Mac mocking him, saying that he sometimes has the urge to perform living autopsies on himself. Lmao!

I noticed that Lindsay felt very much like an outsider in this episode. The only person she ever made any sort of connection with was Danny, and now that that is over, it`s obvious that, after how many seasons?, she still feels like an outsider at the lab and hasn`t really made any connections with anyone else. EVERYONE else in this episode was joking around with each other and teasing each other (even Adam and Sid), except for Lindsay. She just doesn`t feel like a part of the team.

OMG THE MYTHBUSTERS!!!!!!!!!!!
I HAD NO IDEA THE MYTHBUSTERS WERE GOING TO BE IN IT!!! I NEARLY FELL OFF THE COUCH WHEN I SAW THEM!!!!! SO SO SO HILARIOUS OMG A;KESFH;KAJHF;AKSFH IT KILLED ME.
THEY LOOKED SO THRILLED TO BE ON CSI, LMAOOOOOO. They were just standing around watching Buster getting experimented on. Giving the thumbs up. LOLOLOLOLOL I LOVE THEM.

Also, this episode had Hodges/Wendy!!

Hodges trying to be Mr. Smarty-Pants by showing off his knowledge of Star Trek, and Wendy completely shooting him down and blabbering on about Spock and her extensive knowledge of Star Trek...

Hodges: "You`re like a big geeky nerdy man stuck in a little girl`s body."
Wendy: "So are you."

Oh, SNAP!

Also, I love seeing so much Hodges, and Hodges out in the field. The nose knows.

Flist, I need your help. I can't decide whether or not to start watching Atlantis. I looove Rodney McKay, but I just get the feeling that it's nowhere near the greatness of SG-1. Can someone please recommend some really great McKay-centric episodes? Please and thank you. Maybe something with a lot of Sheppard-McKay interaction, because I think their relationship is cute.

That's really all I have to say right now. Nothing of interest going on in my life at the moment. I'm leaving for Europe on July 27th, which means that I will be here for X-Files, but I'm going to have to wait 2 weeks in order to see Continuum. I don't really mind all that much since I'm GOING TO EUROPE and all. Though I wish we could go across on a cruise ship or something. I've never flown before and I'm scared silly. :S

I finally finished The Time Travelers Wife. I took a break from it for a bit in order to read The Memory Keeper's Daughter, which is why it took me so long. Loved both books. Now I'm reading The Count of Monte Cristo. UNABRIDGED. At least I assume it's unabridged, because it's 1500 pages. Oi vey. It better be good.

I'm turning into a vegetarian. I haven't had meat in days. Though, now that I think about it, I might put on some hot dogs. Mmmmm.

Gary Dourdon is saying good-bye! Adios. Aloha. Arrivederci. The current season will be Warrick's last.

I'm definitely not a fan of Warrick, BUT I thought the Catherine/Warrick thingy was very cute, and was rooting for those two to get together. So I'm going to be a little sad to see him go, I guess. I suppose after 8 years, it shouldn't be surprising to see some of the original cast leave.

I'm hoping that this means the writers will give Nick and Greg bigger parts. Especially Greg. Lots more Greg. And more Hodges. And some more Hodges/Wendy, please.

-Lindsay is a childish idiot. All Danny did was suggest they rent Jaws and she storms off in a huff, leaving evidence out on it's own, while they are supposed to be on their best behaviour! It was extremely gratifying that the auditor caught it and called Lindsay out on her childish behaviour.
-Danny is smokin' hott.
-Reed is back, and apparently he has just graduated from college, landed a job with a New York City newspaper, AND has his own blog already. Highly unrealistic and unbelievable. He should be fetching coffee for the editors, ala Jimmy Olsen, not out reporting serial murders.
-Flack is smokin' hott.
-I missed Adam in this episode. He needs more screentime, please. Kthnx.

Speaking of Lord of the Rings, I have a new layout! A Lord of the Rings layout!! *SQUEELS* Damn I miss those movies. If I didn't have to work today, I would definitely be having a LotR marathon.

And I got accepted to all 3 Fleming College programs I applied to. Even though I've already done the College thing, I really don't think I want to take people's blood for the rest of my life. SO, I may go back for:

I'm going to miss CSI tonight because of work. And I'm going to miss Battlestar Galactica tomorrow. Darn it. And it looks really good. I also missed Bones and I'm going to miss Supernatural, Grey's Anatomy, and House. Somehow, I ended up working every single day one of my shows comes back. Oi vey.

I've been baaaaad today. I went to Belleville with my mum for a day of shopping at the Wal-Mart supercentre and the Quinte Mall. I didn't actually buy all that much, so it seems, but I spent well over $100. I bought:

-a pair of capri pants
-Stargate (the original movie)
-Little Miss Sunshine
-The Lost Battalion (FINALLY found it on DVD after years of searching)
-lunch
-dinner at Kelsey's for myself and dad, plus dessert

I'm excited to watch the Stargate movie. I've never seen it before... and it's all about Daniel, woo! Sure, James Spader is no Michael Shanks, but Daniel is still Daniel. Little Miss Sunshine is one of my favourite movies, it's so hilarious and cute. And The Lost Battalion... I saw it on A&E years and years ago, and I've always wanted to see it again. Now I can! It was a damn expensive DVD though. It better be as good as I remember.

I had a dilemma yesterday. The new episode of Battlestar Galactica was on at the same time as Star Wars: A New Hope. In the end, even though I own all of them, I opted to watch Star Wars. Because hey, it's Star Wars. I flipped to BSG during the commercials, and what I saw was very good. I miss Helo and Boomer. The Empire Strikes Back is on tonight. The best of the trilogy. The movie in which Han Solo`s hotness reaches it`s pinnacle. How exciting.

Umm. I didn't watch the episode because I worked. But my Dad told me what happened.

Danny CHEATS. On Lindsay. With Ruben's mother. As in, they do the horizontal mambo.

IIIIIIIII don't know. I mean, I used to love Danny and Lindsay together when it first happened. But then the novelty wore off. And now I hate them together and I just hate Lindsay in general pretty much. But it just seems totally out of character for Danny to CHEAT. With a grieving mother, no less. Though I understand that Ruben's death has completely messed with Danny's head, so I may be willing to forgive the writer's this misstep, and see where they take it.

I DID watch last week`s episode online. Stuff I liked:
-Lindsay's longer hair. The short was terrible on her. Though Danny is needing a trim
-Danny and Flack geeking out together over STAR WARS! Heeee, they`re so cute!
-I noticed Adam was looking damn fine in this episode. And the part where he gets excited and says Suspect X`s methods were brilliant, and Mac glares at him, and Adam stops smiling and says ``But evil, really evil``. Hahaha, Adam is hilarious.
-Flack trying to hit on Angell by telling her she looks good in the bullet-proof vest. He`s so smitten with her, and she`s just loving it. Man, they would be an amazingly good-looking couple.

Rome last night was amazing. One of the best episodes yet. There was quite a bit of swearing near the end, but other then that, it had me cheering at the TV repeatedly.

Speaking of which, I had a dream about Rome last night. I was hanging out with Octavian, who was discussing the many benefits of his newly appointed position as Roman Emperor, when Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo come running down the street in a panic, screaming that there is a monster chasing them. Octavian and I stand up and look down the street where Vorenus and Pullo came from, when all of a sudden a Tyrannosaurus Rex comes thumping towards us. It eats everyone and everything in it's path, thus causing the collapse of the Roman Empire.

It's kinda funny now, but it was terrifying at the time, lmao.

I'm still bummed that I missed Battlestar Galactica. And I work evenings tonight, tomorrow, and Thursday, so I'm going to miss CSI and CSI:NY. Work... who needs it, amirite?

So I was sitting on my couch last night, waiting for CSI:NY to start, all excited for the new episode to begin. I had the TV on the station about 5 minutes before the show was to start... I watched the clock ticking down the minutes... the excitement built... and then two minutes before the new episode started... the channel cuts out. And doesn't come back on until midnight.

STORY OF MY LIFE.

Also, I was watching something on CityTV today and a commercial comes on, and the screen flashes with "Supernatural. NEW episode tonight!" So then I almost had a panic attack and looked frantically at the TV Guide, but apparently CityTV is just confused. Ugh.

Who is this Maddie woman?

Grissom has a BOXER!! OMG. Since when does he have a dog anyways? Who looks after it when he's working double and triple shifts? I LOVE Boxers. My favourite breed! My dad said he should name the dog "Sara", lol.

I don't know why I bother with these running commentaries. I never say anything productive or even remotely interesting. Of course CSI is not a very good show to do a running commentary on. It's never very comedic or action-packed...

OF COURSE AS SOON AS I SAY IT'S NOT ACTION-PACKED, A BOMB GOES OFF IN GRISSOM'S FACE. OF COURSE.

... But anyways, as I was saying, it never really has any big twists or anything. Actually, I agree with Hodges. Nick and Greg keep coughing and sneezing all over everything. They're compromising the evidence. They should definitely be wearing masks, at the very least while processing the evidence.

The technology on this show seems to be a lot more realistic then on CSI:Miami. Miami has some weird things going on there.

I went to Chapters yesterday and got two books: Helen of Troy by Margaret George, and Antony and Cleopatra by Colleen McCullough. I'm really excited to start reading them, but I need to finish The Time Travelers Wife first. I'm about a quarter of the way through it, and I love it so far, so I doubt it will take long.

I talked to the ex today. We're meeting tomorrow to talk. :S

I watched the last episode of Battlestar Galactica, plus a couple of specials recapping the series so far, and I have to say that it has renewed my BSG love. Now I'm torn on whether to buy the Stargate Atlantis seasons, or the BSG seasons. Decisions, decisions.

chromodoris, the end of April is so far away, but I am going to try to wait until you get home. And then we are having the biggest TV watching marathon of our lives, by re-watching all of The X-Files. It will put our Friends watching marathon to shame. Yes.
