I like what you’ve got going on around 1:09, 1:34, 1:51 and 2:10. I feel like that’s when the song really comes into its own. When it all comes together at 2:46 it sounds pretty great. That third chord (at places like 2:12) is a bold, interesting choice but maybe needs just a little more help - I think perhaps it’s colliding with the lead and the lead should adapt to that chord change.

I would consider dropping the random blips and get to the guitar and drums faster - I think it detracts from a solid idea.

I listened to it like 4 times to leave this comment - it’s an interesting piece!

It’s a bit dissonant but it works. I like the strings that come in at 0:36. It’s as if I’ve stepped into a wacky scientists lab and he’s telling me about all his weird inventions before he gets to the one I came for.

This is one of the most unique sounding entries I’ve heard so far - interesting mixture of instruments! A happy little track I could bop around in a NPC village too.

Nice sound and chill vibe but it needs a second part.

Solid retro vibe. I feel like I just finished a Metroidvania on my NES.

I like the pads that come in at 0:32 and the lead at 0:48.

It’s a chill little piece but I think you need to switch up the chord progression for some variety.

Definitely has an old-school feel. I like when it sweeps in at 0:20 and the shift at 0:38.

Awww, why the fade out? Keep going!

Very pretty tune with nice instrumentation. I like how the lead and piano play off of each other.

The overall volume need to be bumped up and it cuts off too abruptly at the end.

Sweet vibe and pulses - I like the mood of this a lot. I also like the little break in the middle at 1:28. Interesting sound effects throughout.

Would code to this.

I want it to go on longer!

What a fun chirpy track! Gives me Super Mario 64 vibes. I love the little stingers and sound effects sprinkled throughout. Some of it almost sounds like background singers jumping to emphasize things. I like the little accordion bits too :-)

This feels like I’ve finally found a town of friendly people to relax with after some traumatic opening scene/battle.

Sweet piano lead and use of pitch bends. Nice arrangement and overall feel.

Love bridge harmonies around 1:51!

If I had one critique… I don’t think the title doesn’t match the vibe of the song. It seems more chill and laid back than adventurous.

You’ve got some interesting chords changes going on in here… along with some wild ones.

The first 13 seconds feel like a completely different piece than the rest of it in 3/4. The rest of it makes for a very nice background piece - I can definitely imagine exploring a new town and having NPC discussions to it. I like the main melody you have going on in it.

Production-wise it sounds like it’s all electric piano, which starts to fight with itself sonically after a while. It can also be tough for chords to sound decent in the lower registers. I wonder what this would sound like instrumented with some woodwinds and strings…

It feels like it has a lot of potential, so definitely keep working on it!

Love the mood and that bass patch. Very suspenseful piece that feels like it could use a full orchestra. Maybe even a breakbeat eventually :-)

I think it might be a bit too dramatic for background music but that doesn’t mean it’s not really fucking cool!

A pretty song with nice instrumentation and chord progression.

I’d suggest pulling back the reverb and volume of the drum track - it feels like it’s in a different sonic space than the rest of the instruments.

Thank you!

The patch at 1:23 and 1:41 is called “KlavTron”. All the tracks except for the 2 drum tracks are M-Tron Pro patches (a Mellotron replica), hence the track name :-D

Yesss, love the vibe and instrumentation of this. What a mood! Contemplating where your choices have gotten you as you try to soldier on after a climactic event and return to the surface.

All that said, if you want others to appreciate the music you make then you should consider appreciating the art others make instead of using AI generated images. It also puts a stain on your music to see one AI generated cover art after another. I honestly almost didn’t bother listening when I saw the cover art.

I’ve been playing Caves of Qud recently and this feels like it could slide right into the soundtrack, probably whilst I’m trading with some odd archeologist or something or trying to figure out what some mysterious machine does. My only complaint is that it’s too short - I want to hear more of it!

Really well produced and nice use of the pitch bends. It feels a little more “fight music” than “background music” to me, but still really well done. I wasn’t expecting the distorted guitar to kick in, so that was a nice surprise and amped up the energy. It maybe got a little too hectic for me when the really busy drum beat kicked in but it certainly evokes some intensity!

Fun little cutscene that gives you a preview of the level if you’re paying attention. The jumping controls were a little rough but I managed to get fairly far in the level. I was impressed to see locked doors, keys, pipes, vines, jump pads, switches and moving platforms!

Nice art style and the ambience of the train passing by was really nice. Neat little world to walk around in - would love to see more!

There were a few places where I got stuck due to the collision detection and it was hard to tell because I was behind something else.

This is a neat idea with an impressive implementation in the musical grid. I did find myself fighting with the goose heads to get them to the notes I wanted. As a musician I wanted more options for notes :-)

Definitely one of the weirder and more unique entries!

A very unique game both in art style and gameplay… but I still wasn’t sure what to do and I lost my relaxation every time.

I was a little surprised to see the middle mouse button being used. I think keyboard controls might have been more appropriate if you’re just holding down buttons for the gameplay. Then you could have mapped breathing in to the left side and breathing out to the right side?

This is a great looking game but I did not find it comfy - it was a bit stressful. The tutorial level was a nice touch but I think I would’ve liked a easier battle or two to get used to the attack against a “live” enemy.

Really well done! The little notes and comments/questions from the customers was a nice reason to keep playing. I did find it a little stressful, though, especially the pumpkin carving - I had a hard time getting people’s orders right.

My only real complaint is binding the Return key to the options menu. I feel like Space and Enter should’ve been the same thing. I keep interrupting my game cause I hit the Return key.

Thank you for checking it out!

Learning something from a Game Jam is always a great result!

I was curious why the car sounded like a sleeping cat but then I finally figured out how to turn my head and realized why. Good potential here - I played for a bit but only ever got 1 road turn option.

This was quite nice and made me laugh several times - it was almost more fun to get the orders wrong than right! Some of the orders I still couldn’t get right but I’m sure with multiple playthroughs I’d eventually get it.

Love the torus level - don’t think I’ve ever seen that in a game like this.

Also loved the book being written as my character explored and fought, particularly how the maze took me “2 days” to get through. Might be nice to add a day/night cycle… though how that works on a torus shaped world I have no idea.

The only thing that didn’t seem to work for me was that I couldn’t scroll the book after I died. Might be because I’m on a MacBook Air with a touch pad?

This is very cool! I love the Mad Libs/Choose Your Own Adventure style of the game - very unique! Great graphics with a very nice palette. Also has just the right amount of strategy and enemy mechanics. It was hard to tell when I was being hit, though.

And if I’m being super nit-picky, the only confusing thing was that you use the same arrow graphic for reading the next passage and leaving an area. I was trying to click on the arrow after finishing an area.

The game looks really great but I struggled with the controls. I think a controller would work better for this kind of precise jumping and dashing.

Love the effect when you respawn!

Very cool and challenging. I’ll need to come back to this one and try to get further. Excellent graphics and clear gameplay.

Wow, this is pretty fantastic! It took me minute to get it but once I did… very cool and unique.

It would be cool if the music/instrumentation smoothly changed as you moved from one “book” level to another to represent the story/era.

I think you should keep working on this! Shows tremendous promise.

A nice little asteroid game!

It feels like the difficulty ramps up pretty quickly. Or I’m just not that good at the game.

I think it would be helpful to display the name of the pickup you just got so you have an idea of what it does. One turned me red and another turned me blue but I don’t know what that means.

Well done - Definitely a bullet hell game! Cool effect on the main menu though it seems like the Musicbox portion doesn’t work?

If I had one request it would be for the debris of ships to not be the same color as the ship - makes it hard to discern them from living ships.

The intro sequence was cool.

But I was fighting with my trackpad to aim in the direction I wanted which was ultimately frustrating.

Super solid entry! Music gave me awesome NES vibes and the gameplay is essential SHMUP action.

Not sure if it’s intentional, but I like that it saves my progress across sessions.

I had to play full screen, otherwise my browser (Edge) would scroll the page when using the arrow keys. But I wanted to see the great pixel art larger anyways!

I honestly found this game frustrating. Everybody shoots faster than you and directly downward so you basically just have to take damage to defeat them. Sure you get coins but nothing I ever bought showed up on my ship. And going to the Pit Stop didn’t give me anything.

Did I miss something?

Well done! Loved the graphics and the death effect was very cool. Pretty tough I found, though. Might be nicer to start off with some simpler enemies and then introduce tougher ones later on?
