Great game! I really like how all the different recruitment options have so much personality in their faces! Aswell as how you level them up. Really makes you get attached. I also like how you kept the map one simple screen with a detailed intricate map of the city and kept everything very digestible with onboarding. The music also sets a great vibe and keeps the loop rewarding, aswell as with the sound effects being clear what the consequences and loot were. Honestly I loved the concept of the towns awareness to you. And think it creates a nice sense of risk /reward. I think if the game were to be expanded to sacking multiple towns. The risk of losing everything gained from a 8 day streak plus more would make choosing when to migrate to another town really fun! I think you guys did a great job with the balancing too! Making sure there wasnt 1000 missions or 1000 people to recruit making it too overwhelming. But was still enough to make fun and interesting choices. With tradeoffs that required discernment. This could defiently be expanded to a long game where you slowly find and cultivate a small but effective guild! Maybe the more people you have the more word gets round the town? Really expandable idea but what you have is still a solid prototype!

Are you guys secretly Anna G and Nathan Kessel lol?
One of my favorite entries! The chinchilla is such a memorable mascot! The art and audio really mesh well together! Really gives the feeling of hastily scurrying around! Aswell as the munching and hiding inside meshes well. The shop bossa nova really sets the atmosphere too! I also love how horrifying blue apron guy is . And how he can appear super quickly like the parents in Tom and Jerry. Almost a horror game. Keeping there face omitted and up to imagination was such a good choice aswell as you can easily imagine the sus faces hes making as the awareness goes up. Has such a great cat and mouse dynamic! The difficulty curve is also great. Too many games have too much reading and too difficult starting levels but the onboarding and ramping up of difficulty is very digestible. And different foods having different obscurity but more filling creates a lot of fun trade offs. Also The crying or happiness is such a slick transition that fits them perfect. The game honestly reminds me of a level based Fix It Felix in a good way! Also would love to hear your thoughts on our entry if you have time but other then that keep up the great work!
I love how polished and clean the art is. As well as the concept of having to manage your criminal group of cheese criminals was so good! Had ratatouille vibes in a good way. Even named the unnamed mice Remy! I also liked how fat the sound effects sounded in a good way. Really made even navigating the menu satisfying. Aswell as the suspicious Jazz. I do think the tutorial was a bit too long as I think some of the information they were saying was obvious. I wish there was more dialog developing the different rats personalities as I think they have a lot of charm. The art also helped with this and there various faces. I think the jail time for your best mice was pretty brutal but other then that fantastic loop! Also would love to hear your thoughts on our entry if you have time but keep up the good work!
Your artist did a great job making the characters ooze personality. The sneaking animation. And the peeking from behind things was great. Aswell as the posture of the guards. The Music and SFX also had really good cohesion. The mime was also a memorable choice of mascot. I also loved how you also used real fine art! I do think the pace could have been slightly faster but was no bugs and gameplay was very clear and digestible. Keep up the good work!
Really great entry! The pixel dungeon grid map looks really good! I expesially like how the fog and light interact to set an eerie vibe! The music also fits the retro aesthetic and mood great. I also liked how some enemies you couldn't easily sneak up but instead had to lure and lead them / do a good job storing health with previous enemies! The level backtracking was Kinda difficult cause of how there wasn't too many landmarks so I got lost a few times before I beat Would also love your thoughts on our entry if you have time but keep up the great work!
I really like the concept of being a medieval taxman trying to milk the most out of subjects! I also like how theres a spatial challenge of some of the better districts being farther away and it taking time. Wish there was more of a downside or punishment from asking an outrageous price. Could make picking the right amount on the abacus more intense lol! But other then that the gameplay loop is really cool! Getting the letters each day add a lot of satisfying narrative and the stamp press fits so well. Keep up the great work!
Yea the AI was one of the biggest things I wished I spent more time on. Atleast getting them to try and face the player. Right now they only try to steer towards player relative predefined spots. Which is a combination of closest one and dot product of orientation. Would have been better to have the target position change though to make them less cheeseable! Thanks for the feedback!
Really like the concept! Depressing that this is a thing in real life though. I really like the lore reason for having to 'borrow' data to pay the VPN / Bank lol. Although I haven't played many of these games but I do find it cool how its able to tell a story through UI alone I haven't played many games like that. Keep this level of narrative intrigue in your upcoming games!
I like the concept of having to single handedly take out all the towers by via stealth! Reversing the Bloons game formula. Also the hand drawn art is cool and fits the theme. I expesially like the art for the guy who gives the tutorial and how you hide in the darkness. I do think the art might be slightly too messy though. Also I think the hitboxes are very tricky and the controls are a bit finicky. But the vision is great!
One of the coolest mascots of the jam! The ideas of a gun slinging octopus who steals the guns of his enemies. Ties well into the theme! I do think the controls were a little strange and unintuitive but I do like the skill you have to get with aiming up and crouching! Also the reload being just a rotation was weirdly fire. Probably mostly just cause you had to do everything so time was probably limited. Also would love to get your thoughts on our entry if you have time. But keep up the great work!
Love the billboard manga look! White the black and white style its really distinct and memorable and fits with the hand drawn 'crayon' theme. Did you guys make it yourself? I also like how how you have to crouch to get some of the items. And sneak before they scold you. Was able to get enough items to pass and get the bravo! The theme is also very relatable to real life when you find that one freind with your distinctive pen 3 days after you lost it lol. Also would love to get your thoughts on our entry if you have the time, but keep up the good work!
One of my favorite games ive played so far! The art is amazing and very adorable / memorable! That opening cutscene really sets the cozy vibe. Aswell as the music setting the tone. The parallax background makes it really feel like your exploring this room as a mouse. I expesially love the level where you have to push the bus! I wasnt able to get passed the first yellow crayon level? As no matter how many times I stacked those 3 shapes I could not make it across lol. I kid you not spent like 20 minutes trying over and over! I do think this is the biggest problem with the game. The solutions can be a little obscure aswell as what has solid collision, whats a drop down platform, and what will trigger activity on the rigid bodies versus what will be unaffected by your blue wrecking ball. Im not sure how this could be remedied but still very engaging! Also the controls felt a little difficult. I guess you gotta disable controls or else people would spawn shapes and then jump on them mid air. But made it feel a little clunky in a few spots. Overall I could easily see this becoming a professional release. Super clean work and relates well to the jam!
Also if you have time would love to hear your thoughts on our entry but keep up the great work! Expesially if this is your first jam your doing holistically with all aspects
Really great game! I love the vault intro. Also the simplicity of collecting gold bars to advance. Also the idea of different speed and stealth on different levels for different challenges. The music fits the vibe aswell though I wish it was a little quieter lol. The carpet also fits the vibe of a bank well!. The overall scale of everything is really well done so I suspect you didnt have much time to work on it or else a lot of the placeholder stuff would have more work? Really solid core though! Also would love to hear your thoughts on our game if you have time, but keep up the great work!
Really fantastic mascot! Made me click on this game before a lot of others. And the perfect animal to pick for this theme! The animations are also hilarious in the accuracy. With that iconic posture and activities. Also dancing for the guy was unexpected but a great surprise. Also the way the pest control is implied as an on site enemy lol! I do think the game did not have enough danger as it felt like you didnt have to worry about him too much. Also wasn't able to see a score anywhere. But the art fit really good into the crayon theme and perhaps with some slightly different balancing could add a lot more stakes! Also if you have time would love to know your thoughts on our entry, but keep up the great work. This little guy has so much character! Which is hard to achieve in only 9 days
Really great entry! I love how quick and intuitive the controls are. The fast jazz felt straight out of whiplash and fit the game perfect with its break neck pacing! I also loved how you want to look for the best loot! With some items giving you absolutely nothing. Makes it feel way more frantic and exciting as you don't have the time to comb through every corner. The animations and character designs are also cool and help with this feeling. MCs fit is drip and the guards chasing you add just enough sense of danger! Also if you have time would love your thoughts on our entry, but keep up the great work! Really great onboarding!
Really great narrative motivation and introductory cutscene. Having you wife and child immeaditly sacrificed and having to get back souls from angry villagers who chase you with pitch forks is such a great idea and charming. Was immeaditly invested. Also the art and music sets the vibe quick! The controls were a bit odd but once you learn how to go invisible / steal multiple at a time makes a really fun cycle. I think 100 was a lot but gave a clear milestone to chase! Also if you have time would be curious your thoughts on our entry, but keep up the good work!
Really cool art and sound effects! Also love how they would move really gave a lot of life. Expesially the dealing and selection effects. The chips having a pentagram was cool aswell. Straight out of cuphead core in a good way! The devil having his own card was also sweet. I do think as someone who doesn't play a lot of card games the onboarding was a little dense. But other then that the bet cycle was really nice! Also if you have time would be curious your thoughts on our entry, but keep up the great work!
Really love the crayon top down art style! Also being able to go into a hole then pop out like a mole was a really cool mechanic! Felt really satisfying to have to stay inside of the range and to pick pocket. Really well balanced with the enemy amount of enemies / victims aswell! Enough to feel fair and not rage bait. But also enough to not feel mindless or boring. Also the hole adds so much intrigue onto what the lore is? What is he doing with all this money and why is he hiding it away lol. Is he a hermit / homeless man just tryna get by? Or maybe its for drugs and hes an addict? Whats the cannon lol. Also the loony toons transition was great. My one critique is having them scream in fear felt like a failure state? Id imagine a successful pickpocket would be completely silent with just the kaching. But other then that great entry! Also if you have time would be curious your thoughts on our entry, but keep up the good work!
Really love the sus character design and the carpet! Also watching them waddle about is very funny. I do think its very easy to escape the awareness of them so I think if you had a limited time would have made it more intense. Also was hard to figure out what the dice do. Still one of the first thumbnails I checked though, so its a very captivating idea. The character designs and title are clear and effective! Also if you have the time would be curious your thoughts on our entry, keep up the great work though!
Yea. Was a lot more lights but had to get rid of a lot of them cause compatibility has a limit lol. Wasted hours trying to figure that out due to a visual bug. Made game run a lot faster as an accidental result! Also super small textures helped a lot. Aswell as just using material slots with solid colors instead of textures. Overall people overestimate how expensive geometry is for lag and underestimate how expensive textures are on in the graphics card.
Yea the eyes wide shut movie was the inspiration. I had actually never seen it only our musician. Watched it the night we got the prompt thought it would make great inspiration! Although didnt have enough time to make nearly enough cool costumes as they had!
Really great concept. Blasting felt way more satisfying then it had any right to. Which made the grind really enjoyable and memorable. I do wish there was bit more audio and art. Also no reason you couldnt just stay by a mask. But in a lot of ways this is just a cleverly disguised cookie clicker and productivity game. So I didnt mind the spatial challenge was kinda trivial. Solid work!
One of the coolest vibes in the jam. The glowing guy and the flying. Flying with RMB was really cool aswell as the cinema of it all. I do wish the environments felt less claustrophobic with the spring arm. Also the enemies attacks were hard to read or how you were supposed to avoid them. Audio could help with this a lot? Other than that though really great entry. Really memorable and unique

Also got stuck on this level even though I collected all the ingots? Maybe its hte final level?
