Hi. I forgot I also posted on itch.io, but I've already found a team. Sorry, mabye a next time !

One of the best entries of the jam !

The storie was really emotional, I loved it. It wasn't a simple visual novel.

Music was really nice, animations are all really polished, and you did awesome work with shaders.

I don't know what to say... this should win !

(1 edit)

Thank you for the information, that would be nice to add it in the jam page ! But don't worry, I didn't pass Level 2 :)

Really liked this puzzle game ! The mechanics were well chosen. The level design was really good.

The background music was nice, even if it felt kinda repetitive after a few minutes.

I also experienced a little bug : sometimes (seems to be 3 and 4 like said Fainspirit) not being able to drag batteries out of their slot.

I really wish you continue working on it, with more levels.

(1 edit)

I have caught a bug while playing : I was able to corner in a wall, and didn't figured out how to get out of it, so I had to reset the game.

The best game I have seen during the jam !

I liked anything from the main mechanic (even if I'm bad at mouse games) to all the details and the art.

Everything seems polished and juicy with the sound, the particles, the satisfaction to break things.

I also really liked the game page !

Definitely deserves 5-stars in almost every category. I really think you should continue to work on it after the jam.

The game was just awesome. It's a good tower defense game, the concept is original, and perfectly fits the theme.

The gameplay is very nice, and really polished.

All your pixel art is so cute. I enjoyed the music too.

There was enough upgrades and mechanics. That was challenging to finish.

I have nothing else to say, everything is good !

The game definitely deserves 5/5 in most categories. Very good work !

EDIT : check my comment

Nice gameplay.

The art was very cute, with the detailed ground (grass, trees, etc.)

The music was nice. However, the SFX were too loud.

Unfortunately, I didn't understand how the game follows the theme. Also, little problems like anti-aliasing or different font color made the game no 1-bit (I have found 10 different colors on the main menu).

Apart from that, a very good game.

I had 3 colors too, the game over text was white, while background was black, and characters were red

The concept is good. That was a challenge to follow 5 themes and the 1-bit restriction.

The intro is really nice, very original idea. The UI is complete, there is even an online Leaderboard.

I liked the music and SFX.

The gameplay idea was good, but the implementation wasn't fun enough : it was almost impossible to die, especially after wave 30. It needs a real goal for the player, and it should be much more challenging.

I also experienced lag around waves 15-20. I sadly haven't found the Easter Egg.

Good work !

Thanks for playing !

You have performance issues ?

That's what I hate with Web Builds : I had 12000 FPS in Local Debugger, and then Web export dropped them so hard.

I'll add object pooling system for bullets after the jam.

Thanks for playing.

The visuals and the atmosphere are just awesome. You did really good work with the shader. The game is really juicy with lightning and smooth animations. The fighting felt really satisfying

The sound was really nice : music fits the atmosphere, and SFX sounds good (I don't know if it's a mistake, but the Cloud Dash plays a different sound if it's used with the Spacebar.

Hitting the lightning ball was really fun !

The only problem in my opinion : there isn't a real goal. The game can be endless, but adding some health and damage is the only improvement I can imagine for your game.

Amazing work !

It was a long time I haven't seen any PICO-8 games. I like this one.

The concept of switching forms was a nice gameplay. It was really juicy with screenshakes, flashs and orbs.

The artstyle is nice and cute.

I don't know if it's a bug, but I can't hear any music. However the SFX are awesome.

Also a little visual bug (not important, but I report it anyway) : if I press X to switch in the part 3/3 of the tutorial, two texts will overlap.

Good entry !

The character is so cute, like Kirby !

The tutorial was well made. Movement and jumping are really smooth and feel good.

I really liked the ziplines. Very fun platformer.

The artstyle is really nice. All the background elements are really cool, even if sometimes, you can get confused if it's solid or not because it's 1-bit.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to play it until the end, because of the keyboard controls (try to stick to WASD, Arrows, other letters, and mabye Shift + mabye offer 2 possibilities for the same action like WASD & Arrows or Shift & Z).

Good and cute game !

That's one of the best entries I've rated so far.

Gameplay is really fun, patterns are getting really interesting above 5000, and it perfectly fits the theme.

Art is really good, almost everything have animations. The in-game tutorial was a good idea. Music was nice too.

I think at a point, the patterns change too often (like every 2 seconds) and that become too hard. It would be probably more satisfying if the pattern change frequency had a limit, and after some time, only the frequency of lightnings was increasing.

This being said, the game is amazing !

The gameplay was simple, but I was nice.

Art was really good ! Shocking animations were nice (making them smoother would probably have took too much time).

I enjoyed the music too.

Around 100, everything was so fast, it became interesting to play.

Good game !

It's a very nice concept.

The art and audio are both really good.

But the are some possible improvements for the gameplay.
I was following your development progress on Discord and then I tried the game, and seen only 1 attack type, 1 enemy type and I thought "What Happened 😅". Then I seen the screenshots and GIFs of the gameplay and I seen other capacities and enemies.
In my opinion, unlocking is too slow (it took me more than 6 minutes to unlock bow, and then I was struggling charging it). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try what happens after that.

I agree that adding more verticality to the gameplay, but I know enemy AI (especially for platformer enemies) is hard for a jam.

I also have the UI scaling problem : the text hidden like the whole 1st layer of floor.

Good work !

I liked the art. Music was pretty nice.

The controls could have been improved, as they don't really fits the gameplay in my opinion.

The concept is good, but it seems like you should reset the game if you waste 1 shock (or mabye I haven't seen I can recharge it).

Needs some polish, but nice game.

Hi.

Yes I pressed the blue button, it still don't works.

My screen is 16:10 so, that's mabye a part of the problem.

Are you on the Discord for easier communication (I'm 0xNil) ?

Hello, I'm Nil.

I'm a GameMaker programmer. I can build any 2D game. I use Git version control, and I can collaborate efficiently with a team.

I have already took part to 5 game jams before.

I'm looking for a team for the Cookie Jam #3, especially an artist and a composer (but I'm always open to other roles). I'm open for joining an existing team of course. My timezone is UTC+1.

Here is a link to my itch.io page, if you want to see my previous projects : https://0xnil-dev.itch.io.

You can answer to the post here or contact me on Discord (0xnilx0) if interested.

It's fun, but there was some problems others already metionned.

I really liked the game !

Even if I'm bad at mouse-input games, the climbing felt satisfying.

Music & SFX are nice. Artstyle is good too.

I haven't fully understood the story with Lattice, but that wasn't really a problem to play.

A nice improvement would have been to slightly enlarge the click detection areas, as sometimes they are missed by only a few pixels.

Good work !

the average ratings in Luxodd Jam are 2.1, so dw

Don't ban me, I'm joking !

JUST AN AWESOME GAME lol :)

The puzzle level design is really good, I liked it.

The music tracks are really nice, and are long enough.

The art is very good, as there isn't any confusion even in 1-bit.

One small problem : the UI is cropped on the sides, but I understood the controls anyway after being stuck for some time (fullscreen doesn't solve the problem for me).

One of the best entries I rated so far !

DEV HIGHSCORE :

Yes, I'm aware of the problem with the first enemy type. They don't move much. I should have made a global direction system, but I hadn't time to implement that.

Thanks for playing.

Nice game : combining minigames is a good concept.

I had some trouble to figure out what to do for the minigame with the face I had to click. Some tutorial, even a small text would be nice (ig you can still add instructions on the jam page).

But the artstyle is nice, and I really liked both music and SFX.

Good work !

Yes, the last days of the jam, I did much polish and added some juice to it !

Thanks for playing.

Really happy lo liked it ! Thanks for playing.

I really liked the art !

For the gameplay, I like platformers, but even if there wasn't many platforming elements, good positioning was needed to finish the level while killing enemies. It's short, but that's not a big problem for a jam.

Music was good too.

Very cute game, definitely a good entry.

Hi !

Yes, if I had some more time, I would have added some bars for the HUD instead of simple numbers.

Thanks for playing !

Hi.

Initially, electricity was buffing the player (it still does with speed). Then, it became a way to prevent the player from killing every spaceship, before they even shoot and to force him to dodge too (I had to limit it). Also a way to implement the theme (because I changed my plans, and noticed it didn't fit it enough at all). But yes, I can understand it can be annoying some of the players.

Thanks for playing !

The game is so good !

You are really productive while jamming : the game is polished, with good animations and art. It feels very good.

I have only one problem : I don't understand why sometimes, I can't jump anymore. Also, at some points of the game, you really need the Zap, but there isn't enough electricity to charge it.

Thanks for playing !
