Inclusion and Diversity

At ISL, we deeply value and respect our diverse community of students, faculty, staff, and administrators. We believe that fair treatment, justice, and equality—regardless of race, creed, religion, color, culture, national origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, physical ability, or socioeconomic status—are fundamental human rights.

As an educational institution, our responsibility extends beyond academics. We are committed to nurturing a community that fosters understanding, justice, and peace. Our goal is to instill in every student the values of compassion, empathy, integrity, and a deep respect for others.

We are dedicated to providing learning experiences that:

  • Celebrate and embrace diversity and culture.
  • Empower all students, regardless of their background or identity.
  • Cultivate critical thinking and social responsibility.
  • Promote respect, inclusion, and belonging.

Diversity alone is not enough—we must actively create spaces where it thrives. As part of our commitment to inclusion, we continuously seek to learn, grow, and improve. We strive to build a culture where every student and family feels welcomed, valued, and encouraged to fully participate in our community.

Living our Core Values means fostering an inclusive learning environment, and we invite you to help us grow every day.

Tuition Fees

ISL School Fees Policy

International School Leiden is a member of DIPS (Dutch International Primary and Secondary Schools) all of whom are partially funded by the Dutch government. Since this funding does not cover all costs, Dutch International Schools may charge school fees, within a pre-agreed range, with permission from the Dutch Ministry of Education. Our tuition fees enable us to keep the class sizes small, the possibility to hire staff internationally and to provide a modern, caring, and supportive learning environment.

The school fee for an ISL academic year is €4800, this covers all educational costs including field trips, activities, and excursions.

School fee structure

Should your child start on the first day of the academic school year then it is possible to choose how you would prefer to pay the school fees:

  • One single payment of €4800 before the start of the school year
  • Two equal payments of €2400 made the 1st
June and the 1st December annually
  • Four equal payments of €1200 made the 1st June,1st September,1st January,1st May
  • 10 equal payments of €480 made the 1st of each month

Calculation of Fees

If your child starts before the 15th of the month, school fees for the corresponding month apply. If your child starts after the 15th of the month, the following months school fees apply. Our tuition fees for the coming academic year have not yet been determined however, we confirm that primary tuition fees will not increase by more than 5% annually.

Students starting school after the start of the academic year will receive an invoice within 14 days of a place been confirmed.
