Yes, I know its blogspot. Some of you might feel betrayed. :( But you can still RSS feed me over here, I think? It just seemed like a better platform for a food blog.

I challenged Brian today to make a list of all the things he loves about himself. I figured it would be a good challenge for my livejournal friends as well, even though I don't post here often anymore. In the challenging economy we're facing personally here it can be nice to take a few minutes to recognize your own value and worth, especially if you are struggling with the job market like we are. Its hard when you get rejected to remember why they should hire you!!
So take a minute and think about it, even if you don't post it publicly. If you do post it, I'd love to see what you're thinking. :)

Anyone else having problems with icons disappearing? I can't see like half of mine. :( I tried reloading one, same name etc but it still won't show up. Thoughts?
Or are they all showing up for you and its just my internet? >_<

Anyone know of any good photo recovery software that can recover video files? Especially free/shareware or something you have and want to share. *wink* Cause my memory card sucks and has been dropping photos every time I plug it in. I bought a $20 recover off download.com, but it hasn't found my video files and I wanted to check before I formatted the damn thing. :(

Step One

Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a fandom icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it. Once a wish has been granted, it will be crossed off my list.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

I've done a friends cut, just getting rid of comms I don't care about any more, people that didn't have me friended back and never posted anymore, things like that. Its just so complicated dealing with filters and skimming with all that crap in the way! I had way to many things friended or watched or joined.
