Synopsis

Battlefield 6 returns to spectacle-scale, combined-arms warfare and adds a full single-player campaign set in 2027. You play alongside Dagger 13 — an elite Marine unit — across nine bombastic missions against the private military force Pax Armata. The multiplayer side foregrounds classic Battlefield chaos with smarter squad tools and a refreshed movement package called Kinesthetic Combat (drag-revive, peek/lean, combat rolls, weapon mounting, hitch-a-ride). The result is faster, more survivable infantry play without losing Battlefield’s identity.

Platforms

PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam, EA App, Epic Games Store). Cross-play and cross-progression are supported.

Modes

All-Out Warfare

Conquest — Sector control across sprawling maps with improved spawn logistics and clearer objective staging.

Breakthrough — Attackers push through linear sectors; defenders counter with phase-based vehicle access and strongholds.

Rush — Classic M-COM assault in chained sectors for tight, objective-led firefights.

Escalation — New playlist where captured territory collapses the map inward, forcing a dramatic endgame clash.

Squad Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Domination, King of the Hill — fast rotations with Battlefield destruction and gadget interplay.

Portal (Builder & Browser) A robust creation suite and curated browser let you remix rules, weapon pools, and objectives. Featured and community picks rotate, with progression clearly separated between official and custom experiences.

Graphics & Performance

Visuals: Dense particle work, robust lighting, and layered destruction sell the scale while keeping sightlines readable.

Performance Modes (Consoles):

Performance: Targeting high, stable frame rates above 60.

Quality: Higher resolution and effects targeting ~60.

PS5 Pro and XBOX Series X offer higher resolution at higher framerates.

https://medium.com/media/1c482d4647ddd119000c02c72aa0538a/href
Gunplay, Vehicles & Sandbox

Gunplay: Distinct weapon roles with readable recoil; DMRs/LMGs finally feel purposeful.

Vehicles: Armor anchors pushes; transports matter for spawns; air power rewards practiced crews. Plenty of counters keep vehicles honest.

Destruction & Tools: Micro-destruction shapes every fight; big set-pieces shift lanes. Gadgets (smoke drones, ziplines, mobile beacons) enable creative squad plays.

Progression & Monetization

Progression: Account-wide XP, class-led unlock trees, and early access to baseline attachments reduce newcomer disadvantage.

Monetization: Cosmetic-focused and mostly grounded; storefront exists but doesn’t overwhelm core play.

Final Summary

Battlefield 6 doesn’t reinvent the series, it restores it and builds on a long history. Where the Call of Duty franchise has long been failing, Battlefield has now capitalised. The campaign gives the package a blockbuster spine, Escalation spices up the playlist mix, Portal future-proofs the sandbox, and Kinesthetic Combat modernizes movement without going arcade. Expect some launch-window rough edges, but the design fundamentals are strong and the big-battle drama is back.

Score: 8/10

Battlefield 6 was originally published in Ireland’s Technology Blog on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

The Technaxx TX-167 tries to walk a line of providing good features at an affordable price.

Recognizes speed signs up to 160km/h

Front collision warning

Lane departure warning

Loop video recording

G-Sensor for file protection

Big 4” LCD screen

Media playback

Sound captures with microphone

Voice output in different languages

Speed sign recognition, collision warning and lane keep are all nice features.

Considering the 149 Euro price tag it contains features such as speed sign recognition, forward collision alert and even lane departure warnings

Speed Signs

The camera will detect speed signs up to 160kph and for the most part the onboard algorithms pick up the signs well. However it did often read side road signs that were visible giving a false speed sign, for example, 50 on a 120kph zone, but it was not too common. I think future versions would be great to have a GPS module option that can automatically know the speed zone.

Forward Collision Alerts

When enabled the camera will monitor how close you are to the car in front and alert you to keep your distance. You need to calibrate this at setup otherwise you may get alerted too often but it’s a nice feature to have for those who don’t like to pay attention to cars in front.

Lane Departure Alerts

The lane departure alerts and overlays certainly look nice on the large clear screen however I did find that the alert would only come when I would cross the line. It would be nicer to have an alert before the line is crossed, a potential software update could resolve this. One other thing that might annoy some is because the dashcam is not aware of your car’s systems, it will alert you even when changing lanes.

Day and Night Samples
https://medium.com/media/53ce5aef616d5cb283fabfb778a38e1f/href
I found the camera overall to be quite nice, the large screen is definitely a plus to have, and the clarity while only 1080P was very good in day time and night time.

One aspect that is lacking is an app, the dashcam has no WiFi so you will need to pop out the memory card and put into your computer to get video from it. This is not a deal breaker for many though as many times dashcam apps can be quite terrible.

If you would like to buy or even look at any other Technaxx products visit their page below:

Technaxx Dashcam with assistance systems TX-167

Review: Technaxx Dashcam was originally published in Ireland’s Technology Blog on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

Well, that did not happen and now they are the biggest name in the motor industry and their cars keep going from strength to strength…sorry Peugeot.

The Tesla Model Y is Tesla’s latest car and completes their S3XY line up in Ireland with deliveries of the Long Range and Performance versions arriving in early 2022.

Prices will start from €69,800 for the Long Range AWD and €79,478 for the Performance edition. Price includes VAT of € 12,151, VRT of € 4,816 for the Long Range and includes VAT of € 13,834, VRT of € 5,494 for the Performance.

Looks

On the outside its looks are going to split opinion, it is somewhere between a Model 3, a Model X and an original Ford Puma and if you think that last statement is odd check this link.

I personally am a fan of the looks, sure it’s a bit toy like, and I would like a different style to the front but it’s still nice.

Inside is what counts

Much like people, it’s the inside that counts and inside the Model Y is a clean futuristic look and feel. Nothing feels cheap, or super expensive other than the screen but it all works and is very nice.

The steering wheel will allow you a degree of control over some functions but largely everything you do will be controlled by using the 15" touch screen. I can tell you that on my 150km test drive that getting used to this will take time. In fact I recommend you fully learn the system before ever driving as otherwise you are liable to be all over the road trying to stab at the screen.

There is ample space inside the car and easily accommodates 5 fully grown adults. There are some games on board too, and Netflix and YouTube and a full fat web browser.

While some might say things like this are distractions, well, to them I say, be an adult…don’t try to do something you should not be doing while driving.

Storage — Big at the rear, small at the front

The boot space on the Model Y is excellent, the floor is nice and flat with no load lip and you will easily fit all your holiday luggage for that trip to the airport. There are also some underneath cubbies to hide things like your charging cables.

While the ass end should be able to accommodate you the front is a different matter.

The frunk as it is called will hold about a sports bag which is fine, and in fact if this was a regular car an engine would be here so you are up space really.

Quicker than your Dad heading to the pub after lockdown

Let me qualify my next few statements by saying that I have a fast car, its got 252bhp and 420Nm but the Model Y absolutely destroys it. So much so it ruined my car for the next few days after having it. The dual motor long range version I drove has 435bhp and 493Nm of torque, it is crazy fast and its not even the fast car.

I did quite enjoy the Audi, BMW and Merc drivers who kept coming up fast behind me only to be left with dust on their windscreens….puny combustion engine cars……

Should you sell your mother

I think the answer to this needs to be yes, in comparison the rest of the industry who are still only playing catch up. Hyundai and Skoda are almost there but still not quite. There is a peace of mind knowing that your Tesla already has everything on it, no options other than wheels or colours. Everything else can be remote enabled later if you decide you want full self driving (when legal) for example. However traditional car companies still break everything up into “Packs” and charge you an arm and a leg.

Also, range anxiety is not something to worry about, the range is rated at 507km on a full charge and based on my usage I would estimate that in real world this will be about 420km if you are not smoking Audi and BMW drivers every day.

To find out more visit the Tesla Model Y Design Studio at the link below:

Design Your Model Y | Tesla

Tesla Model Y Review was originally published in Ireland’s Technology Blog on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

While I can see these used more for just perhaps on walks or adventures I would not really see people wearing them as their main set of sunglasses. Having showed some family the response what a little muted in terms of the style.

Features

Both styles feature polarized lenses and the implemented 2-way sound system ensures good stereo sound from the 1-Watt speakers which are built into the arms of the glasses.

Sound quality was decent but loudness was the major problem here, while I could crank up the volume and hear pretty well, the problem was that so could anyone else around me. In order for those people not to hear the audio the sound had to be quite low, which means it would rule these out for using while walking or on a bike ride.
https://medium.com/media/f8c1c7c77f1dcd0cc0e22fcc918318f4/href
In the arms of the glasses are volume controls and a port for USB charging the 220mAh battery. Speaking of the battery it lasted about 4 hours in my test but the glasses were not quite fully charged so I believe the 5 hours use time.

The glasses are IPX4 rated so using in the rain or splashing water on them should be no issue. Both styles come with a case to protect them while travelling or for storage.

Conclusion

While these glasses certainly wont suit everyone’s style tastes they should prove quite useful for many people.

Visit the Technaxx site for more products at:

Technaxx Deutschland GmbH & Co. So a few years ago I bought the Google WiFi three puck system and it instantly solved my issues of getting WiFi around my house and roughly kept the same speed as the main unit. However of late the system started to slow down, devices started to receive less and less speed. So after many weeks of investigating and tweaking, there really is not much you can do with the Google WiFi system I ultimately deemed it to be damaged as the ISP router was getting full speed.

Enter the UniFi Dream Machine

After some research I decided to make the plunge into Ubiquity’s UniFi range of products, something I have wanted to do for awhile now. I decided to purchase the UniFi Dream Machine which has the router, switch and cloud key already built into the amazing looking cylinder.

Even though my house is not large, it is made from solid concrete blocks and outer brick layer so I also purchased the UAP-AC-LR which has a max range of 183 meters or 600 feet. My plan was that the UDM main unit will live in the sitting room just like the old system did as that is where my ISP line is, the access point would then be at the top of my stairs at the back corner of the house. To my surprise before even adding the access point to the system the UDM was already giving me better coverage than the 3 puck Google WiFi system. After adding the access point in wireless up link mode to the setup, my entire house was covered, and not only that, covered with consistent WiFi speeds every time I would run a check.

The UAP-AC-LR access point which has PoE

The Setup

Setting up the system which lets remember is not 100% intended normally for consumers but now thanks to the UDM and app is a breeze to setup and to adopt and add any additional access points you might need. Within minutes the actual system is up and running with your main WiFi network being available. I have a lot of devices in my living room, so these are connected to a regular switch which in tern links to the LAN port on the back of the UDM.

I kept things simple, one parent WiFi network which is unrestricted, one kids WiFi network which is restricted and blocks all adult content and malicious sites (yes you can do this). Finally one guest WiFi network which does the sames as the kids but also reduces guest speed to 10Mb down and 5Mb up so guests are using too much bandwidth. You have full control, and if you wanted you can actually even charge guests for WiFi usage, it’s that powerful.

The App Experience

For most people the app for your phone will probably be enough just for you to check in and see how your network is doing.

The app, constantly updating with live metrics

The app has four main sections where you will live, Dashboard, Devices, Clients and Statistics. The dashboard will give you an overview of the current WiFi experience which is an average across all devices. You can also see which clients are the most active on your network. The Devices tab (not seen above) will show you any network points that are part of your system, for me this shows the UDM and the Access Point.

The Clients tab shows you what devices are connected, either wired or wireless, in the case of wireless you can also see the WiFi satisfaction percentage. Finally the Statistics tab will show you the usage across all devices, what on those devices including what category was using bandwidth.

The Dashboard Experience

If you want to get into the nitty gritty of your network then you can jump into a web browser and get to all those settings not available on the app.

Main dashboard showing your network and how well it is doing

One of the great things which I mentioned above was the ability to have different WiFi networks for parents and kids. As you can see below you can apply DNS Filtering so that the kids can have anything dodgy blocked and yet the parents WiFi is wide open. This is not a replacement for good parenting by the way but its nice to have it.

DNS Filters for keeping some WiFi more locked down

The other amazing thing about the UDM is Threat Management, you can actually block incoming and outgoing traffic to any country in the world. You can decide if you want to just detect attacks or have the UDM actively defend and eliminate it, it is very powerful as Trump would say.

Just blocking the usual offenders

You can do everything you could do in the app but so much more and far more than I could possibly go into here.

Live usage of devices and what access points they are connected to

The Takeaway

Having come from just a regular ISP router to Google Wifi, at the time I thought it was great, and don’t get me wrong it was, for awhile. But having upgraded to what is effectively enterprise equipment, you will see this stuff in offices and at large events, I can now see why I am so glad I made the jump.

It also is not that much more expensive either, for example right now on the Google Store a three puck system costs EURO 391 while a UDM and one access point costs EURO 408. Remember in my setup the UDM alone was more powerful than the three puck Google WiFi.

Just for clarity, I purchased this equipment myself and this is not a sponsored post or dig at Google. However I am very impressed so far with the UniFi Dream Machine and if you have spotty WiFi in your house, be it large or small then you can fix it.

As your home grows you can simply add more and more access points too, and there is an access point almost for every occasion even outdoor ones.

If you enjoyed this please hit the clap button below and leave a comment and don’t forget to share on your own social.

I upgraded my home network with the UniFi Dream Machine was originally published in Ireland’s Technology Blog on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.
